"Hello" is A Untouchable beautiful masterpiece by Amy Lee. It's soon much pure raw sad emotion written by Amy after the loss of her sister that died at age 3 from a very rare condition.

Recordings of Amy's voice do not do her justice. I've seen her live and she is phenomenal. Such an amazing, hypnotic, strong voice and an exceptionally talented lady

This is how I see it. Yes, she is the victim of suicide from depression in this video. She is a spirit as she never touches the ground. During the video, she is almost always laying on her back (car roof, roof top, awning) as if she jumped from a ledge. (Walking on the ledge of the fountain and being up on the roof) The guy who ends up at the piano (who’s perspective Amy is singing) also looks up to the buildings roofs for his lost love. This video can just be analyzed a thousand different ways. It’s just a beautiful song any which way you view it.

Nearly 20 years later, the bridge of this song hits me in my core exactly the same. Amy has such an amazing skill for writing emotional bridges...they've all stuck with me for years.

I remember in an interview years ago Amy said Ben wrote this when he was like 9 or 10... I thought that was amazing! ❤️

Lithium is another Evanescence song you should check out if you haven't heard it.

The word I think of to describe this song is “haunting”. The way she uses her voice to emote is just simply incredible. Amy is such a phenomenal vocalist.

I think her near exclusive use of straight tone (which is damned hard to maintain for a full song) gives her a really ethereal sound which adds so much to it.

Her voice is very Haunting . Her feet never touch the ground, she's a Spirit.

Just inject Amy Lee's vocals into my ears every day. Don't care what she's singing, just one of the most incredible voices. It's almost criminal how often she's forgotten about when talking about the greatest vocalists in the world.

The live performance video of this song is really amazing. It really shows Amy's talent.

My old Drama Teacher was her vocal coach she's an amazingly talented singer

Oh gosh. The one thing I have noticed about Amy Lee’s voice is that she puts so much emotion into the lyrics so you end up getting hit with all the feels. Another song I recommend listening to if you enjoy Amy lee is her song Love Exists. ⛲️

Listen to the Synthesis version - it is incredible how much her voice has matured, and how much deeper, richer and more mature her voice is in that song. The strings are incredible as well. There are a lot of versions/mixes of this song from their demos, etc, but I never thought anything could surpass this specific version, but I think the Synthesis version surpassed it. The Synthesis versions of Lacrymosa and End of the Dream also have some of the most incredible vocals I've ever heard (at least to my untrained ear). Never Go Back (both the original version and the Synthesis versions) also are full of raw emotion.

The song video I watch everyday is Freedom Live on 02-14-20 from Shibuya (?). This song allows all of these ladies to show their skills. The three main musicians are all trained at the Juilliard equivalent and they taught the founder of the band, Miku, how to play rhythm guitar after she formed the band. An probably the most personal song she has ever written, it's for her sister Bonnie. From my understanding there is very few clips of this being sung live, as she breaks down everytime.

This kind of song by this kind of artist just... it gets you. You can't NOT feel in a song like this. She is so ethereal. It makes you cry sometimes. Edit to add. Your voice with hers gave me chills. I can't even explain it.

Evanescence has so many good songs. You should check out Lithium, call me when you are sober & use your voice.

So , it`s almost 20 years from they release this song ( 2003 ) , and also 20 years of listening this song , and still have goosebumps everytime she sings the song . When you sung over part of the chorus midway through, I was looking away from the screen and initially had to double-take and check whether I had some kind of audio feedback going. The blend was so good that I could've sworn there were moments I heard phasing. :)

When this song first came out I was in a very bad relationship and I connected to it on a very personal level. It was like she was singing every feeling in my brain. Now that I'm in a great relationship, it reminds me of where I was and how good things can be. Never give up on yourself or love. It's real and it's out there and it's in you. Love yourself. Seriously, one of the most beautiful things about this song is Amy's backing vocals and layers. If you do listen to it, it blenss seamlessly into the strings.

As a father of three talented children, all adults now and with children of their own I had to share this experience. I can not wait for their reply's.

I agree, pain and innocence. I had a dog “Sam” that passed away in early November and this song is like speaking to me but yes pain and innocence, he was an innocent dog I miss him a lot.

Great react Maggie - well done! Amy Lee - what more can you say - up there with the greats IMHO - excellent voice and the songs are so emotive. A song that you would cover very well I think! If you love Evanescence, may I suggest Lacrymosa live from the Synthesis show, it incorporates the Lacrimosa from Mozart's Requiem, which has always been a favorite of mine, ever since I watched the movie Amadeus. Very interesting modern take on a classical piece.

This song takes me back to my teen years as well, when I started to get into Rock/Heavy Metal. Part of that was because of this song; that part towards the end. I just love it. Thank you for this. :)

⛲ This song was about Amy losing her little sister who died very young. When you listen to it knowing that, it's a much bigger impact.

Amy is a very good vocalist. She can sing with power or whispery soft vocals very well. But songs like this are right in her wheel house vocally. She can just rip you up with that pain in her voice. Then you add in she'll sing a higher and lower part actually harmonizing with herself. She will some times sings 4 or 5 parts of backing vocals. It's a very special sound most singers can't pull off. It might be her great gift as a singer.

Always love to see some Evanescence and I like you all the more to see you sing it! ⛲️ Really any further Evanescence reactions will be great, but if I was to choose one maybe Lithium?
