How the hell is Piers Morgan going to criticize actors and athletes for speaking about politics when Donald Trump, a fucking reality tv star, is president?!

  • @rascalofjoy3006

Actor and athletes pay millions in fucking taxes so they have all the right to speak about politics. They're citizens of the world. Furthermore, historically, actors and artists were very politically involved and always have been. Their entire industry deals with the human condition. Conservatives only like celebrities that support them to speak out. When it's the other way around, they tell them to shut up.

They don't always say the same thing in the same voice, but they do, mostly share the same thought about Trump, that's because that's the truth. Trump is a fucking childish, authoritarian, moron, incompetent, bully, crazy, narcissistic, self-serving, liar, asshole and that is self-evident! They're seeing the truth and they're reacting to it!

That is a silly ARGUMENT! Piers Morgan tried to be in Hollywood but he did not make it. And Onamorosa blasted him! But the truth is that Celebrities DO NEED TO SPEAK UP! We have a President who IS a celebrity!!! And Morgan wants America to "hide" in Hollywood? Just watch movies and talk gossip about stars? Fuck no! Let the Oscar be a political arena or do it Gaga's way. Be subtle but Do NOT shut the artists!

Doesn't matter if Trump is a celebrity or not. He's a fascist cunt and not speaking up is dangerous. They aren't the only ones speaking up, it's only that people think they are because they're the only voices people fucking listen to. That's why they get so pathetically indignant when they don't agree with them.

By always being a price, firstly as a celeb reporter for a rotten UK tabloid. On a BBC radio program, Steven Fry put it best, the show was about word games and Fry came up with another meaning for 'Countryside' - the killing of Piers Morgan. A lot of other well known people hate him, he was implicated in hacking their phones when editor for another tabloid, he was sacked from that job for publishing fake pics of British troops abusing an 'Iraqi'.

Bill has such a sensitive audience. If the joke isnt about trump, white people, or Conservatives they dont know whether to laugh or not. Piers wasn't totally correct, but. nobody is. He was right about the excessive hysteria though. If Trump does do something truly terrible, people may be so fed up with fake outrage that they let it happen.

The left are still in shock over Trump, they see anyone who thinks different than they do as as a threat to their fragile world view. Their best argument seems to be using foul language and throwing tantrums and talking of violence against anyone who disagrees with them. Time to grow up and understand they cannot always have their own way in life.

Ray Ross Yeah because the millions of people are protesting and putting their feet down just because someone thinks different from them. You are ignorant. If you fail to see the reason for all the backlash, you have no sense. Our world is not fragile, our world is strong. The fact that so many people can come together from different backgrounds and religion is a beautiful thing. You need to get a reality check, and understand this world is changing. And WE are not about to sit around while this man strips us apart.

Except there was a ton of criticism of Obama, I'm not sure why republicans are trying to claim there wasn't. Want an example of a celebrity constantly speaking out against Obama? Try our current Whiner in Chief for size! He spent the last 8 years retweeting every silly conspiracy he could come up with in order to delegitimize Obama, everything from birtherism (which Trump actually spearheaded himself) to being a communist to Obama being a muslim and lord knows what else. As for criticising Democrats, how did you miss the shitstorm aimed at democrats voting in favor of some of the crazy picks for Trumps cabinet? Don't pick and choose what information to use when telling other's not to pick and choose

Even when watching this vid, I'm trying to keep my frustration in check (and I'm one of the most placid individuals going.) the difference between actors and plumbers giving their political opinion is most actors aren't seen as having difficult jobs and are paid to be pretentious and just look good on a regular basis, they're sheltered from hard-living and haven't really earned giving an ego-platform award ceremony political speech on top of it

fine, but 1) those people are extremely rare (i.e. born exceptionally poor, lucky and talented), 2) audiences aren't always aware of the backgrounds of actors before they give speeches and 3) you have to judge whether they've lost touch with their humble roots over time and if their new wealth corrupted them

As a liberal, this is the type of liberal shit that pisses me off. Diversity goes beyond just 2 colours, but people like this women and others only care about there skin and no one elses. But they are also the first ones to complain about how others don't care about them. If you think that the oscars is "diverse" because it nominated more "black" individuals, then you don't know what diversity is.

I'm confused about Piers Morgan. The only thing I know about him is that everybody hates him and that Jeremy Clarkson was fired from Top Gear for punching him in the face. This is the first time I've seen him talk, and I found him surprisingly calm and reasonable, but everybody else on the panel kept snapping at him and being incredibly rude... Can anybody fill me in on why it's OK to hate him so blatantly and just sneer at everything he says?

Piers is an unconsidered fuckwit who deliberately follows lines of questioning to fan controversy without any actual journalistic merit, he never researches any of his strongly held positions and is repeatedly exposed for lying or making up "facts" and "statistics". He's a screaming polecat with very little to say.

He was the editor of a now defunct newspaper here in the U.K called The News of the World and was responsible for some very dodgy and indeed illegal editorial practices as well as allegedly fostering a culture of bullying and intimidation, sending photographers to harass people he didn't like etc He was caught up quite seriously in the phone hacking scandal when it emerged the paper had tapped the phone of (among others) murdered schoolgirl Millie Dowler, however he claims to have had no knowledge of this. He was eventually sacked as editor for refusing to apologise over the publishing of supposed photographs showing British servicemen abusing and torturing detainees in Iraq, he went front page with a doctored photo of a solider supposedly urinating on a captured Iraqi with his head covered. Apart from any of that, he's an over-inflated tit with a bafflingly binary world view who has desperately clawed a post-editing career out of saying stupid, ill-advised, untrue and distasteful things to a triggered majority for attention, it's frankly refreshing to see him trade a better set of manners here but that may be because of the company he is in.

Even if you absolutely have to let morons vote, and btw im such moron too, as im not educated enough to call shots about policies, because i didnt spend years and years actively studying law and politics, then at least dont let morons advertise for shit they have nothing to say about other than speaking in hashtags.

Actors should take care with how informed their opinions are should they choose to voice them, as should we all, but to suggest that actors should just focus on acting, keep their opinions to themselves, and stay out of politics is insulting, entitled, and naive on the part of Piers Morgan. He's asking people who express themselves for a living to not express themselves. How... humorously counterintuitive. I would think of all people he, Maher, and their ilk, particularly those in the news profession, would recognize the power a person with tens of thousands of followers and fans wields when they're given a microphone and a soapbox. Will they attract more followers or convert those who disagree with them? Maybe, maybe not. There's no way to know for sure until you say what you have to say and see how people react. So no. Don't stay quiet. You've got a microphone, use it. Stay educated, yes, as educated as possible, but don't just do your thing and assume you don't have the right to share your opinions with others, especially if you're given an opportunity.
