Almost guaranteed. Like I know plenty of stupid people exist and all, but I work in a public school and I know most kids could answer most of these questions. I wouldn't guarantee they'd know things like how many people are in the US or any politics based question (I've seen him ask VP before) but the simple math and such they could. Don't give up all hope on humanity. I will add an asterisk that I live in a pretty conservative area so there isn't a lot of the political murking that feels up classrooms in more liberal areas. I can't speak for those.

Commented this on the last one but it’s the dark truth of media my friend. The more likely scenario is that they target specific groups based on said group's ignorance (or fears) and use that to remain in power. I'm not sure exploiting people is something unintelligent people can do, and this notion goes beyond any one politician to include the vast majority IMO.

Until recently I was a science professor and my wife a high school teacher. We both quit education because you can't fix stupid. It's all about Gen Z's feeling - we're not allowed to fail anyone - so this is what you get.

As an EMT, part of my assessment for head injuries/altered mental status are questions such as; "How many quarters are in $1.50?" "Who is the president of the United States?" "How many hours are in a day?" etc. If conscious, not getting questions like these correct can indicate possible trauma or other medical emergencies... If my questions are helping us decide if your brain is bleeding or you're just uneducated, our country is in bad shape.

It's not just happened in America. It's like this in my country too. @@onnugget it's public school. What they teach should be done up to 7th-8th grade. High school should be university like a lot of other countries do. Public school only takes a basic teaching degree. So the pay is lower. While technical schools, universities, colleges should actually have teachers with real world experience and get paid more. Private schools and tech usually do.

This needs to be the rule for all countries: In order to vote, you need to pass a basic civics test. Putting it bluntly: People this dense shouldn't be allowed to vote. Any democracy filled with a big percentage of these people will turn things for the worst no matter what. Time will tell. Edit: Just to be clear, I'm talking about taking a test just like residents have to take when applying for citizenship. You don't have to know everything, just a general idea of why your country is in the place it is right now.

The US actually had one. But it was considered racist since black people who had spent their entire lives in slavery understandably didn't know many of the questions. So rather than fixing it, they just did away with it. But imagine how it would be abused though...imagine the question "How many genders are there?" and then preventing people from voting when they provide the correct answer of 2. Hell, "Recession" no longer means what it meant for all of civilization, nor does "Inflation." So maybe it's not so bad that there's no test designed to cater to those who have been indoctrinated in "New Speak."

I’m 26. Thankfully it was not like that for my school. However so many kids ditched or did not do how and ultimately failed high school. To prevent the drop out rate they decided to go this route as well. Really such a bummer for these kids. Knowledge is power. Even the most basic knowledge. 🙄

If you can't figure out that these videos are not real then maybe YOU are one of the people that we all must live amongst. I'm dumbfounded that people forget we learned the trick to these kinds of videos a long time ago. It's a numbers game, ask 100s if not 1000s of people and edit together the string of 10 or so people that gave dumb answers who might have even been instructed to give dumb answers. And what's worse is you test this yourself by going out in the street and ask these same questions and you'll see that most people know the answers to them.

I have never forgotten the words spoken by an elderly British gentleman, in the year 2000, when discussing politics. I am 66 and I would have ansered all these questions correctly even the American specific ones. I am Canadian and we used to have a pretty good education system. I don't know what kind of shape it's in now. When I was 30 I went to college and we all had to take a mthematics test and an English test. The English test was mainly identify the grammatically correct sentences . they had 1) I done that last week 2) I did that last week. So no verb, adverg, noun, pronoun, predicate of a sentence type questions. The mathematics questions were all just arithmetic and order of operations questions. I swear that only people who had just graduated Highschool failed those tests and had to take remedial English and math.

This is just sad. They should make students pass a test like that (trivially easy questions) before graduation. If they can't get >80% of them right, they have to redo the year. No one benefits from cretins graduating. And as long as they can, they don't feel the need to change the system.

Most kids don't meet testing requirements for graduation already. So they instead either have to score high enough on the SAT, pass the ASVAB (military version of testing) or other type of assessment, or what a lot of kids do...go to a "remedial" class their senior year where they are taught the exact testing questions, can use those notes, and then take a 2-3 question assessment on those questions that the teacher reviews before submitting to the school who then submits to the state. A lot of people don't really know how dumbed down it truly is already. What's happening in education is truly sinful. And before people blame teachers, this isn't coming from them. Teachers hate the system and think it's a sham.

I agree, but instead of to graduate, they should have to pass a simple test like this, say 20 questions with at least 16 correct answers, or one like those that immigrate legally here to become citizens take, in order to vote.

I'd go further. They would need to get 100%. These questions are simplistic. Come on, when was the War if 1812? You should at least say 1812, even though it was from 1812 to 1815.
