Reliable tuning is dope! I used them when I tuned my trixx to 120hp. The guy even threw in custom inlay stickers upon purchase. But that was in 2020, since then I sold the trixx and got a 2016 rxp300. Good video !! Made me miss the spark a little bit.

Martin at reliable has been my go to since I bought my 2018s new.. I just went from 60 to 90 and felt those pups just jump out of the water.. in fact I just received my de- winterizing kits from reliable..

Hey Jesse, Love the videos, keep 'em comin'. I just bought a 2017 Trixx and found out that it's leaking water and oil into the bilge. Any idea what could cause this or how to diagnose it?

Thanks for watching man! I am not sure I have not had to pop the top on any of mine yet. Water in the bilge is no big but obviously oil needs to be addressed. These are pretty simple machines so I wouldn’t be scared to open her up and see what’s happening. You could hit up @reliabletuning and see if they are aware of any known issues.

You have sport mode right? It only gets up to 120hp though. Will not see a lot of speed increase as sparks are not for speed, but acceleration wise yes.

I’m kind of confused on the rental aspect? Do you get to keep the tune forever after you send the stuff back?

Correct. You are just renting the equipment to tune the computer. Once it’s tuned it’s tuned and you don’t need the equipment anymore unless you wanted a different tune.

I love it takes the ski to another level. I can pull a tube and go like 40mph and just the ski goes about 48 49 mph max at 4600 feet. A lot more bottom end to get the front up better and super easy to install. Would recommend if you got the money

Would it be possible to drag someone for water ski/wakeboard with this setup?

Depends how good they are. I could wakeboard behind it for sure but I am a rider who knows how to help a tow vehicle. If you have an untalented lunk trying to ski or board for the first time and they are over 200 lbs you’d pry have an issue.

so if a spark hits 50mph with a 120hp tune, what will a trixx hit with the 120hp tune ? since its already hitting 50mph with stock 90hp? asking bc I'm on the verge of purchasing my first jet ski :)

Do your research on how speed is calculated on sparks. My money would be on whichever machine was lighter including driver.

They are the exact same lower hull and almost the exact same weight. The mods have the same effect on the Spark and the Trixx. If you are chasing top speed the spark is not the platform. Even the 120HP tune, impeller, airflow goodies etc will only get you to 58 or so (if you are under 200 pounds riding). The size of the jet pump, short and basic hull shape and other things have a big effect.

Im guessing they toned the rpms down cause seadoo are junk and it helps them live. I might put one of my 1100 kawas in my spark. That would be cool having the reliability of kawasaki with the light hull of the spark

Pretty cool, so does that mod just increase the RPM's, seems crazy to me you can double the hp w/o opening the engine and turning wrenches.

Honestly it’s pry just an rpm increase. But when you think about it a faster wholeshot and higher top speed would typically equate to a higher hp so it’s pry one in the same. 🤙🏼

It’s a complete remap. The 60HP to 90HP (+sport mode) is a simple parameter unlock and then Reliable Tuning is a complete remap - it’s not “just an RPM boost” 👍🏼

@ John Spooner. Apparently you Dont know much about motors 899cc can definitely handle 120 hp ramp up even 130 if you know what you’re doing!! Most street bikes that are 900cc run between 120 & 140 HP!!

you made getting to the diag connector a chore, its simple reach your hand back around and under and it unplugges.

Hey man! Honestly I just fill it when it’s empty and don’t really track it. I got a trixx the other day and ran them both last night on full tanks and when we pulled them out the stock trixx had less gas in it. You could hit up @reliabletuning and ask if they know exact numbers. 🤙🏼

You need an new impeller to take advantage of anything over 100HP on any Spark.

Mine runs 50 stock. Both of them.

Would a tuned 90hp model be faster? Or would it be the same because they have the same engine

You will get a few MPH increase, but it's mostly acceleration and holeshot. With any 120HP tune you will really want an aftermarket impeller to get the most out of it. Moral of the story: don't chase top speed on Sparks.

Because early 2000's jet skis were 2 strokes, they were lighter and didnt have all the emission crap that the modern jet skis have. They also used tons more fuel.

At 3:27 you said touring mode is now an option I thought sparks always had the option between touring and sport mode

300 dollars is a pretty good deal for those gains but I am pretty skeptical about the reliability. Unless there are major emission/legal concerns I cant see why the manufacturer wouldnt give you similar reliability from the factory other than reliability concerns.

Adding more performance from the factory = higher price. And probably reliability/longevity decrease also. That's why all the supercharged PWC don't last nearly as long as the non-supercharged models.

@@gunnerneikoify Yes but also an engine manufactured to handle more power is going to last longer than an engine you just slapped a tune onto. Not to say you can't modify a vehicle and have it be reliable, just usually when there are substantial power gains on the table through a tune there is usually a good reason the manufacturer didn't take them.

i feel like all that tune really did was just dump fuel into the cylinders... but what do i know im just a truck mechanic, (im not marine engine inclined but i presume they work the exact same with a couple differences)

Modern engines use computers to control fuel delivery, spark, timing advance etc. The 60 hp model is the same engine as the90 hp but detuned. These tunes just adjust the components listed above. It’s no different than changing jets, intake manifold and cam.

Speed is really limited by the impeller and RPMs. I think the tune raises RPMs so that’s probably where the extra speed came from. A different impeller would prob raise it more

I have a 3 up trix there fun machines that get up and go. good luck finding anything that does what it does for 7 grand I didn’t buy it to go 80mph!!! New flagship jets ski are over 20k now that’s ridiculous! I bought it to have fun and not have to worry about scratching it lmao. owned it 3 years have no complaints
