Seadoo Spark Hull Repair
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Plastic welding my wife’s spark hull. It was previously repaired by a shop. This is what we call plastic surgery
We used a harbor freight plastic welding machine.
Ordered 30% fiberglass plastic rods
Welded the inside and outside
Sanded the outside

Drew Kenning thanks man! Yea we all get in there! 🤣
Following your lead I picked up a heat welder, grinder, bits, and some of the reinforced repair strips. Total about $150. I've repaired LOTS of places on two Sparks including the tops, hulls, seat bar, and seat support. THANKS!! One thing I did differently - I picked up a small electric heating iron that has a little triangular brass pad that heats up. After welding in the flat strips, I go over it with the iron and smooth it all over. This greatly reduces the sanding needed, and in some places looks fine just like it is.

Heck yea man! Get in there!!
Funny how Sea-Doo’s advertising say if there’s ever any hull damage you can simply just replace the hull. I commend you for your repairs as swapping hulls is not ‘simple’ as the advertising says
Hello I was thinking of buying one from copart with hull damage. How would you recommend fixing a circular hole? Fiberglass patches?

Getting some of the same plastic to fill the hole and weld it in would be my best guess without seeing
Have you tested it, and was there a specific plastic welding rod that you needed to use?

Tested it tons! No cracks looks like the day I did it. Yes it’s on plasticsolutionsuk.com you need PP + GF HAS TO HAVE GLASS FIBER that’s what makes it strong

The new plastic isn’t bad easy to fix and extremely light weight I absolutely love them now. We do a lot of crazy stuff and they hold up up damn good. Plus the handling is insanely better!
How did it get broken?

Got T boned by another spark that was on the brakes slowing down and hit at like 15mph. I bought it with the shotty repair done already

@@CocosPlayound gotcha, I've yet to see a Spark broken without a collision with a dock, boat, pwc etc. People keep saying the hull is weak...I'll believe it when I see it.

Yea we beat on them pretty hard and go some places people wouldn’t go on a plastic ski but we don’t care. It was a patch up job that I had to go back and fix I don’t think it would have broken either. Just posted a new video of some exploring
