    I have a question from an individual who is scheduled for a LIMB surgery later this year : QUESTION: I will be on narcotic pain medication for 7-10 days. Would you recommend stopping the OM during this time around surgery? How long can you go off OM before hair gains would be negated? ANSWER: The medicine should be stopped 2 days before. If you are taking medication that can elevate your blood pressure you need to stop medication. Best wil be to talk to your anesthetist at the time of pre-anesthetic evaluation and he will regulate the medicines for you. You can safely stop the medication for 7-10 days without any issue. I am posting the reply here (while maintaining your privacy) so more patients can benefit.

    What do you think of sublingual method of delivery. The clinical trial done by Sinclair Dermatology so far seems quite promising.(Opinion part I am not a doctor) It seems to bypass the liver and and go straight into the bloodstream through the mucose membrane this also seems to make the side effects virtually nonexistent. It appears to be a excellent happy medium choice. I would enjoy hearing your feedback on it though as i am not a medical professional i merely look at the data (which of course could be skewed)

  • @hairtransplantinindia

    @hairtransplantinindia

    2 жыл бұрын

    Sublingual delivery of drugs only bpasses the first pass metabolism. Once they dissolve their active ingredients are in turn absorbed idirectly nto the bloodstream. The advantage is that they go into action very quickly since they are diretly absorbed into the blood stream. But they do not bypass the liver/kidney! None of the touted medical advances in hair loss since past 15-25 years have withstood the test of time. They just have one function- they keep hopes alive!!

Im also microneedling my hairline to get regrowth. I dont want to apply topical minoxidl bc of my fastly irritating scalp. I would start taking 1,25 in the morning and in the evening. Im a healthy young (24) and extremely fit guy. Very informative video, Dr. Bhatti. I've been on Propecia for about 10 years now and stopped Topical Minoxidil because I has SMP done on my scalp in 2017 and 3 more sessions last month. I want to try OM and see if it works better than the topical version. I had 2 hair transplants done by another doctor in 2015 in India. I was about to come to your clinic, but decided to go to another doctor in Delhi. The hair grew fine, but I am certain he cheated me. In 2 sessions he transplanted 7000 grafts, but it looks more like 3000 grafts. I know an average person has 8000 grafts as maximum donor count so there is no way he transplanted that much hair. He is a well known doctor (I'm sure you know who I'm talking about), but he is very shady and was also quite rude to me. I really wish I came to see you instead. You seem like a genuine person and I know you're a fantastic surgeon.

    Thanks for the kind words. Before starting OM, do get a ardiovascular assessment done. It is a prescription drug because it needs periodic evaluation of condition.

    Any scalp irritant will cause increase in the size of blood vessels and they will bring more blood to the scalp which will in turn lead to more hair regrowth. It is like the action of Minoxidil.

    That depends upon what your doctor has prescribed you since both are prescription medications. I seldom if ever prescribe both OM and Dutasteride. My patients beenfit tremendously with strategised Finasteride protocols alone. You may like to watch: kzread.info/dash/bejne/lYSLz8qkiajPhdo.html

    I Heard that topical Minoxidil will loose its effect in 2-3 years. How is IT with oral Minoxidil? Will it have its effect a Life Long?

  • @hairtransplantinindia

    @hairtransplantinindia

    Жыл бұрын

    This is not true. topical Minoxidil is a vasodilator and does not loose this property. Oral minoxidil is fine if one takes it only after prescription from a medical doctor after getting their BP checked. However, oral minoxidil is known to reduce BP and can have a side-effect eg dizziness/ headaches or fainting. Hence, I would not advise my patients to be on oral minoxidil lifelong.

    Results can differ with oral minoxidil like any other drug used for androgenetic alopecia. It all boils down to your physical constitution and metabolism. You need to consult with a doctor since this drug is risky and needs evaluation of your cardiovascular status beforehand and then supervision by a knowledgeable doctor in the field..
