See 23-Year-Old Help Scared Elderly Man Down Escalator
A photo of a young man helping an 83-year-old down an escalator is warming hearts across the country. The elderly man was frozen with fear as he stood atop an escalator at the Holyoke Mall in Holyoke, Mass. That's when 23-year-old Alonzo Johnson stepped in, locking arms with the senior citizen and helping him down the escalator. The older man was terrified to get on because of a previous frightening experience he once had on an escalator, according to Johnson. #InsideEdition

Now that I'm older when I go out I look down and try to avoid eye contact as sometimes people will be abusive and threatening. I've had rocks thrown at me by kids just for fun. Awesome. This young man is a blessing to society
Now that's a real American citizen.respect
I love that he has dreadlocks and blonde tips and was wearing that shirt... he fits the description of a young black man that "people" in this country fear... but he showed everyone something different than what the media usually portrays... good job young man

Me. And a mob of cops damn near beat a young Black man coming home from work walking through the park possibly smoking a small amount of weed which if your caught you get a summons. Not a kick to the face and punched and stomped the cops were no better than the lousy teens that beat and robbed the girl

This actually happens alot. They just glorify negativity to trigger masses. Unfortunate but this is extremely refreshing.

This country does not respect elders like other cultures. The fact that this even made the news is sad in itself, this should be commonplace!

AmericanPatriot I agree I have told my husband the way he talks with his parents would be slapped in my country. American culture really needs to rethink about the way they interact with elders. In my culture you respect and care the elders otherwise people can kill you by spitting on you. Seriously!
