Hi Tammy & Chris! We apparently are having breakfast for dinner this evening. My crew have taken over the kitchen to make biscuits this evening. A couple are making them on the stove: a couple have a small Blackstone grill fired up and are baking a batch on the grill while a couple of my cast iron skillets are being used to make skillet bread, One thing for sure there will be plenty of biscuits to go along with the sausage, the hash browns and the cheese omlets we'll enjoy this evening! Thanks for the demo of baking biscuits on the stovetop! A good cooking skill to have.

...and also to save home energy costs. I hesitate preheating oven to bake because our Jan. ‘24 single digit temps will make for higher electric costs! I’ve heard after 8pm the energy costs is less and thus is when you should run wash, dry, dishwasher and oven for baking. When I oven bake, I usually make it a Betty Crocker Day and bake muffins to freeze, biscuits to pop in freezer and a cake!

Here in San Diego, CA. we have one of the highest utility and water bills in the nation l. They have told us that gas and electric is less and they would appreciate us not using it between 5p.m. and 9p.m. every evening. That's okay for me since I am retired but moms that work outside the home are just arriving to their residence to cook dinner and get caught up on clothes washing, homework and bathing the kiddos, it's tough. But I'd play along with bills being so high. Maybe quick dinners, sandwiches or breakfast for dinner.I'm almost 74 (yikes) so I don't have to worry about kids anymore, but I really feel for these families. God Bless them all. Love 💕 from Debbie and Dexter-Dog my sweet tiny rescued Chihuahua 🐶 companion living a quiet crafty life in southern.🐶💕🤓🐰💞🥰🧑‍🦽💌🌵🐣🙏🏠🙋👍🐾🐥✝️

When we had a woodstove, we would often lose power in the winter. I would bake biscuits, and cinnamon rolls on top of the stove, along with a simmering pot of pinto beans, or soup, and a pot of coffee in an old fashioned percolator. I kind of miss that. Swaggertys sausage is the best!

For me this was cooking like my dad did when we were camping.. Yep he taught me how to make these.. Love 'em! ❤ The lesson went right over my brother's head. You can tightly cover pan with foil if you didn't bring a good lid.. But always bring foil when camping.. Can make lots of good things wrapped up inside like.. cut up dinner (kielbasa) sausage and potatoes with onions and bell peppers or whatever else you want. 👍😍 You should do one of your outdoor bbq cookouts when the weather is better.. but before it is too hot..❤ Maybe fish too..😃
