what you are looking for is PP+GF15 rod ....that is what BRP calls polytec ....I have been welding these for years , I no longer use hot air welders anymore ,I weld with nitrogen ,but if you are welding your own ski a hot air welder will work fine.

Here's a thought... buy a jet ski with a fiberglass hull that is much stronger and never have to worry about this.

Plastic repair is MUCH cheaper. Compare the cost gelcoat/paint/fiberglass repair done by a professional to a plastic weld that could be done by just about anyone (maybe not perfect but effectively). Yes fiberglass is stronger, no doubt, but I'll stick with my lightweight easy to repair plastic hull.

Ummmm I think you totally missed the point.... Repairing the plastic hulls is easier and cheaper. Heck. You can probably replace the whole hull pretty cheap.

@@zkilla4611 I have owned jet skis made out of fiberglass for the last 30 years and not once have I had a single failure. The plastic hulls from Sea Doo are no where near as durable as fiberglass, and that's a fact! :)

@@DIYDanCars I know many people with the new polytech hulls. You have to do something really dumb to damage one. Same for fiberglass obviously. Just lighter. I don't foresee ever needing a repair unless someone hits something hard. Same with fiberglass.
