Thank you. It's going to definitely help. Knew we would have to do it on this model, especially after seeing your video about caravan weight and knowing we needed to carry a bit more in the truck to help. I wasn't sure at first on the new styling when I saw it online in the promo videos on release, but in person it really grew on me and when I finally saw the Sunflare Orange, I was sold.

Great review Dan. A little advice on adblue, try and buy it at truck stops. It works out at a lot cheaper than your normal filling stations. And whatever you do don’t get the dealer to top it up. £££££££££👍

Hi Colin. Many thanks for that. We have a new van at work that requires it, so I was going to see if I can use our suppliers to keep it topped up, otherwise, I think your right to get it at the truck stops and pump it straight in. We have a couple around us that I can easily visit, so I'll bear that in mind. Cheers.

We used to have the same problem too on the series 5. The dealership had never seen this optional extra, they were really impressed and tell me the new showroom demonstrator has been ordered with one fitted as they think it will sell really well.

I know exactly what you mean. Believe it or not, there's less on this one than the series 5 L200 as they had done the fuel caps and more and so much of it stuck on with sticky pads. This one is better and I can live with it! Thanks for watching.

I see you had the ‘normal’ tow bar so you could fit the bike rack I showed you and Jules last week, vehicle looks fantastic really improved as they used to be so agricultural but that’s as nice an interior as any upmarket saloon these days, hope you enjoy it mate

Cheers Mike. I just asked for them to fit their 13 pin electrics and they elected to fit the dual face incase the tow ball sat to high to hitch up, so more luck than planning as on my last L200, I had single face plate fitted by Mitsubishi. Agreed they've done a nice job on the interior. The last one wasn't too shabby, but this feels just a bit more elevated. You still know it's a commercial vehicle with all the plastics, but not as distant from it's SUV siblings as it used to be.

Been waiting for this, I have a 2007 l200 animal which as much as I love it, I think it's about time I get a newer one didn't like the shape when I first saw it but it's growing on me. Mine's manual but I fancy an auto. Also been looking at the Nissan Nivara as well looking forward to hearing how you find it for town and tow work. Stay safe best wishes Jon and Karen.

Apologise I missed your comment. Upgrading from a series 5 to 6 for me it all feels a bit similar. There are some noticeable’s, such as the cabin just feels a little nicer and they’ve added some extra padding that wasn’t there before around the center console to protect yourself from bashes if actually using it off road. A few bits of extra kit too, down hill decent and all the collision sensors. . I haven’t really had the chance to drive anywhere as yet to understand how we’ll it’s performing on fuel economy, but it does look better than the 5. The engine is almost certainly quieter as well. The styling definitely isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and it certainly wasn’t mine. It does look better in the flesh and I really think it works better in some colours more than others. Overall, I like the subtle upgrades and I still think the L200 represents such good value for money given all the standard kit compared to other marques.

Nice review. Wonder if the slide-out at the back is available in Australia. Contemplating at the moment the purchase of the L200 (Called Triton GLS here in Oz) That slide out is very nice which would make my wife nod the head for the purchase of the ute pick-up.

Hi Gerard. Thank you for the kind feedback. I would imagine that the slide out bed would be available in Australia. I think it's something that is readily available as an aftermarket fit even if not through your dealer. However, generally when searching the internet, I always thought Australia commercial vehicle sector was better equipped at offering extras as the ute pick-up market is so much bigger and stronger than here in the uk. I have to agree though, that the slide out does make for a very happy wife. My wife is quite short and it makes a huge difference and she loves it. Pulls it right out to load up with shopping. The only down side is bigger shopping bills! Thank you for watching and subscribing.

Great review Dan. I will enjoy following your family and camping vlogs. I just love all the extras that are included and everything that makes it ideal for towing. What I am personally looking for is a car that can double up is a mini camper van. This one is ideal with the pull out tray, but is there enough room anywhere for two bods to sleep? I think a more flexible requirement for me is the need for two rows of fold down seats for sleeping and storing room, which a cab set up cannot provide. Ticks all the boxes for me otherwise :-) I too like the Dorset area for camping.

Hi Liz. Many years ago, I would have said check out the Mazda 5 (not mx5 or cx5). I owned one. It was an MPV but the front seats reclined fully to meet the rear seats that could also be reclined and it made a bed big enough to sleep two. With the sliding side doors, it was easy to get in an out of too. Unfortunately no longer manufactured, but you can pick up second hand still. I think it was on the the newer model released 2013/14. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing to our channel.

Good detailed review Dan. That slide out load bed is brilliant. I know it's usually a case of climbing on the tail board to reach items at the back of the load area. Is it genuine Mitsubishi dedicated towing elcectrics that talks to the vehicle to tell it it's towing? I'm surprised sat nav isn't standard or even optional. Overall very nice. The front looks futuristic. Thanks for sharing Dan. Take care. Rob

Thanks Rob. That slide out bed has definitely come in to it’s own already. Definitely the best optional extra I’ve ever had fitted. Hope to grab a quick update on it, to show it fully loaded when away next. I had the electrics fitted by the dealer, but I think In terms of the rear view camera (standard on this model) the reversing line is always visible if electrics fitted or not. It’s mainly used as a guide to allow enough room to drop the tailgate. I found many manufactures seem to have moved away from sat nav in favour of apps via the phone, but was taken aback when I couldn’t add it as an optional extra. However first few uses of Apple play and google maps or TomTom have worked well. Thanks for watching.

Apologies for the long delay in reply, been unwell. It's a little worrying but I've been reassured that they will continue to support their vehicles and customers for the next decade in uk. That doesn't seem long given the life expectancy of new vehicles, but by that time any warranties and pre paid service plans will have expired. I think if I was looking now, I would have concerns and maybe look at alternatives, but for me the L200 has always represented great value for money. I really hope Mitsubishi keep to their word and have a support structure in place for the next decade.

Hi Adam The official stats say 29.1 for automatic and I would say i'm getting around 25 mpg in 2WD. Haven't really driven any distance in 4WD to get a comparison, so can't give you any figures on that yet. Most of my driving over the last year has been pottering, so figures might be slightly better if I'd have had the chance to really get out and about. It might also be worth taking in to consideration Mitsubishi are leaving the UK. I'm not too worried as an owner, but you may want to factor that in to your buying process. Thanks for watching.

  • @CarrsCaravan

Hi Tom. I’ve been very happy with the L200. It’s great value for money given the specs on the Barbarian X. The engine is a little on the small side compared to it’s counterparts, but i think this is to do with emissions. On that subject, it does meet the low emission targets set by London and other cities, so I haven’t had to pay anything when towing or driving in them. The only negative I have about the series 6 is satnav isn’t fitted and it’s not an option. You have to use your mobile device. I have had a couple of little niggles with the interior lights failing and the touch pad on the rear canopy failing. These were both fixed and replaced under warranty and I couldn’t fault my local dealer. However, it’s worth noting that Mitsubishi have now left the UK and whilst their are still dealers that will look after the servicing and warranty issues, it does concern me that potentially this could become an issue. Mitsubishi say they will still supply spares in to the UK for the foreseeable future as the L200 is still in production under the triton name. I think if your considering pickup, a canopy for the rear bed is worth considering. I find the extra height/space useful especially if taking a lot away with us and can’t carry in caravan. My previous pickup I just had a rear bed cover, but I did find it very restrictive. Overall it’s been a good tow vehicle and I’ve been happy with it during my ownership. I hope that helps. Also check out Caravan Chitchat as they have a Ford Ranger and vlog about it and it may give you some other ideas.

No, not on this latest model. It was a bit of a step back as it came as standard in the previous model but wasn’t even an optional extra this time as they decided that most people would use the apple play//Android Auto. Don’t think it was the right call personally, but I have been using my iPhone and TomTom mobile app via apple play and it works well.
