Once upon a time there used to be an eleven years old boy at gawalmandi lahore was watching this match live at PTV with his family late at night. Gone those precious days, loyal, pure and honest people...

Waawo I remembered this match I was 15 years old,now 54 years getting old big time but feels 40 years old Alhumdulillah.

Every player of this Pakistani was perfect in his position, when Naeem Akhtar receives the ball, he beats 3 or 4 German players with so ease that everyone thinks he is the Superstar of Pakistani team, Mushtaq Ahmed and Rasheedul Hassan do the job.What a golden generation this team was !

I am a great fan in of Pakistan hockey since 1972 though from India...akhtaar rasool.hasan sardar,kalimullah,manjur jr n sr...what players they were...

18th now. Imran doesn't care about hockey. He's only for cricket. But being an Indian and England supporter, I must say Pakistan had a brilliant team in the 80s.

If Pakistan is to revive hockey, than align domestic hockey as per requirements of modern hockey. They need stop living on the Past Glory,

Look at the technique and skill of that time Pakistani team,

I was there in the stadium watching the game. It was incredible to watch in person Pakistan winning the gold medal.

That was a golden era of Pakistan hockey , after that Pakistan hockey team didn't succeed to repeat the same history of 1984 Olympics

I love Hassan Sardar and Kaleemullah what a players they are and now we are white wash from the Asian Hocky 2023 shame on us ....

its being played on astro turf...stop saying that south asian hockey suffered due to adoption of astro turf...pakistan has won many olympics and world cups on astro turf ...india on the other hand was unable to adapt to astro turf ......only now india is at the top on astro turf after winni g olympic bronze..and pakistan is down to its worse time in hockey

Pakistan Hockey is on the decline. Asia has seen rise of Japan,Malaysia and South Korea. Pakistan need to work on a long term plan for revival.Words and emotions won't have much impact.

Feal sad how a marvellous sporting side has fallen from grace. Perhaps it is more to do with more of kids taking up cricket which gives more in returns in terms of money and screen time. Wish your administrators could do more in terms of school hockey.

Hockey was mostly played in Punjab. Now all Punjabi boys are going out of the country to earn dollars, euro and pounds. Others are busy with Tik Tok videos. My last visit to Pakistan I could not see any youngsters playing any sports on streets or grounds. During my time grounds were full with everyone playing some sport. All Pakistani talents comes from villages be in cricket or hockey. The city talent was never good enough. I don’t think hockey would be revived in Pakistan because except Punjab no other province play this sport.

Look st the athleticism and fitness of these champions 🏆 and look into the state of hockey now. Everyone from federation to players looking like clowns now. No one want to put effort into it. No one enjoy doing it. Fitness and athleticism of players is in the gutter. At least players should take care of their own fitness instead of always crying but may be lack compensation for effort is causing this lack in motivation. Sad affair

Still nobody has won 4 world cups in hockey except Pakistan. Past was so glorious that even hides present.
