for me it comes down to VRR flicker issues. I have tried 3 different OLED monitors and they have all had issues with VRR flicker. It seems like locking it to 120hz alleviates most of this but why would I pay $800+ for a 360hz to then limit it to 120hz for it to work better. I am sticking with my 240hz IPS g-sync ultimate display for now. VRR is a mess on these OLED monitors. For TV I love my OLED but for a monitor it's just not there yet

The Aorus QD-OLED monitors I reviewed are advertised as being flicker free and I had no issues with them personally

Dope video. I'm LG Oled all day. Every TV in my house is a LG Oled. The contrast and black levels win me over every time.

Picking wrong isn't that big of a deal when both are fantastic. I sometimes get way too caught up in picking the perfect product, when I'd be super happy with plenty of the ones out there.

Environment, Preference, and ultimately….PRICE. I’ve had OLED TVs for the past 8 years…and it’s true, once you go OLED it’s tough to go back. Yet, I’ve recently picked up a… (wait for it)…TCL QM8 and I’m totally impressed with it…for all 2 of your reasons…Environment & Price. Yeah, I do have a preference for OLED…but the aforementioned reasons makes this mini-LED a keeper. So, basement theater for serious watching….77” LG OLED For casual family watching in the bright living-room….Mini-LED. Overall….great video!

Went with the X93L as of a few weeks ago. My living has tons of natural light. X93L still gives you all you want with the blacks. Sometimes I feel LG and crush the blacks.

I own two Sony OLEDs, 55 & 65 inches, love them. They are the best TVs I've ever owned. I now moved to a bigger space and placed an order for a 85'' Mini LED X95L. Both technologies are great. I am not a gamer, I mostly enjoy movie watching on my TVs. Had Sony had the A95L in 83'' that would've been my pick, but they just don't exist yet and I want to stay in the Sony brand.

I have. 75 in Sony x85j purchased the year it came out. Excellent tv, looking now for my bedroom leaning strongly towards 55” 80L; waiting on a better price especially considering it’s a 2023 model. I’m locked in because I want to experience an OLED.

First person I’ve seen talk about environment and 100% agree. Replaced a 10 year old QLED with OLED LG C3 because it looks amazing. Main tv in living room is in a bright room with lots of big windows and lights reflecting. Tv looked great at night with lights dimmed or off. After a few weeks I had to return it for a mini LED Samsung. I do think OLED is better but mini LED is no slouch, looks great, and works better for our space. Most people online just say OLED and make changes to the environment instead. Just not worth it so I can have OLED when miniLED pretty close in performance for 99% of people.

I bought the Sony A75L over the A80L, $500 cheaper. The picture quality is the exact same as the A80L. The differences are legs, fixed that by getting the OEM legs from A80L, yep, they fit. The speakers are a step down, fixed that with my Sony Soundbar. Built-in microphone with hands-free commands, fixed that by linking an Amazon Echo device to the TV, now have hands-free controls! If you are looking at A80L, do yourself a favor and save $500

Hear me out and I hope people read my comment before picking OLED. I’ve had a few OLED sets and every single one of them has had no burn in and no image retention but all have experienced dead pixels all over the screen. OLED is an organic material and it breaks down with every use of the television. It’s kinda like the old Plasma TVs overtime they become dim because the gas particles can no longer be charged as bright. The pixels in OLEDs die from being constantly charged and forced to make light. If you want a tv to last 10 years don’t go with OLED. The picture on OLED is amazing but until they can figure out away to keep the pixels from dying I’d recommend going for a high end QLED set it’ll have a backlight and possibly some blooming but if you get a high end set and not a cheap set the blooming won’t be noticeable and it’ll be brighter making HDR better. Look I also love the blacks of an OLED but the dead pixels is a big turn off. At this point I’d recommend a high quality QLED set.

@@stevanstanojevic3213 if moneys not an issue I’d recommend the Sony Bravia 7 or 9 it’s an QLED set and the blacks are pretty good hardly any blooming at all they are Mini LED sets. If you really want to stick with OLED try the Bravia 8 it’s an OLED from Sony. If cash is tight try the LG C3 the C4 is not much of an upgrade this year the C3 will save you some cash. But just remember all OLEDs will get dead pixels at some point I’d know ive had like 5 already I’m kinda over it lol. I got the Sony Bravia 7 and I’m kinda impressed I’d say the blacks are like 90% it gets very close to an OLED and is much brighter.

What type of content is available to feed 8K? I would be interested in finding 8k content to feed a 8k screen. 4k content has become more available but still dwarfs 1080p and 720p availability 🥲
