Watermelon red zoom or yum lizards back in 2007 was hands down my favorite spawn bait. I used a 1/0 ewg and would catch 20 or 30 fish a day. Half the times they didn't eat it but couldn't just nip it either. They almost always got the bait in their mouth. Great color.

JMO if it turns on it's side early it's CG is out. Add a heavier hook, a split ring or two and a swivel -- test to confirm swim style.

That floating jerkbait technique lettin it float almost to the surface and twitch is deadly with a Rapala ripstop of all baits. It slow floats nose up slightly on warming water it is killer! Love the content guys I gotta get that nishine floater jerk for this season

That old school jerkbait technique you described works great even with the small tiny Rapalas when they lock on on the tiny forage. Have had some monster days with those little baits and out fished my buddies throwing regular sized baits.

That sounds right to me. I'm on Bull Shoals. Only thing that I've used that's not in your list that has produced well for me lately is a spybait. For that Wart/Rock crawler I also use the deep-x series 100 200 and 300. Jerkbait has been slayin for me, everything from Bass to Walleye to huge Crappie. I've done really well on an X-Nanahan. .

the bass have been spawning for a week here in south GA, nothing big yet. Just the small ones.

The Nishine TW jerkbait definitely works 😁. Reel it fast and then stop.

Same. I did some serious damage on it last year on smallmouth and surprisingly brook trout. I also use my reel instead of twitching the 115tw. 1 or 2 fast reel chops then pause, just before it hits the surface repeat the reel chops.

Water temp buddy. Moon phases have a lot to do with bigger fish and night fishing. Do some research on it.

Some places are closer to 5" Honestly who cares if we need to wait. Our lakes needed this bad. Be grateful we have chocolate milk instead of 10' in February.
