Officer Helps Elderly Woman Get to Her Hair Appointment

A Tennessee police officer took an 84-year-old woman to her hair appointment. While on a routine patrol, officer Lance Hoffmeister saw an elderly woman walking down the side of a busy highway. The woman, Elizabeth Hood, told the officer that just had to walk an extra mile to her hair appointment, because the bus only got her so far. Hoffmeister offered to drive her all the way to the salon, but his good deed didn't end there. The officer says he'll pick her up in the future, too.

This is how every police officer should be, there to protect and serve the community they work for.

I just love how determined this woman was to get to her hair appointment. It was important to her! And of course the generous offer of the officer to make sure she has a ride for future appointments! Love this!

Finally, a story of an officer doing a good deed. Never enough of these stories in the news although they happen daily. A big thank you to this officer.

This just goes to show that police duty doesn’t always revolve around criminals, tasers, guns etc. Sometimes it’s just about helping a poor old lady get to her hair appointment 👍

That melts the heart. Doesn't matter how old us ladies get, getting our hair done is important enough to walk a mile with a Walker. Now this precious woman always has a ride from a good man.

The best video I have seen all year. The officer's parents raised him well. And I'll bet grandma is smiling big. It should be a requirement for all police officers to get to know the communities they serve by walking through them and allowing people to know them.❤
