See 23-Year-Old Help Scared Elderly Man Down Escalator

A photo of a young man helping an 83-year-old down an escalator is warming hearts across the country. The elderly man was frozen with fear as he stood atop an escalator at the Holyoke Mall in Holyoke, Mass. That's when 23-year-old Alonzo Johnson stepped in, locking arms with the senior citizen and helping him down the escalator. The older man was terrified to get on because of a previous frightening experience he once had on an escalator, according to Johnson. #InsideEdition

N B That’s true. I was behind a woman at a restaurant. She was paying and forgot her credit card. I paid her bill. It was under $10. She wanted to pay me back but I told her just to help someone else. It’s what we need in this world today.

You know they literally posted this because he’s black and the older man is white 🤦🏻‍♀️ I see this at times and I’ve done this myself because I’m a nursing assistant at an assisted living. 🙄 if it were a white 23 year old no one would bat an eye lol

This was normal when I was a kid. The fact it makes the news actually makes me sad. I knew, even as a 7-year-old to stand up for an elderly person on the bus and to offer to help them. Now that I'm older when I go out I look down and try to avoid eye contact as sometimes people will be abusive and threatening. I've had rocks thrown at me by kids just for fun. It's not me personally, I like to take a walk from time to time and kids throw rocks at everyone.

@Nashiuz Nashiuz The news sometimes covers small stories for whatever reason. It’s not uncommon it just doesn’t get reported someone must’ve reported this to the news because they found this touching. No one gave him a Nobel peace prize, sir. There’s nothing wrong with our country.
