Sideshow Artist Chie Izuma takes us behind the scenes into the paint room while she works on the Yoda Mythos Star Wars Statue. Izuma shows us all of the techniques involved in bringing this piece to life.
The Yoda™ Mythos Statue, Sideshow presents. This unique Star Wars™ collectible envisions the wizened green hero as he may have appeared earlier in his journey with the Jedi™.
As a collection, Sideshow's Mythos series are fine art collectibles that allow the collector to imagine what could have been, but maybe never was. Myths meant to be initiated by the eye and completed by the mind.
Witness a master rising! The Yoda Mythos Statue measures 17” tall and 11.75” wide, capturing a glimpse of the agile and enigmatic alien during his younger days as a galactic peacekeeper. 900 years old he is not, as he leaps through the smoldering, shattered wreckage of a ship’s hull with ease in this gravity-defying pose. His lightsaber™ is extended and his arm is outstretched as the fierce battle continues. Though short of stature, Yoda proves that even the smallest being can make the biggest impact through the living Force.
The polystone Yoda Mythos Statue is fully sculpted with dynamic motion throughout the piece to emphasize his power and adherence to the Jedi creed. His layered tan and brown robes feature detailed textures and accents that add a richness to hero’s traditional garb. He also wears his signature blissl™ necklace and a set of beaded bracelets on his wrists. This imaginative look at the legendary Yoda’s life is a must-have for Star Wars fans of any generation.
The Exclusive Edition of the Yoda Mythos Statue includes a swap-out portrait featuring an alternate top-knot hairstyle and an alternate motion-swipe lightsaber blade. Love these videos just wish they would leave a description of what kind of airbrush and what paints are used.

The airbrush is an Iwata, you can see it when they show up close. I see some Golden paints. A lot of the paints are Cartoon Color Cel Vinyl which are not made anymore. They went out of business a long time ago. Not sure how they have any still, as any found are all dried up. Maybe someone started making again. At the end of the day it is the user and not what they are using.
I am always very interested in videos like this. I paint up miniatures from the Power Rangers Heroes Of The Grid game from Renegade Game Studios and I am always on the look-out for techniques on how to paint something with various different shades & weathering too.

The paint looks great but Yoda looks like Red from that 70s show.

Their in house artists paint the prototypes and ones you see at places like SDCC or NYCC. The ones they sell are produced in factories in Asia

need some clear gloss coat in his eyes to make it come to life.
It kinda looks more like Aughra from Dark Crystal than Yoda. Great job detailing!!!!
Just a pity it looks like cartoon Yoda, rather than ESB Yoda.
I’d love to know the model airbrush being used. Among other tools used by side show painters brands and models and such.
