RICH PEOPLE PROBLEMS.

this is pure entertainment for us country folk. I moved from Oahu to Hawaii island cuz it’s just too stressful dealing with rich fakas. No aloha especially in Lanicry.
This is a rich person thing to do... they don't want the "public" to park in front of their homes and have enough money to bring in huge boulders. He's complaining they are singling him out. Well, maybe it will be an example for other selfish rich people to stop behaving like this.
Yet he does Not say why he doesn’t want people to park in front of his property and why he put the rocks out in front his house. Tell us why people do this - is because of the trash? Urination? Noise? Destruction of the grass? Partial Blocking of his Driveway?

There was an Uber driver that parked it from my dad's house my dad went up there with a shovel and asks what he's doing and then told me you never know when they have an AK-47 pointed at you behind the windshield
They should be fined. Big, big, big fine.
If he doesn't like it he can pay to build a sidewalk that is approved by the city.
The city didn’t single him out, but someone did. They only send someone out if someone reports it. Truthfully, people should report everyone over there who has boulders or other obstructions, even plants. People should also report people parking in those areas, as that’s illegal as well.
Makes sense, now the cars can be ticked and generate revenue .😅

Make a new department. parking enforcement of Lanikai. lol
you don’t own the easement to the road. People plant plants, put rocks and other obstructions. It’s no different than home owners planting plants along the shoreline to increase their property on the beach. The state, city and county needs to enforce these areas a lot more strictly on homeowners illegally extending their properties on areas that don’t belong to them in the first place.
My house! My beach! My road! Only for the rich! Mine, mine, mine! It's what Hawaii is all about now.
This is an age old parking problem in Lanikai. Can't fault the homeowners for trying to protect their properties and driveways. The boulders can be classified as a hazard though. I side with the homeowners. We have great memories of Lanikai. Difficult parking, but the beach and the water are so beautiful. This is the only place where I can get my local Hawaii wife in the water. I tow her around on a boogie board in the calm shallow sandy turquoise water and she loves it. Great memories. We also hike the Lanikai Pillbox trail, which is another blessing.
They make it hard for us lower class locals cause we not rich we have to walk 2 miles to a beach I approve
I bet if his grandma was walking on those obstructed unimproved sidewalks and tripped over a rock...his view would change.

@@LonnieBrewer-dd4wi I really don't know. Because the affected homeowners are too busy putting up rocks to attend or run for city council? Maybe it is more politically viable to ignore the home owners rather than taking an unpopular vote? Perhaps the affected homeowners comprise a tiny fraction compared to the number of people who frequent the beach?

@@MrBubba311 What if they've bought this in front of the city council and they chose to slow walk this issue. No one should have to run for a council seat if this has been going on for a decade. Like I said before the city/county needs to rectify the problem before someone above both agencies tells them to make it happen. Unpopular vote mean your political career is about to come to an end.
Call some to pick up the vehicles when they park there as well. Duh? Tow truck companies going to make out good.
The problems of lanicry…
Rocks protecting fragile trees, yes
just get bigger rocks
First the city doesn’t own any land. They are just caretakers of the government lands. Second if it’s not private property then don’t block it with rocks!! What happens if an emergency vehicle is coming through? Where can the driver pull on the side to make way if rocks are blocking?
Prevent illegal parking by illegal dumping... math checks out
Just sell a property/lot and build a parking structure...be like the west side, use cones and rubbish bins😄
It seems that homeowners living in other parts of the island, having high volume of parking on the streets in front of their homes don't like strangers parking there either, but deal with it. Lots of parents parked on the street in front of our home because we lived next to a park where there were youth groups playing soccer, football and such, they don't put boulders on the ground. Secondly, if there is an accident, of an elderly/child or other healthy person tripping or falling on the ground due to the rock, is the homeowner going to be liable? On a normal sidewalk, the city is always ensuring that the sidewalks aren't a safety hazard. Planting a boulder on the same area where the sidewalk would be might then make the homeowner liable. On areas where the water shutdown value for the county is actually in the sidewalk, it's covered. If that shutoff cover is left open and someone gets injured, the city is liable, which is why BOW/city doesn't like homeowners tampering with the cover, nor are they happy if trees of homeowners start to make the sidewalks unsafe for pedestrians. That section for sidewalk is not the homeowner's entitled property.

DPP calls the space "unimproved side walk", they call it that twice in the same notice. They do NOT call it parking space. So letting cars park there is violating "walking" spaces. Tow the vehicles then. The rocks do not inhibit pedestrians from walking in the space. The cars do. But that's democrat logic for you. Illogic. It's also funny here on the mainland, California, the parkway is city property yet they expect the homeowners to maintain it. If someone gets hurt in that space they are able to sue the homeowner but the city exempts itself. If the city plants a tree on that city property and it dies because the homeowner doesn't water it. They are at will to charge the homeowner for it and the cost to replace it. More democrat logic.
