Thank you for covering this! I've had a few people in the StreamFX support actually use this Software for strange reasons, and encounter wild issues anywhere from performance problems to outright impossible errors (hinting at modified installation packages or binaries). All of the issues vanished when the official installers were used instead of this weird software. Not to mention they contacted none of the plugin authors at all about anything. Instead they opted to copy and paste the content from the OBS Forum onto their own website, and repackage several plugins in different ways - possibly with modified binaries. Very scummy behavior.

Hello, thanks for the advice! I've actually installed this and updated a couple of plugins right before this video popped up. Is it possible to remove all possibly malicious plugins just by reinstalling (without uninstalling) from trusted sources? Thanks

@@TheStandingStreamer Yes, uninstall it. If you had the software update or install plugins I suggest you remove those as well. If you don't want to deal with that re install OBS. back up your stuff first.

@@TheStandingStreamer TSS, well the updates, and downloads do require that you click the button on the program for it to happen. Do you remember doing that with the Starscape OBS Manager? FYI: This program could be a Chinese government spy attack. No joke man. Don't take this sh*t lightly. I almost fell for it.

Based on what you and the unnamed source who replied to you were saying, I assume I should also remove any of the plugins installed via this app and then download directly from the various sources? P.S. Thanks for this info. P.P.S. Not only was this convenient for managing, but it also made it easier for someone new to all of this (like me) to learn about various plugins in the first place. Oh well, glad to hear that it will someday be built into OBS.

Hey, I need some assistance. I want to insert a self made video, created on final cut, into my meeting. I insert it as a media source. When I activate the screen it begins. But it plays well, but without any audio. I have an audio, music, track included. I produce it in FL save to my drive and call that you as media source. Okay, you now know the details. Where did I miss the link, or otherwise screw up?

Ed, do you see the audio moving in the Mixer? If yes, I think the issue is that the sound is muted. Right click the gear next to the track representing your video. Select "Advanced Audio Properties" find the audio track representing the problem video. Under the "Audio Monitoring" select "Monitor and Output"

Good on you for not falling into the "most" part. Homie... *edit to add: Everyone should learn to do their own due diligence to protect themselves because alot of the things online are more than they appear to be at first glance. Don't gloss over warnings from your AV, do a keyword search to be more aware of the potential for trouble. We don't go looking for trouble but the internet is the wild west ,100% untamed.
