Our M2 Likes to Slide, A LOT! 670 whp BMW M2 G87 Time Attack at Gridlife CMP Festival
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Welcome to the Gridlife season opener! We have traveled to Carolina Motorsport Park for this Gridlife mini festival. The track conditions didn't feel great, but the M2 and I put up a great fight against some very fast cars. Great start to the year, and we'll keep pushing!!

I like the wide angle view

Think so too. Wide Angle is here to stay then!

@@JackieDing86 I do like the wide angle better, too, but the linear angle is stabilized a LOT better. Did you turn that off for the wide angle? Compare how the treeline surrounding the track is completely fixed with linear and shaky as hell in wide angle. Apart from that, nice car, nice driving, congratulations!
@JackieDing86

@@shekk0r it might be? They were actually 2 different cameras (linear view was on a camera I borrowed, wide angle is one that Alex bought) so settings might be different
Man I just wanna get a drink with Jackie and his team. They seem so down to earth yet super talented and passionate.

They were really chill a few years ago at COTA. They were there for super lap battle I believe and everyone in the pits was super down to Earth. Grass root motorsports tends to have a really nice atmosphere.

@@JackieDing86 Where can I find your schedule? Is it just the Gridlife schedule?
i like the wide angle because i like seeing you mirrors, and out your side window in sharp corners.
Great vlog of the GRIDLIFE South Carolina Festival at CMP! Also, congrats on the podium finish in the TrackMod class of GRIDLIFE TrackBattle.^^ In addition, I love the wide angle view so much.
Great video...ya'll are doing great! it was great meeting you at Gridlife SC 😎
The wide angle is much better because we get to see you hands and how you correct steering. Great work
Most underrated automotive channel rn
I never seen this track but I really dig it.
congrats jackie! thanks for the video
My home track! Good to see you back at CMP, Jackie!
wide angle is best for sure
Was great to see you and Allen at PhD HQ just before you headed out to CMP! Wide angle gets my vote.
hell yeah big dog, looked slick as hell, good driving.
Love this channel
really nice, congrats to the 2nd place
That was an amazing lap with what traction you had honestly 🎉
Oh small world. I saw you in Novato today. I was like “damn, that’s a fat wing,” and here you are in my recommendations. I was in the white e46 coupe!
Sweet!
what ever shows the corner severity accurately is the best view
Wide feels nicer to me personally. Great stuff as always!
Wide angle ftw 🙌
I prefer the wide angle View. Thank you for testing new settings for us
Wide angle camera is a lot better. You get a much better view of inside and out the cockpit. Not only can we see you handling the car better but it gives a much better sense how much speed you're carrying. 👍
FINALLLYYYY
Here first! Already know it’s gonna be 🔥
i would be very interested in the lap time of a stock 992 gt3 rs on this track. I think it wouldnt be far of in terms of laptime or maybe even faster
I have an M2 CS and it's a drift car basically. Even with slicks.
Wide angle for sure
Awesome!! Would love to check you, the guys and the M2 out, on your down time in Chicago. 👍🏾🥃

I’m amazed that you aren’t required a cage.
lovely car. what do you think about the huge displays?
Love it. What wheels are these? EDIT: figured out that these are Titan 7 T-P10. They aren't listed on the Titan7 Website though.
20:26 lmao
It looks like the lesser map is possibly faster - or can get more traction
Vent that wheel wake outboard, find a way, there's a lot of low drag aero improvements possible.
A little more rotation with the brakes mid corner could help with the traction issue🤔
@JackieDing86

Absolutely agree with the assessment. Working on it :)
wide angle
Do you think you will be able to make the 10 level traction control work with the tune?
I feel like you getting more comfortable with the car. Some more traction on the rear for corner exit & the new combo is up to the task!
@JackieDing86

You're absolutely right, definitely feeling more and more comfortable with the M2 at the limit. We'll get there with traction!
Awesome driving, Jackie.
Thoughts on the interior display screen. That's like the main reason why I wouldn't get an m2 but idk maybe it is better what's your opinion?
@InclineDumbbell

I have a g87 and you will get used to it very quickly. I do wish there were physical climate buttons but at least you can always adjust the temperature without going through the menus. Otherwise it’s actually a lot more responsive than idrive 7 and has a much better UI
What wheels are those on the beast fire
Don't f me 😂😂
What camera angle was the first one? Second one, "wide angle" you don't really get to see the track it's harder to really grasp what's going on in corners. But that's just me
everyone always says the new m cars all have super dead steering feedback, is there a suspension or steering mod that can help with that?
Just out of curiosity how many sets of tyres do you go through for 1 full season?
Jackie if you drove the track 10 years ago that would make you 9 years old when you last raced here? 😂 Jk love y'all!!

"Sir, you can't park there!"
Do you think this car in awd would diminish the sliding?
@JackieDing86
2 ай бұрын
Yea, an M3/4 Comp xDrive would have a lot less traction issues for sure. But they also cost like 30k-40k more haha. We're working on adding more grip to the car too. It'll come!
Hey Jackie, do you think the m2 is faster than the supra?
Wide angle, can you share your mount and camera combo?
@JackieDing86

For this video we used the Boss Vision POV mounts and a GoPro Hero 10!
how can u afford this?! I want to also!
wide-angle looks nicer
Computer tune the rear differential:) unless I miss that part 😅
@jkeijzer1418

Just tuning isnt enough. These e-lsd are limited to 7-settings. For proper grip and feedback a mechanical lsd will be the best.
@sayuri_wrxsti

@@jkeijzer1418 hahah it’s not worth while for him to change it back to mechanical haha :). Some BMW Tracker are using m4 chip or completely retuning the software allowing to corner better I do agree with mechanical haha with innovated tech like f1 in modern cars. gt3 rs change the diff on the fly
Wide angle is way better
Wide angle better.
will it be absurd to say that he was better with the Supra than the M2? seem like he's struggling quite a bit with the M2.
@JackieDing86
2 ай бұрын
Not absurd at all. But you cannot compare Year 4 Supra to Year 1 M2, we had so much more experience, mileage, setup and TBH money and TIME sunk into TA90 Ver.Finale compared to the M2 as it is. If you go back to 2019-2020 videos of the Supra, you’d see I was struggling just as much, if not more haha.
