Love the beeble with a spark shad. Caught my biggest so far this year on it. You can use the plastics to keel the bait for speed variations or a more horizontal presentation for better hookups. Also love the Typhoon!! Giant spinnerbait!! Get a restock! Shad spawn is going off!

As jdm as I am, I'm still a war eagle guy when it comes to spinnerbaits. 1/2oz trokar extreme and 3/8oz finesse. I do like the jackall dooon though, it's blades make it like a finesse full-size.

You nailed it on the need for a powerful rod vs a softer rod. I reflect back on what could have been an epic day on the Spinnerbait. This was many years ago, but I was using my favorite rod. Which was graphite but fairly soft. Great spook rod though. Anyway that day I lost 5 bass over 5lbs. I did land a few. But that day I couldn’t figure out what happened till years later with more experience. Realized I need a heavier action. Which Spinnerbait was the one you said a baby bass color. What is the lightest wire spinnerbait you carry

I had a real eye opener happen this past winter. Instead of a deep crank on bottom I just dragged a 3/4oz SV3 Slow Roll and man did it make a difference. Definitely fishing more spinnerbaits on bottom in deep water.

One of my favorite rods for spinnerbaits is the Megabass orochi diablo spec r also with a 7.1:1 reel. I can't wait to jack them on spinnerbaits agian. last year here in Minnesota I caught a 4-14 which is my pb on sb and now I'm hooked using them!

Great video super helpful! I haven’t really caught many fish on a spinnerbait and always lean towards a chatterbait as my confidence lure but I wanna get better using a spinnerbait this year. I’m up in IL and I fish mainly ponds from the bank around 7-10ft deep on avg with stained water on most days. There’s usually a lot of submerged vegetation and lots of snot grass in some areas. Main forage is typically bluegill not many ponds with shad near me. Any recommendations on specific spinnerbaits/colors/blades/retrieves from the bank? Thanks!

Also it’s still pretty cold up here not sure if the fish are even in the spawn yet. We had a week where it was in the 80s then dropped to the high 30s overnight a few weeks back so I’m just as confused as the fish are at this point 😂. It’s currently in the low-mid 50s right now and itll probably stay that way into mid May

Maybe fish a little lighter one - 3/8 or even 1/4oz to keep it above the grass. High pitcher would probably be perfect

What are your thoughts and choices for a shorter rod. Do you match power, taper and lure rating just in a shorter rod. I've been procrastinating MB 6'8" blade, steez 6'9" target sniper and expride 6"10".

Hi Ben! My name is John Lindsay. I a. A physically disabled angler who uses a wheelchair in California. I have mostly done a lot of salt water fishing but recently have started getting to fresh water fishing. My fiancee Monica usually fishes with me. Here is my problem. I have some 4000 size spinning reels but I'm unsure on what kind of fresh water rods to buy. I've started using lure of all types ie crankbaits, spinners, paddletails etc. What kind of reds do you recommend that we can use for all around fresh water applications? I want something that will do it all with less than 20lb line. What do you suggest? Is there such a rod? Please advise! Thanks! John

Hi I saw you didn't get a reply, but even though you are fishing a big spinning reel instead of a baitcaster, you look for the same qualities in the rod for each technique. The selection might not be the same, but if you have trouble with that, give a call to these guys and I'm sure they can help you out. They are all literally fish heads that love talking tackle

All spinnerbaits are not created equal. OSP’s spinnerbaits, like with 99% of their baits, are at the top of industry. Outside of niche spinnerbait conditions, I’m just about always starting with something from the High Pitcher line. I do change the blades out sometimes. For me outside of the high pitcher and SV3, the only other “standard” sb’s I care for are the Zorro Bango blade, the Picasso’s with the .032” wire and the Stanley with the tapered wire. Will definitely be checking the Beeble, D-Zone and the Killers. *Edit: I throw it them all on 18-22# fluoro or 40-50# braid depending on conditions. It seems to me that regardless of line size, really thin wired baits need to be replaced every 5-20 fish depending on size or type of fish caught. Also, a little tip on trailers, if you’re fishing over a lot of wood, using a flat trailer will give the bait even more snaglessness (if that’s even a word). Same on chatterbaits and swim jigs. It keeps the bait from rolling over when pulled over woods. Only drawback is it increases the lift of the bait but that can also be a good thing at times. The OSP wacky worm (don’t remember the name but the one with the 2 straight tails is a solid trailer.
