Brother no Doubt that this was a golden period of Pakistan Hockey. Naseer Ahmed Bunda Late scored the decisive goal against India in the final. But people know a very little about Naseer Ahmed Bunda. Naseer used to play for Attock Oil Company. This might be surprising for you that he use to Play bare foot. In the final of Rome Olympics he was asked to wear the sports shoes as the Head of the Government of Italy was to come to watch the match and distribute the medals. But Naseer could not run due to the sports shoes so the Coach asked him to take off the shoes. In the pic shown in the video where Naseer is scoring the Goal you can see that he is bare footed. He use to Play at inside Left Position. His son Nasir Naseer also played for Pakistan as Full Back. May Allah bless him a high rank in Jannah. Ameen. As far as the reason of decline of Hockey in Pakistan , as much I know as a hockey player the biggest reason is that Government did not paid any heed towards hockey as it did towards cricket and also the mismanagement of PHF. In my School days hockey was played at school level and there were inter District Schools tournaments so players use to come ahead from grass route level. Today Hockey is left only in one little town Gogra. It is the need of the hour to give full attention to Hockey. Departmental Hockey be restored to provide the best players and they should paid equally like Cricket Players.

بھائی صاحب بات اتنی سی ہے کہ 1970 کے اخر تک اور 80 کے شروع تک پاکستان ہر میدان میں ترقی کر رہا تھا مگر مارشل لگا کے اس کے سارے راستے روک دیے گئے اور اس دفعہ کا ماشاءاللہ پہلے سے بھی بدتر تھا اور اس کے بعد ایسی بندر بانٹ شروع ہوئی کہ ہر چیز میں ہر ادارے میں سیاست گھس گئی میں خود فٹبال کا پلیر رہا ہوں خالی فٹبال میں ہی اتنی زیادہ سیاست ہے کہ عام بندہ یہاں چھوٹے لیول کا بندہ یہاں سروائیو ہی نہیں کر سکتا اور یہ تو ہاکی تھی اب تو ویسے بھی گراس روٹ لیول پر کھیلی نہیں جاتی تو انٹرنیشنلی پاکستان کا کیا ہونا تھا
