my Orisha/head is Oya. im not crowned or anything (yet) pero i have a padrino and my collares. I love Oya so much. I know she impacts my life and gives me love, protection and strength. I know i can come to her for anything. I have so much love for the religion and im always excited whenever my padrino teaches me something new or tells me stories that involve my mother Oya.

If you go online you will be able to find much more info than i can post on here. I have a strong affinity with Oya and Ayao is related to Oya so I received her MAINLY because she attracted me and because she is related to Oya. When I say witchcraft i mean she is good for spells and workings of all kinds. She brings one closer to the Egun and to spirits guides, allows communication to be easier. Plus brings mental stability for the person too. She represents the clouds and thoughts...

In my Ile- Orisha Oya has the two sisters: Ayao- we call her Ayayo and Afefe. Ayao is the Orisha Of witchcraft and is considered very dangerous to human kind because she is inhuman. As the Orisha of ritual magic- she is the invisible force to make things happen. Afefe- the wind is the Orisha of thought and accidental magic- evil eye and imidiate sorcery without ritual and is considered as equally dangerous. We never approch those Orishas directly.

I don't know about Ayao, but I have had contact with Oya, and she MUST be dealt with much respect. There was a stubborn court case in Louisiana regarding religious trespassing on a federal job and I ended up victorious. I paid her derecho to the babalawo immediately-you know what I mean?

Thanks! no harm taken, I do not edit my videos nor do I try to portrait myself as a know it all. Simple information that people can know is all I care about sharing. Further studies into Orisha comes when the person is truly sincere and they then reach out to know more. Secrets and deeper knowledge should be left to the ones who care to really know them.

She has several husband one of which is ogou feray - a worrier spirit. she is serve with 7 dark colors but her main ones are red, green, blue. sometimes black and red together when she is being call on the point of evilness. she uses a dagger during possession etc.....she in vodou men and woman gets married to her just as a two human wedding. she is one of my guardian spirits . In vodou there are 401 groups of spirits - but each branch of vodou recognizes 21.

In Haiti the crossroads are guarded by a Spirit. I think his name is Mait' Carrefour , I was wondering if these were the same just a different name. He was very helpful in ridding a few places of negative energy around where I live and really need someone like that now seeing that I have 2 neighbors that are a real pain. Thanks.

I practice traditional Yoruba Orisa worship and I was never told that any of the Orisas in my tradition have roads except for Esu. My lineage goes through southern Yorubaland through Ehglin Benin which is between Ketu Benin and Oyo Nigeria. We do have praise names for them, though.

The only way someone will get their own is if they move away and don't have access to cummunal Orisas and those people will receive them in pots and can install their Orisas in the ground at a later date if they choose too. All the Awos do get their own ikins, though. People can also get their Esus, too.

Well I kind of take that back. I have Oriki Ogun that talks about Ogun something or other protector of barbers, circumcisers, etc., but we're not told that our Orisas are a particular camino. That's just what I've been taught though. Besides, traditionally the Orisas are installed in the ground in Africa except maybe for Oya who is typically kept on a large clay plate and left uncovered. The Orisas are typically communal Orisas and some people may have their own in their homes, too.

Ashe, again its all about the different TRADITIONS. In lukumi Oya, Shango, (and in some houses) Oggun dont have caminos/paths/Ona. In others they may have a few and in others a bunch... It depends the tradition and the lineage. I have no clue why Oya does not have caminos in Lukumi.. but in some houses she live wet, others semi wet, and in others completely dry. So... it just is, but Oya DOES TAKE EPO. As long as the tradition and the believe makes sense to you and works... follow it.

SMTrelles Oya Cannot be fed/consecrated in the same room as Yemaya or Chango.... Pataki is The Ram was Oyas best friend he betrayed her for a bounty. Olofi ordered the ram to be killed for betraying Oya. Since then Oya can not stand the sight of ram bc of the rams betrayal but also cant bare to see him being killed either bc she still cares for him. Ram is a favorite food of Changos and Yemaya.. they bare the scent of ram, out of respect for Oya and bc the rams betrayal her things are never fed/consecrated with theirs. Ashe! Maferefun Oya!

I am one of them since I have a lot of Hinduism in my practice. But theres many others who are associating certain chakras to Orishas. but I havnet heard anyone doing much with the association....
