I don't know who made our 3DO, but from the look of the Panasonic Real one, I think it was Panasonic. Mine didn't top load. Daddy got us one for Christmas. I had no idea it cost $700. If I had known that, I would've respected his wishes and not gone snooping around for my presents. :'c We had Myst and Station Invasion. Myst was more for him, Station Invasion was for us. And you can unplug my controller Benny Boy, I don't mind! Haha I didn't hear any audio glitches in that thing Benny Boy, but I'm not as experienced as you. That just thrills me that you're so good at this A/V stuff that you have an ear for it. Such a sweetheart. I don't get Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, the girl was all sexy but the guy kept his clothes on? Is that the best adult games can do for objectifying dudes? I don't really play video games anyway. And LOL at Vivid Entertainment and their high budget intro, you're a porn producer, where's the saxophone? I agree with Lieberman, Daddy had Night Trap for Sega Genesis. He let me watch when I was little and I really don't think he should have. Game was fucked up and I never forgot it. Mad Dog McCree was totally what I needed after that. LOL shooting the undertaker. :P Cheap fuckers. Congrats on getting through another video game episode! It was only loosely a video game console though. c:

I too owned a 3DO system, and from my experience with it to this day I still find it strange that the best games on it came from Electronic Arts (maybe it was because Trip Hawkins was one of EA's founders.) I would have loved to see what the M2 could have done, but it wasn't until playing Total Vice (a Konami pseudo sequel to Lethat Enforcers) at my local (now defunct) Dave and Busters that I got to see the M2 in action, and considering the long load times it had, I was disappointed. But yes, the 3DO did have its share of good games: Wing Commander 3, Road Rash, FIFA Soccer (the first of the series to be in 3D, and came out to rave reviews, even winning Best Sports Game by several well known publications,) Shockwave 1/Operation: Jumpgate/2, Immercenary, The Horde, Samurai Shodown, and Super SF2. It was even where Crystal Dynamics got their start in the industry.

The idea of photocd is to have your own photos on a cd, not to buy them. You would bring in your film to develop (no digital camera's back then) and instead of (or additional to) getting prints on paper, you would get a photocd

I couldn't get my hands on a working one either. Bought a broken one cheap, replaced all the capacitors, put new thermal compound on the voltage regulators, replaced the drive belt, replaced the fuse, AND adjusted the laser voltage to spec, all so I could finally play Gex after seeing it in gaming magazines in the 90's.

As for Mad Dog McCree, I admit I never played the 3DO version, but if you want visually unappealing, you should see the Sega CD version. I also had the DVD Video version which looked quite impressive (no surprise as it was going from LaserDisc to DVD) but the controls were terrible. It was more fun to just watch the game rather than play it.

Not 3DO but Night Trap related, sometime around the late 2000's to the mid-2010's, I spent an entire summer playing Night Trap on a Sega CD emulator, spending hours upon hours playing that game until I had done one play through where I had trapped all of the augers ,all of the vampires and saved all of the girls. After finally getting that one perfect play through, the ending I got was the good ending that I had gotten half a dozen other play thrus where I had managed to trap most of the villains but still one had escaped. One had supposedly escaped during my perfect play thru too even though my capture meter read out I had trapped every single one. Either the Sega CD version never had the perfect ending or there was a glitch with my emulator, lol.

I remember when it got banned. i ended up selling it back for 300 bucks to a used game company. They released a watered down version that really sucked. Sewer Shark was also cool. The guy who played the boss was in the movie "Die Hard 2" as the airport police chief. lol

I never heard of 3DO around the time of it's lifespan until I looked at Naughty Dog's past titles before they released Crash Bandicoot on their website in 1999 (or 2000), which is Way of the Warrior (one of their past titles Naughty Dog developed for the 3DO). Shame that the M2 never came out, part of what sunk Kenji Eno's WARP. They made Enemy Zero a Saturn exclusive and lost out because of it, sunk a lot of money into making D2 for the M2 but had to scrap everything when the console was cancelled then did an unrelated game called D2 on Dreamcast which ended up being 1 failed console too many for them.

For the time, if you had the light gun, it was the closest to arcade you could get for the time. Nowadays, the Wii port is fairly accurate.

Man, I used to work at a retro game shop, and we had a 3DO in. If I'd known you needed one at the time I would have been more than happy to let you know about it. Oh well.

Does 'Plumbers Don't Wear Ties' even qualify as a game? It's more like an interactive slideshow.

It's part of a genre of video games known as visual novels, in which the games are basically overly long cutscenes with the occasional decision-making. Popular entries in this genre include Clannad, Katawa Shojo, and Fate: Stay/Night.

well the 3do was at least a better attempt then the shit cdi for a gaming machine. I remember that most kids where intressted but the 3do was yust too expensive to take off and people prefered to stick with the brands they trusted at the time. Esp after we have seen the philips cdi failing big time.
