Fast and loose, Hake brush painting of the Cambridgeshire fens
Created using a mixture of wet in wet and dry brush techniques.
Materials used:
Bockingford Hot pressed 14x10"
Large & Medium Ron Ranson Hakes, Round Sable, Rigger,
Winsor & Newton watercolour paints.
Ultramarine, Raw Sienna, Paynes Grey, Yellow Ochre, Light Red

Hi. Im so late to the party. I was curious what weight the paper is? Ive got an opportunity to get a LOT of 90 weight. I just love the effect on hot press. Thank you for your video

Thanks for sharing @ChristopherStephen. I use Hot press primarily because of the smooth surface that it offers. Pen and Ink sketches on hot press is much beautiful experience compared to cold press. But when it comes to coloring with water color hot press isn't the best option. Any suggestions ?

Absolutely, cold pressed or rough. Minimum 140lb (300gsm) cotton or rag if you can afford it. I like Millford or Saunders Waterford, but Bockingford is a good budget paper.
i love this kind of painting. just one question is that round sable Raphaels ?

Hi Gopinath, Thanks so much for watching. The Sable brush is a size 8 Winsor & Newton professional series.
