Outdoor Skoolie Shower w/Hot & Cold + Unfinished Wiring & Airhead Toilet Vent

We love this outdoor shower on our Skoolie, not only because it has hot and cold water just like the shower inside our bus, but can also be used as a low faucet or full-height shower. We purchased an extra wall mount in order to use the outdoor shower at two different heights. This was probably the easiest job Mike has done on our Skoolie yet.
We also took care of some Unfinished "Bussyness" with some wiring for the security system, testing a three-way light switch, and some pool-noodle insulation on our hot water pex lines. We also cut a 5" hole in the bus floor for the vent cover to our Airhead Composting Toilet.
Sometimes it feels like a lot of tiny baby-steps, but it all adds up to a Tiny House in a Bus!

About Us:
Hi! We are Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1996 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40" school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty.
We're building a Tiny-Home-in-a-Bus for full-time living in the most adventure-friendly way possible! In other words, Bussy will not be parked in our driveway, waiting for weekend or holiday getaways... when we finish the build, we'll be packing everything we're keeping into the bus and driving away from this old house forever!
We plan to be boondocking the majority of the time, so you'll see that reflected in our choices throughout the build (100 gallon water tank, composting toilet, solar power system, etc). We'd love to have you stick around and follow us on our journey, throughout the Skoolie Build, and to Infinite Adventures Beyond!
Mike & Kerry

I just scored an airhead for a nice price. Should be installing next weekend and I was thinking I'd just vent it through the floor. Glad you approve. Finally stealing ideas from you yay!!! I did zero research on that airhead btw I just decided if Bussy wants it I want it!

Hi guys! Just a little trick with the hole saw you are using, in fact any saw really, rub candle wax on both sides of the blade, it will lubricate the tool so as to ease cutting,... xx

I just love your work!!! Dude, you are amazing! I hope to purchase a small bus in the future and put some recliners, TV, fridge and a bed in it. As a single Dad my dream is to take my boys on long road trips to mountain biking destinations in the US. I don't have access to the kind of tools you do though. You really zet the standard with your work and the way you have your relationship so together. Thanks for being a fantastic example of what a man ought to be. You give me hope bro!

@@BussyMcBusface I have felt that way before. Hopefully someday I will feel that way again. I totally get it. You are the kind of man that draws that caliber of woman. Taking notes here. If nothing else I am so very, very grateful for my boys! I am truly blessed! A supportive woman like that would just be icing on the cake.

Almost on that gold star you should hold the roll so that you can pull tight the tape on each and every loop you’re holding the role on the wrong side to do that...you wanted to roll off the back side of the roll not the underside but you getting there...Considering what you already know that’s pretty freaking minor

No gold star from this plumber! Wrap from the bottom of the roll!! Not over the top. Then you will have better control. Nice work! Enjoying your build and talent.

I’ve watched most of your videos twice already but I never saw what kind of washer/dry unit you decide to go with. So could you please direct me with what type you used or a video of you installing it. And I was wondering how fast will your bus actually go. I’ve been watching a lot of schoolie videos and some of the owners have been said their bus doesn’t go very fast on the interstates. I realize the bus maybe a lot heavier now that it’s a camper/RV. Can you let me please? Thank you both. I’ve very much enjoyed your build.

You guys are doing a great job! Thanks for keeping us updated. Hope your radio check was "10-2". Brought back memories of my volunteer firefighter/SCUBA dive team member days. BTW: I noticed your Tombstone VFD t-shirt. Does the FD sell them (fundraiser). If so, I'd be interested in one. Our daughter lived in Benson (now in Tucson), we make it a point to visit Tombstone when visiting her.

We drive through St David when we go to Tombstone and Bisbee. Reminds me of the town we live in (Sabattus, Maine). St David is probably a tad warmer. We still have snow on the ground and ice on the lake. :)

We plan on retiring in Arizona. Probably in the Tucson area. Not ruling out the Benson area, though. Benson should be a tad cooler than Tucson and less hectic.

Never use the hand faucet button to secure your water. You will backfeed hot into cold and cold into hot water system. Always use the knobs.

If you ever need money while driving around you can earn plenty of $$$$ simply by either making a video of bus builds, carpentry, metal work, welding etc the list is endless on that idea. Then you could run work shops. Do stand up comedy with Kerry too of course. Man what you can do to earn a curst is endless as your super talented incase you wasn't aware 🤔☺️ of this BTW. Just loving you guys you bounce off each other in harmony with charm.

Wife and I have gotten almost all the way through your videos and out of the (seems like) millions of conversions we have watched, we most like your methods and approach to design. You have inspired us thoroughly. I always watch the ads all the way through cause I know every bit helps when you’re YouTubin. I hesitate to critique anything because you two and your videos are amazing, but when I’m watching with a sleeping grandchild nearby, I always have to turn the volume down for the music and then back up for the talking. Maybe take a look at the levels of the different clips and equalize them a bit. SUPER IMPRESSED with your One Leak PEX Job!! We also live in AZ (North of you) and would love to come see your project sometime to continue the flow of inspiration!

be sure and insulate all your water pipes under the bus especially to the outdoor shower as they could freeze and burst if the temp drops low enough.

Just curious, would you not want the toilet vent fan exiting the side of the bus and not fill under then seep upward into the bus when camping? Driving yes will be no problem, parking is my concern. 90 it out the side. You guys are doing awesome! Keep up the good work and stay safe brother. Ps. Love the radio check. Do that for a daily check with dispatch!
