Evercade isn’t just a device. It’s a cool little community and the developers put a lot of blood sweat and tears into their carts and ports. They really did something special with the Duke 1 and 2 ports.

Evercade is doing some very interesting stuff. It's very nice to see them continuing to expand and I even like the introduction of the Superpockets as a cheaper line. Keep it up Evercade!

I got the Capcom pocket. I love it! I am very very very happy that more modern type gamed like Duke Nukem work. Evercade is everything the Coleco Chameleon and Intellivision Amico were supposed to be.

2023 has been a great year for Evercade releases. Can’t wait to see what comes out in 2024.

Duke Nukem 1 & 2 Remastered gives me hope that maybe Evercade could get a collection of Apogee's recent remasters of classic DOS games like Monster Bash, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure, Crystal Caves and Secret Agent. Maybe even Wacky Wheels! XD What I'd really like to see is more of a long shot - a Commander Keen collection.

I’m impressed with these Hyper Mega Tech handhelds! I have both and love them and always play them. The price is great for what you get. Only nitpick it the buttons on the back, they are in a weird location and the ridge above them gets in the way. But in general I am enjoying them greatly.

I grabbed the first one (though it hasn't shipped yet). Didn't know the Collection 2 was releasing at the same time and it's sold out on Amazon now. Guess I'll have to wait for that one.

For what it's worth, analog didn't exist on ps1 when these games were released, so they were literally developed for the Dpad.

@@degolocsta18DegoLocc i mean, i just got done playing total meltdown with my ps2 analog controller (and yes its true analog.) if your mean 1-2 and the gba one sure but all the other titles used the analog stick excessively

I may get the first one, but only because the remasters are only confirmed for Evercade. Which sucks, because I really want to play them on a computer, just like old times!

I heard that the cartridges for the evercade are not real cartridges and that they are just flash memory like a usb drive. Is this true?

Duke Nukem gets all the babes

It's nice that those games run on the handheld, but I would need twin analogue sticks to enjoy them (other than Duke Nukem 1 & 2). I really like what Evercade is doing, but I don't have time to play those games.

At 60 bucks, it's going to be a while before they are priced lower than that.

These game cards look so much like Game Gear ones. Let's plug them in and play Duke Nukem on my Game Gear! ;) The cases look quite flimsy. Brings me back to Mega Drive cases an how they were improved later in its life, but with the Saturn they started over with crappy cases no matter if EU (cardboard clued to plastic) or US (bad plastic that easily breaks). Only later EU cases are solid, like the the ones Shining the Holy Ark and Dragon Force came in. With all this talk about Switch game cards maybe not lasting very long, I wonder how long the Evercade ones will last. Also with the labels in the "inside", potentially rubbing against the Evercade when getting plugged in or removed, I wonder how quickly these will get damaged. PS: The Evercade VS and the EXP most likely use the same SoC (same 1.5 GHz clock rates too), so it's no suprise that it also runs well on the handheld. The original Evercade is 1.2 GHz, so maybe it might run into issues if the games need the faster SoC.

Is total meltdown considered the best "DN3D?" interesting choice. Cool stuff, I keep not getting the Evercade. I want one but I feel like I'm going in too late and the earlier games would be hard to get

Duke Nukem: Total Meltdown was the title of the PS1 port of Duke Nukem 3D, which I heard wasn't a great port, but I wonder how well it runs on Evercade. The one major issue it had on the PS1 was frame rate drops.

@@ThunderDragonRandy I'm a big Duke fan, my brother in law at the time had a PS1 so we rented the game from Movie Gallery, and I was really a let down by the game being a chug monster to play because of the frame rate issues, but if you get beyond that It's an ok Duke3D game, but nowhere near as good as Atomic Edition on PC.

Depending on where you go, you might pay somewhat of a premium for some of the older carts, but nothing too ridiculous. Maybe the Namco carts and others that were discontinued would be more expensive.

It was on PsOne so would still be accurate control scheme for the time. A lot of these collections I just have to put my mind in the right place before playing.

Yeah, when he was playing the gameboy advance one it looked like a right struggle to actually aim at the enemies. Duke3d should be played with mouse and keyboard or maybe duel analogue sticks. Dpad is horrible for 3d games.

Does duke 3d use ps1 emulator, or it is a native port? Does it contain dlcs and world tour?

It's emulated. It has the ps1 extra episode plug and pray.

If they're going to start giving us 3D titles on the Evercade, they should definitely put analog sticks on it. Trying to play 40 Winks was a nightmare

Yeah, the cases suck. I also got a few that won't close on one side. Got my delivery 2 or 3 days ago, bought 31-35.

I was tempted to buy both but seeing that Babes and the other are 3rd person I'll just bite on 1 & 2 remastered and go for the 3D outing. I usually like 3rd person more but I prefer FPS Duke. I was first introduced to Duke Nukem in 2D so when I first saw the 3D one I was like "Huh?". The original Duke didn't have as many of the typical trappings of the 3D one but I have fond memories of playing it via Shareware. Definitely still has hidden stuff. While Manhattan Project in 2D is fun I wish they would have been faithful to original in looks(not as primitive though) and gameplay. For the latter Manhattan feels more action based run and gun while the original was MUCH more a platformer first with those action elements in addition.

The cartridges work with many devices, including a home console that outputs in 1080p, and 2 handhelds with HDMI out that output in 720p.

These evercade carts cost as much as the irem collection you were complaining about being greedy in a recent video. I'm wondering what the difference is that's causing your change in attitude towards it?

It's not like the switch irem collection isn't going to have physical so I still don't know why he had to be quite so negative in the previous video.🤷‍♂️

The difference is that they announced 5 Irem collections instead of just one or two. There is an Irem collection for the evercade that has 6 games on it, and they are better games (they have In the Hunt on there for instance).

I think the evercade looks like a toy it looks cheap it doesn't look like something I want to run out and spend money onn in a sea of better more premium handhelds with ROMs free games that you don't have to pay for. With grown-up design. something that has that prim and polish like an iPhone 5 design no one wants this cheap see through plastic all yellow plastic buttons that just looks like some kids toy when obviously these games are marketed towards people of your age anyone who remembers these games are in their 30s and 40 now start making the consoles reflect that I don't want some cheap plastic piece of s*** handheld Ambernic got the idea steam deck got the idea kind of still plastic .you guys really need to step the design process up and stop with all this cheap colorful plastic make it look professional make it feel like a piece of jewelry with a jewel on it the glass should be The Jewel in Case by the jewelry give the glass real glass rounded edges edgeless design no Chin on the top or bottom just all screen obviously beside the sides of the handheld where the buttons go. Design it like a phone in a you know how the phones all screen in the middle no bezels then like the Keyshia controller on sides make it professional beautiful I'll grab it in a heartbeat then and put money into the games

The Evercade is the worst handheld I've ever owned. Lines on the screen, dead pixels, light bleed, screen bleed, bugged games, firmware almost impossible to update. Awful. Report it to Blaze on their socials and they'll reply by blocking you. Awful. 1/10

got the first collection and plan to pick up the second. these carts are awesome
