This video has helped me tremendously. I’ve been overweight most of my life, including my childhood. I’ve always felt “less than” because of my weight. I’ve joined and quit Weight Watchers at least 25 times and I’m 64 years old. I reached goal weight in 1982 with WW, but gained 100+ pounds since then. It wasn’t until last year, my doctor advised I have metabolic syndrome and that is why I am not losing weight. I tried Rybelsus last year, lost weight, but had horrible side effects and quit taking it after 6 months. My doctor recently prescribed Mounjaro for me and I am hoping it will finally make a difference. I rarely leave the house as I’m embarrassed about how I look and feel. I look into the mirror and don’t know how this happened and barely recognize myself. It wasn’t until I watched the ABC Oprah special, it was my AHA moment. It’s not my fault, I have a disease. I need to treat this disease with compassion and learn how to love myself for the first time. After finishing this video, I am a bit frightened that I won’t be able to get the Mounjaro due to shortages. I will continue to watch this video as it’s the first time in my life, I now know I have an illness and will be treating my obesity as a disease in which I will use every tool available in the toolbox to fight this.

Taking away in-person workshops in my location has destroyed the community that had been so supportive and encouragement. It is impossible to drive 100 miles one way for a meeting. I tried several virtual meetings and have never felt a connection to the members. I have tried sharing and listening. It’s just not the same as sitting across a table or next to the same people week after week. I have been a Weight Watchers member since about 1987. I made Lifetime in 1989. WW has come a long way in their approach to weight health but some changes has helped some people and some changes have hurt some people. I have not been able to attend an in-person meeting since March, 2020, when our meetings were closed.

As a WW member, I've seen zero changes since this conversation. It's still the same ole jargon discussions during the workshops with members still talking good and bad foods, and the coaches not reformatting that discussion. I was really hopeful to see some shifts occur around the conversation but so far, nada.

How is she endorsing weight watchers while taking ozempic shots? Why do people allow celebrities to lie to their faces? This BS hero worship makes me ill.

Fast foods, factory produced over procesed food, huge portions in resaurants, sedentary life styles, not educating children about nutrition. The list goes on. Look at the difference in people in the last century before all of the above. Obesity rates have surged in that time. We have shifted in the way we get our food and how we spend our time. Easy quick fixes and less activity. How many children come home from school and imediately have access to snacks then sit infront of a game or tv till bed?

I wish people would stop using any tipe of drug or diet to lose weight. It is not a long term solution. Calorie deficit and training your mind to start exercising is the only way. Stop telling people you lost the weight in a healthy way. Living healthy starts in the kitchen not the drug store. Stop making them rich

What do we say about women who have binge eating issues Who weigh 500 lbs we're saying we should not make a choice for someone else but clearly just like anorexia could kill someone so can being morbidly obese we should never shame anybody but the same time you cannot tell me that somebody that's 500 lb is not killing themselves every day with what they're eating. What do we say to women who are in this situation if we're sending the message now that you should just love whatever body you're in. Don't agree with shaming anyone or judging everyone is obese I have been there I have done it all but at the same time I don't think telling people it's okay to be 500 lb and not do anything to try and change that is okay either

Next special. How do we change “The System”. Dealing with insurance companies that don’t cover these medications or doctors that don’t recognize this as a disease is HUGE. It’s one thing to talk about all of this but we all have to live in the reality that right now this is a privileged medication.

Weight watchers realising that big pharma is about to take over their jobs so they made a pivot. This is not about being caring, it's a sales pitch for a rebrand. Funny how no one is talking about the harm the drugs are doing to so many bodies. They care about the harm personal accountability does to people that regain the weight but not the damage that drugs do to people's bodies. It's all about the money.

After listening to the livestream “ making the shift”, I made the decision to quit WW for good. I am done with it! “ when you know better, you do better.”. WW has found another way to make money. Thanks to my lifetime yo-yo dieting and all the different WW programs over 25 plus years, I am at my heaviest weight. I was shamed as a community meeting leader for not being able to maintain the ideal weight range and told to suck it up, try harder and use more will power. It had very little to do with will power. It was my body reacting to the yearly “ new programs”; which weren’t improving anything just going from “ low fat” programs to point systems to green, blue and purple and tracking all the extra points. I am tired of all of this. Good bye WW!

I dont think less of myself or call myself negative names. I just dont like the way I look. I am exercising and doing weight watchers and started going to gym again after a year of not going. I love doing weight machines. I love me just not what I allowed to happen to my body.
