Great video. I live in the Ozarks. Here in Arkansas there's a great bit of shallow site fishin going on. I went last week on the coldest and windy day. High over cast clouds and I had good luck Wacky rigging a senko style worm. It was a Alabama craw color and they ate it up. Then the sun comes out and they stopped biting. I changed to a roboworm straight tail and morning Dawn on a shakeyhead set up & it was back on!!! Lost a couple of nice ones due to breaking off on my leader. I'm back at it tomorrow morning. This time I'm throwing a Baby D Bomb on a drop shot and a Bellows Gill in 3.8 size on a free rig. Thanks for sharing this video.

Great tips as always. The ice up here is finally gone but getting the last bit of snow. Got lots of big walleye last Saturday forgot my scale biggest around 9lb. I want that 15-20lb tho.

I like to throw flukes around shallow cover in the spring as well. I can also cover a lot of water on those shallow flats with them. Another thing I like to do in really shallow cover is throw something like a Skinny Dipper weightless. You can cover a lot of water and fish it super shallow.

Yesss I'm a bank fisherman and only been fishing a year , the fluke Jr In greenpumpkin and baby bass kills at my pond , lots of small bluegill and crappies that are about the same size as the Jr

I live in Washington state. Went to phx for a vacation with the family. Ran into desert bassin and we fished for a couple hrs and exchanged information. Such a small world. I randomly found your video and I know the dude behind the camera. What are the odds. Lmao

You know I have noticed that people tend to try to use lures that look exactly like the bait fish in their lakes or ponds and they are missing out on so many lures that look nothing like the bait fish and just because it’s different it gets hammered, for instance a Gan Craft jointed claw 178 have tons of crazy colors but they absolutely work everywhere

I live in Idaho where there are no Shad but white, chartreuse, blues work really well I find. Along with darker colors to, it’s awesome!

I like the white or tasty Shad jig with a sight flash or neon Wakasagi DoLive Shad. For bluegill, green pumpkin or sunfish with the neon Wakasagi DoLive.

Surprised you didn’t include the 110 & 110+1. I tend to catch a ton in the early spring on my bluegill colors especially the 🔥 colors from the bento boxes!!

There are honestly so many different options. Potentially everything can work this time of the year. I just personally get away from the jerkbait during spawn, but it doesn’t mean that’s right for every body of water and every body!

Ben would reccomend the H or XH Bass X rod for that baitsanity gill? Probably throw an islide 185 and wakebaits with it as well. Also, cody meyer is a legend in Norcal, you ever chase our magnum spots out here?

I’d do the XH. It gives you a little more wiggle room on the top end.

With the drop shot, you talked about using baitcaster, but it seems like a majority of people using spinning rod/reel. Is there advantages or disadvantages of using Baitcaster. I would prefer baitcaster. I have Shimano mgl 70 reel, and it does a good job throwing 5g and up. What line to leader would you recommend for drop shot on baitcaster? Also should I just buy spinning setup for this technique?

Put a straight shank worm hook on a Ryugi swimming sinker TG football head to make an exposed hook wobble head, add a swimbait and you now have the GOAT goby/sculpin bait that they absolutely crush

Try the lunkerhunt spider!! The bigger size on med/heavy spinning combo, 30lb. Braid...u will kill em'!! Live target 45 series works very well, too

Oh, I don't actually fish anymore anyway- I guess I just buy gear and tackle to collect it and wish, hope- maybe some wonderful, joyous day- ppl will leave me the fuck alone and let me go fishing. I doubt it though- very seriously doubt it. What's it like out there- anyone? Somebody send me some pictures or something- this is miserable. I have been trying to get on the water for over a month- haven't managed it one time- not once. All so I can take care of someone who because they're old and sick- doesn't even remember who I am most of the time. I went through this same thing with my dad- I know exactly what's coming- man this sucks. Eventually you don't even get to sleep because you literally have to sit with them every second and make sure they don't hurt themself or burn the house down or something like that. At east I had mom to help with dad though- now it's her turn and it's just me. I may have to revive Stony- I knew the bastard wouldn't stay dead for long.
