OLED & Mini LED Price Crash - Best HDR Monitors
Believe it or not, you actually don't have to take out a second mortgage to afford a brand new HDR monitor in 2024. That's right. Prices have been absolutely collapsing. It seems like every single week, especially the more entry-level HDR monitors have been reducing in price, at least a little bit. So today let's take a look at the best value HDR monitors that you can get ranging all the way from under $300 to in excess of a thousand dollars under under $300 in excess of a thousand dollars.
And let's start off with the AOC 27-inch mini-LED gaming monitor. Now I have reviewed the vast majority of monitors on this list. However, this is I believe one of the two that I have not, but this one comes in at roughly $280 and for a mini-LED display that has 336 zones, which isn't a lot of zones, but it does appear to have an HDR 1000 rating. That is a crazy price. Getting into HDR 1000 mini-LED for under $300 is something that I couldn't believe we would actually see. And not only that, but it's 180 Hertz. Now, of course, I can't comment on the firmware or accuracy, but the specs themselves do look very, very good for this monitor. But let's move on to one that I actually have reviewed. And that's the KTC mini-LED 27-inch, a 27 inch HDR 1000 1440p 165 Hertz gaming monitor. This is also a crazy price.

I got this one too. in the low $300's after tax. I didn't like the out of the box settings but after putting on HDR and messing with tthe black equalizer I'm really impressed. I can't find any true HDR gaming monitor in this price range, with mini led and 500+ zones being the icing. Also I really valued the USB-C since it works so well with my Laptop's thunderbolt 4 port and gives 10 bit 1444hz

That is why all LCD TVs with Mini LED disables most ones in game mode. Simply too much input lag and image quality drops off a cliff.

For Image quality tbh based on my untrained eye watching SDR & HDR Netflix videos looks very similar… only some scenes the Innocn colours had a slighty brighter shade which some may perceive this as less contrasty colour compared to ASUS which is slightly less bright … the Innocn with that 1152 FALD does a great hdr job

Problem with this video is that almost every product you're talking about here isn't available on most local web stores in Europe. Which means you have to order from Amazon and depending on the country's import and customs rules you'll end up paying almost as much as one of the more premium monitors that you can find on the local web stores. And therefore it can actually be counterintuitive for most customers.

Some good choices here, but as others mentioned, this is for US only. For the EU, no such thing as 1152 dimming zones miniLED IPS exists. So for the EU in the budget range there is the AoC, there are 576 dimming zones IPS monitors with horrible blooming, and the S tier miniLEDs are the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 and G8, which are 800 euro each respectively. Also OLEDs are around the same mark at 1440p, about 800 euros.

Ive tried it on the new 4k oled monitors, old IPS monitors, that support HDR with HDR games (very limited group ik) and it always look trashy. Only thing that looks good is those videos encoded with HDR on KZread. But like someone else said windows HDR just sucks.
