The wizard of Hockey, Maj. Dhanchand toyed with West Germany in the final right under Hitler's eyes. Infact after scoring 8 goals , he said to his teammates that now they will show the Germans of how to keep the ball under possession. After the 8th goal, he would go to the top of the D of the Germans and would effect a back pass to his teammates. He literally made the Germans cry.

One correction, there was one single unified Germany in lifetime of Hitler. The West and the East Germany were created after the end of WW2, which is clearly after the death of Hitler.

Your history is weak af, Germany was divided into east and west after the WW2 because Russia and allies wanted to take the profits from it through taxes and stuff. East was given to Russia and west was under allies. 1936 Olympics was hosted by Nazi Germany and a year prior Hitler was listed as the most desired man in the world by the Forbes Magazine.

Absolutely right Nikhilji, the wizard was not just the greatest hockey player the world has ever seen but* the ultimate sports talent India has ever produced *. Not many know what his great contemporary Col. Ishqidar Dara (who was specially flown to 1936 Berlin Olympics, after Holland held us to a draw) had to say when Dhyan Chand passed away. Dara said “ Cricket may have had Hobbs & Sutcliff (significantly he did not mention Bradman),football may have had Stanley Matthews & Feranc Puscas (again,he did not name Pele-this was spoken before Maradona burst on the scene) but as far as Hockey 🏑 was concerned there is one and only Dhyan Chand “. Dara was *not a mean player himself. When the wizard slammed in 4 goals in the Olympics final against Germany,Dara scored 2 and the great Zaffer Shah scorer 2.Col. was a product of Sandhurst, and a quintessentially British in his value of things. That perhaps accounted for his placing Hobbs & Sutcliff above Bradman and the superb English soccer forward Stanley Matthews above Pele. I don’t personally endorse his preference in the matter for all their exceptional brilliance. But Dara knew his hockey. Dhyan Chand is the Shakespeare of Hockey 🏑.

Sohail Abbaas had a very powerful drag flick no doubt but without any directional control whatsoever, resulting in never managing to help his side win an important match against a top side let alone help Pakistan win any big tournament in his entire career. He doesn't even deserve to be rated top quality PC specialist let alone in best field hockey players of all time in my considered opinion. Sohail Abbas is a former captain of the Pakistan Hockey Team. He is the highest goal scorer in international field hockey with 348 international goals. A notable player of the field hockey game, he is widely regarded as the 'King of the drag flick'. Pakistan Junior team manager Samiullah Khan and coach Ayaz Mahmood were not convinced to include him for the 1997 World Cup staged in Milton Keynes - an underwhelming squad that failed to making it to the Junior World Cup semi-finals for the first time in the cup's 25-year history. Finally, he made his debut the following year on the national team and has since become arguably hockey's most prolific goalscorer of all time. Sohail, who struck 20 goals in 1998, was in terrific form in 1999 when Pakistan won the Azlan Shah Cup for the first time and got silver in Asia Cup. He was leading scorer in 8th Pakistan-India Series (10 goals), 9th Azlan Shah Cup (12 goals) and 5th Asia Cup (16 goals). Of 16 Asia Cup's goals, seven were against Sri La

Of 16 Asia Cup's goals, seven were against Sri
