What a simple thing this is and what a success it has had in Spain. We have this for breakfast, as an accompaniment for charcuteries, we serve it just to nibble on the table and we dress in the same way our sandwiches (in other countries people use butter). Remember garlic wants to be your friend, don’t forget to love him back.

made ours with sourdough bread / hicimos usando pan con masa madre/fermentada muy delicioso / very delicious 😋😋😋

Thank you so much for posting this. I first had pan con tomate in Granada 30 years ago and fell in love!!! 😍 When I came back to the US I tried making it with what we call “french bread” and it was a total disaster - way too soft. 😂 But nowadays we have better breads available in the US from local bakeries, so I will try again. Thanks and take care 😊

Summers in Spain
this was great. It's probably better than my previous fanciest toast (red radish + chives + butter). Now, I'm trying to rub a little something of everything (chili, onion, cucumber) on toast. The raw garlic was a bit too strong for my 7-year-old daughter's tongue, so I might try to roast a garlic clove slightly for her to mellow out the punch of the garlic.

Of course I have and I use Isle of Wight tomatoes in the restaurant throughout the year, they very sweet

No sorry, Madrid is for family and friends for me
For some reason only griddle gives bread that characteristic "grill burns" but still soft inside. I have tried to do this with oven, sandwich maker, and pan, and none of them came out quite the same way.

You are right and the bit of burnt bread is very important as well for the flavour. Having said that I mostly doing in the normal toaster just because it's easier

@@mourgos1234 hmm, i think i agree with Omar. The burn is very nice for my taste. However, he has pan with ridges inside. I only have a flat iron pan. His pan with the ridges might be better to get a less blackened taste. I'd have to buy the pan to do the experiment though....
its hilarious that you have to provide a video how to make roasted bread with garlic. Its a no brainer :D
