No, it was team effort, Late Mansoor Ahmad goal keeper did better than Shahbaz

I have always admired Shahbaz from Pakistan and Shahid from India. No match for both of them.

Shehbaz Senior and Hassan Sardar...Matchless...World will never see like them in hockey..

I feel myself luckiest to be a part of a generation who witnessed Shahbaz in hockey. Love this guy with core of my heart. He is no doubt one of a best players from Pakistan from any sports.

My father always tells me how Pakistan was unbeatable for decades and produce magician. Bring tears in my eye seeing our hockey now

Along with Dhyan Chand, Dhanraj Pillay and Sohail Abbas, Shahbaz Ahmed is one of my favourite hockey players. I wish that the glory days of Indian and Pakistani Hockey comes back. How great will be the day when India and Pakistan come back to Top position and start winning Olympics and World Cup again.

@@shehryarr612 hockey world started in 1971 So it is not possible for major dhyanchand to win world Cup But he won 3 Olympic medal 1928 1932 1936 Since better 1939 and 1945 world War II was going on no Olympic was conducted Other wise he would played more Olympic ( 1940 and 1944 )

In fact, I never watched a prayer like him after his retirement he was truly legend

The last Emperor of the great Kingdom of Pakistan Hockey ..... He took all the greatness and beauty of playing hockey away with him. Australian spectators used say that Pakistan has shown us the beauty of hockey.

Huge respect for Shahnaz Ahmed Sr! I have always loved seeing him playing and how he dodges! Dhyan Chand sir is called GOD of Hockey. After looking at his game Adolf hitler offered him Col position in Nazi army but he politely declined. Many times his stick was intentionally broken to see if there was a magnet inside. So imagine how good he was!! I wish I had played with him.

brilliant player, I have not seen anybody so far, with such free flow run through the opponent, quick agile and fit...ball possession was second to none...for as long as he played as though he reserved the rights to cover the midfield, passing the ball to either winger and wait at the top D with 3 or 4 opponents deployed only to restrict him making jobs easier for the wingers to come around...exceptional player mashaAllah... as soon as he retired Pakistan hockey came crumbling down like a house of cards and never recovered

What a genious it makes me nostalgic I move back the days when he use to play. In no time he move from centre to left and then left to centre to the gole. His ball control and athletic run was maritorious. Alas that there isn't one player in 22 crore nation who can continue the legacy of shahbaz senior... A man with electric heels and maradona of world hocky. He was not just a player he was an artist....

Hockey has been destroyed in Pakistan because Ur country gave more & over importance to cricket. Let me tell you India is also not exceptional people here also give more importance to cricket.

At the cost of cricket, we have visually ruined all our sports. Time to wake up. Isn't it?

I have seen downfall of Pakistan Hockey, from top to nowhere, it's national game and looks like we never know it. These are my 4 favorite players Sohail, Salmon Akbar & Shakeel Abbasi, they had seen Pakistan hockey team struggling like Sangakara and Jaywardne had seen Sri Lankan cricket team at end of their careers, I wish things could have not be so bad 😥

Hockey has not produced player like shahbaz senior but I have 1 complaint against these legends. When they are at boom they don't train youngsters. The same is true for cricket, hockey and squash. 90s was such great period for Pakistan sports.
