Monae Jones I agree with you there...if the woman doesn't have any viable eggs they usually use a donor egg and a different surrogate. Using the surogate's own egg was bound to lead to some kind of problem. Edit: it's pretty easy to grow attached to a child you grew in your body even easier when it's your own flesh and blood....they should have used a donor egg

She is much more of a parent than the people who commissioned this child’s conception, gestation, and birth. She did the gestation and birth. Even if the egg wasn’t hers, surrogate mothers are biological mothers. Gestation is a 40 week biological process. All kinds of messages, nutrients, everything goes in between the mother and the fetus during gestation. The idea that surrogate mothers aren’t biological mothers is absolutely appalling. The idea that a “traditional surrogate” aka a woman who has plans to sell her biological child which she has also gestated and birthed, is most certainly a mother. Not a great one in my opinion but the baby traffickers are much more ethically corrupt than the surrogate mothers, who are being used for their bodies

Not everyone can carry there child so that mean they shouldn’t have kids or someone who is not even related to the child can keep them because They birthed them. How are they being used for their bodies they are the ones who have to sighn up through a agency and under go extensive exultations and they get compensated.

That baby has more of a connection to the surrogate mother than the couple who exploited her.

7 years? The child is 7 years old now, they can't just take her away from her mother despite the events. She's formed a bond with her mom, wtf

No, you're wrong. Only the father donated the sperm. The surrogate used her own egg. That's why there's such a debate around b/c the law considers the surrogate to be the actual mother since she's the biological mother.

That is explained in the clip. No, legally the mother is the mother. She is the genetic parent, the gestational parent, the birth parent. There would either have to be a surrogacy contract or an adoption in order for the baby trafficker’s wife to be the legal parent. David is legally the father of the child. Not his wife.

Wow. Thanks for addressing this. It is, without a doubt, the biggest nightmare of the IPs. They struggle so much in their lives to reach this point where they apply for surrogacy. The application and the other relevant formalities of the program take up enough time and energy. Imagine doing so much, and then ending up with no baby. This would be so disappointing.

This is really weird! I can't believe they had to go through that. This is why it's important to go through with a proper clinic. A background check is also very important on a surrogate. I'm still shocked. This is the dark side of surrogacy! I really hope no one has to go through with it.

If God forbid I can’t have a child, I’m doing closed adoption. I’m not putting my body through that or use a surrogate. Personally, I’m not attached to the idea that the baby has to be related to me for me to love them. Obviously everyone is different but that’s just me. There are sooo many kids in this world who need a loving home.

In some cases you may be asked to prove that that you have permission from the Children's Protection authority of the country of the child's birth. If the mother has a different citizenship from the country in which she gives birth, then that doubles the paperwork.

Okay, in the beginning, this was unfair and I understand the pain. However, 7 years old, 7 years she has grown up with the mother. So long as this child is being cared for, at this stage, the best interest of the child is to stay where they are, how traumatic to uproot the child now.

The child needs to be taken away from that woman. She stole a couple's baby, betrayed their trust AND forced them to pay for it. She is extremely selfish and disgusting. She shouldnt be trusted with children, let alone raise one.

Security in some cases means they lock the woman into a facility and force them to give up the child. The hormones women get during the pregnancy bind them to the child, so even if they agreed to it, they still want to keep the child later and feel a great sadness when they have to give it up. I think surrogacy should be illegal because of the pain it causes the surrogate. I think if a woman gives birth to a child it is hers, even when it does not have her DNA.

Surrogate mothers are indeed amazing mothers ever. They sacrifice their everything for other's feelings of happiness. but sometimes surrogate mother did refuse to hand over the baby to the intended parents. if they had to refuse then why the give hopes to the infertile. it is really a heartbreaking situation.

That's the reason that you should always look for the contracts first. If there is no contract you should stop. I had an interaction with the IP who went for surrogacy with BIOTEX.com. They said that there was an open agreement. And that's what the initial steps they took. This actually makes me feel better.

I'm a surrogate and the intended parents stopped all payments and communication once they were born at 30 weeks and 4 days.

This is extremely strange! I can't trust they needed to experience that. This is the reason it's imperative to proceed with an appropriate facility. An individual verification is additionally critical on a surrogate. Regardless i'm stunned. This is the dull side of surrogacy! I truly trust nobody needs to proceed with it.

Surrogates should not do this. They should sign a contract befor doing anything. Issues like these should be taken into account. It is not is that someone else is taking your child. Laws and regulations should be strictly followed.

That's why legals are 100% important. And look into who's carrying your child. A lady I know just gave birth to a preemie baby, didn't take care of her self and was constantly in and hout of the hospital for pain meds. That baby is going to have issues. Don't be so desperate to have a child you skip steps. Get to know your surrogate and don't trust agencies to do background checks, do them yourself. It will save you in the long run. I am a surrogate and hide nothing from my guys from medical to personal.

I think they’re more just letting public know that if your going through with finding a surrogate do so in a smart matter not rushed. Aka lots of contracts and don’t use surrogates egg unless you went full depth in contract

Like she knew she was headed for divorce wanted another baby but needed financial support to do it!! Hello, I hope you are living happy and doing awesome. Surrogates some time do for humanity and some of them do for the money. But in both cases its hell hard to handover that happiness you carried in yourself. So due to some state or the legal issues, the parents have to face the circumstances. When surrogacy is legal you are free to go but when you are under restriction then you can't do anything then you have to move to some other places where you easily have the baby. The best choice for the women if she is infertile then shes must choose the option of surrogacy or the IVF.

Really....Nine years she had no missed appointments or missed medication. You feel she is unfit. That is a sad...sad...sad shame. They should be liable to reimburse all expenses associated with this.

This is why I wouldn't be emotionally strong to carry a baby for nine months and give it away. if you want to be a surrogate mother you have to be sure you're STRONG ENOUGH. Don't mess with a couple who are giving you all the hope for a baby.

For me, that's a three parents babies. Surrogate is a birth and legal mom to many countries. To be fair, women has a relationship with baby 's dad. . She is the only women wants the baby. I think $459 is not that much and this is why adoption is important. Why did they want another one when they were blessed with some already? If the wife could have loved a baby that wasnt her egg....they could have loved a child that wasn't biologically theirs...
