So I'm actually kinda surprised Ed didn't have anything to put in white text as Ben was trash-talking him. Maybe something about there not being any "Dirty cheater" qualities? IIRC, Stop Thief actually came out in the Late '60s ('68 maybe?) It was a board game where an invisible thief ran through stores and you had to figure out what square he was on before you could arrest him and get the money.

artistwithouttalent: I played that on a camping weekend somewhere around 1980 and enjoyed it greatly.

Ben should continue reviewing board games and such. I've noticed recently that he's strayed from technological oddities from television, to a more broad variety of oddities in other aspects. I think that it gives the Oddity Archive more flavor, and keeps the show from becoming boring and dull. Does anyone else agree?

@3:12 -- Ah, Dark Tower! My family used to have that game. I loved playing it -- I still have a couple of the pawns from it that I repurposed as D&D figures after the tower finally went kaput.

When the boy cousins(me) visited the girl cousins, I played this. Though I don't remember there being any money, just the Debit Card. I always played as the girl who wanted a snake, since the edition we played had no boys to play as.

That ending is hands down the best part. "You're stuck with me now, Benny- boy!"

I couldn't breathe from laughing at the Demonic Version of the 1991 Dream Phone Board Game Commercial!

I remember playing The Omega Virus at a friends house. That was another one of the many electronic board games available back then.

I would pay money to witness a table of the worst inmates playing mall madness.

Dark tower is amazing. My uncle still has a working one. We play it every Christmas. Damn brigands.

There is an updated version of the dream phone, realesed in the early 2000's that has a design simalar to the Nokias at the time.

I had Mall Madness and Dream Phone. My mother got them for my sister and I back in 1998. I don't remember playing Dream Phone all that much, but we did play the hell out of Mall Madness. And we also had Jumanji, Dear Diary, Girl Talk, Gargoyles The Movie Game, and Party Mania.

Most people in the English-speaking world only know the 1970 version done by Mel Brooks, but it was also adapted in Italy, Germany, Iran, Britain, Czechoslovakia and Poland together in the 1930s, and done as both a movie and a TV miniseries in it's home country of the Soviet Union. And each version sounds more interesting than "Mystery Mansion."

The speech synthesis of those 2 games is pretty remarkable.

Jovan Mitrić Myeh, just ignore it. I've actually been getting "Kirby: Right Back at Ya!" recommendations recently. I suspect it was something to do with the millions of copies of Code Lyoko's "A Space Oddity" episode. Anything with the word "Oddity", or a similar-sounding word such as "Odyssey" gets suggested, as well as any loosely-related content.
