Cutting happens because physical pain and emotional pain cannot exist at the same time. Something my child’s therapist taught us is instead of cutting have her stick her hands in a bowl of ice because it has the same effect. This was genius! Years of going to the Dr and in and out of therapy we never received a simple answer that was so powerful. Also helping your child understand why they do it helps as well because sometimes they don’t know. Gaga explained it well when she said “ Tell me, don’t show me”. Often times your child is just trying to show you they are hurting. Also I learned that if they cut in certain places it’s because of certain trauma they have been through so please keep a close eye and get involved. It’s not just for attention and it’s not just a phase. I’m really grateful they talked about this!

Omg this is exactly what happened to me it started feb 15th 2019. I went through a psychotic break yelling at doctors asking them why does know one else see how much pain I was in. My neurologist laughed at me and said I was making things up I just wanted to get a check. I felt like my family turned there back on me I was in a dark hole. When i looked in the mirror I didn’t notice the person I was looking at, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia on my bday dec 11 2019. I have been trying to educate people on fibromyalgia I call it my invisible disease i have had for over 20 years and because there is no way to detect it so I have keep this pain to myself for years until my brain couldn’t take anymore. It’s a of work trying to keep on track this interview helped me feel like I’m not alone. Thank you 💜💜💜💜

There's so many people that come to light with this fibromyalgia - and it has been an excuse for many so they don't have to work and are all fakes in it. The real and truthful reason Lady Gaga feels this tiredness across her body is because she has such a hectic lifestyle and so may more stresses just like the rest of the world and the people that are here. It isn't a new thing - people have been feeling tired, exhausted and achy in their bodies since long a go and is part of growing older with our bodies. There are reasons for mental health problems but no one wants to really see the truth of it and one of my friends who works in this sector has told me about it - and the world will continue having them because of how people treat each other unless this changes.

Gog is my special sister. I too have fibromyalgia. And I think we’ve had about the same time. Period when she started talking about her body hurting did her there and there and then it was never so consistent really gave me some new breath. She made me feel like I was not crazy. She made me happy to be alive. It’s difficult to get up and know each day that whether you were going to be able to handle the day or not. Some days you were so tired and expend that you just want to lay in bed and sleep. That pretty much equals a no cold day then there are the days when you wake up and you feel not so bad but you have a tooth that’s bugging you and it won’t stop bugging you and now it’s good it’s whole center of evil in your brain and you can’t kick it so there go to family dinner. Or you could have a hip ache which makes it very difficult of you to get up and down. Difficult to move a bed around without a limp which is noticeable and you know other people notice you and makes you uncomfortable. There is our days and I probably you will not believe me but there are days where my hair hurts I’ve had my toes hurt I have the insides of my elbows hurt I’ve had my neck hurt in such a state that I went and had a fusion on my neck I have two shoulders that are not cooperating and starting to hurt quite badly so the list goes on. It took me four years to find out what was wrong with my body. I went from surgeon to surgeon to surgeon. I finally found a rheumatologist in Seattle who gave me the reason to why I was having such crazy responses OK so you get that crazy response and here’s what happens and then what are you supposed to do. How are you, sitting out in the field, nothing to help you but a bunch of grass and a little creek. I wish people would write more about the after facts of having fibromyalgia diagnosed they need to know about their bodies. What they are going to live with in the next 3 to 4 decades. And sometimes not even knowing what those resolves might be. Keep a happy face gaga. I think of you often.

Such a horrible thing to say. Just because she has mental issues and struggles with pain and battles with alot of demons doesn't mean she is crazy or deserves to be in a mental institution. She is a very sane and wise woman that deals with all this and still wants to help others. She is so kind and sweet and you are clearly evil if you think all she does is just attention seeking. Shame on you. She is so vulnerable and sensitive and that is why she suffers but it is also the reason why she is so inspiring and so talented. She is a genius and her emotional sensitivity transcends this realm. So her success comes with a price. I believe in her. She is pure and amazing 😘😍🤗

In 2011, I was 17. I was in highschool. I was in love with my straight best friend. I was living in a town in Syria where the mere mentioning of "gay" was forbidden, laughed at, and in some cases deadly. I struggled for so long with depression, doubts, self hate, self disgust, and shame. I attempted suicide for a couple times but (luckily) failed. I had no one to talk to, not a single therapist or healthcare professional in town who was able to take care of me, and not a single friend I could confide in. I distinctly remember the first time I saw "Born this Way". It was and still is the single most important moment of my life. Seeing Lady Gaga and hearing what she has to say was fucking powerful. Thanks to her, I'm now in a lovely relationship with a guy I love, live in Germany, practice medicine, and have dedicated my life to take care of gay youths. Thanks alone can't even begin to give this woman her true worth. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Today she is my favorite performer and one of my favorite human beings of all time. She not only fills in that cartoon, but she absolutely fills my heart with joy more each time. I love you, Lady Gaga, the world is super lucky to have you and we Americans are so proud to call you our own.

This interview has been such a blessing for me. I also had a breakdown 3 years ago, and I'm slowly trying to rebuild. I went through something similar, feeling pain and doctors finding nothing wrong with me, although hers might have been more severe. I feel better now physically, thank God. I thank God for leading me to this interview because I admire Lady Gaga for her courage to fight and to keep going in spite of the pain and telling me it's okay to be where I am now. I never paid much attention to Lady Gaga . Loved her music and her exceptional talent. But I never really “looked” at her in a compassionate way. She is a superhero. Bringing mental health to light. I suffer from fibromyalgia and am also in constant pain. I applaud her for going at this head on getting answers. It takes a village.

When she said some days I have a lot of self love, some days I don’t, I just broke. I’ve been making myself wrong for processing the trauma yet still having “days”. It’s so powerful that you’re speaking about this. A court situation is also what triggered my PTSD and I enrolled in school for psychology and law. I’m a domestic violence survivor who has to deal with the man who abused me (we have a son together) Bc I wasn’t brave enough to bring charges. I want to be in this room with those powerful people - I’m creating domestic violence family law reform that requires use of psychology in the law. Currently survivors can’t talk about mental health because the abuser uses it to claim the mother is unstable and takes custody! IT IS A CRISIS in our family law systems and thousands of children are ripped from the hands of the beaten family member and placed in the custody of the abuser. Phenomenal conversation! Thank you Oprah, thank you Lady Gaga.

I'm so happy Queen GAGA speaks about fibromyalgia and sharing her experience about mental health. I've had fibromyalgia for 24 years now and depression with anxiety on and off, made my career as a visual artist unbearable to a point where I had to quit my career and stopped working altogether (I was an art teacher too). Listening to her makes me want to start making art again and doing what I wanted to do in the first place, to touch people. THANK YOU DEAR GAGA, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! ❤
