Nuts and Psoriasis.
Food is essential in the prevention and treatment of psoriasis, when you consume the right amounts of nutrients can help your skin to grow, regenerate and heal.
These nutrients needed to keep the skin in a healthy state are copper, iron, zinc, iodine, vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin C, selenium, omega 3 fatty acids.
Psoriasis is a disease that causes an inflammatory reaction of the skin. The diet to follow is based on foods with anti-inflammatory properties and avoid those that favor inflammation.
In general the diet for psoriasis should be rich in fiber and low in fat, diuretic, an alkaline diet, rich in vitamin A (beta carotene), vitamin D and C, antioxidants, magnesium, calcium, zinc, selenium, copper and iodine.
For this the diet should predominate in the following foods:
Vegetables such as legumes, whole grains, vegetables and fruit.
Vegetables such as salads, vegetables boiled or steamed.
Dried fruits as they provide magnesium, calcium, selenium, copper.
Food rich in Beta carotene such as carrot, pumpkin, mango, tomato, blueberry, papaya, blackberries.
As the consumption of olive oil has to be moderate it is recommended to be fed with Omega 3 fatty acids consumption of 30 grams daily of walnuts.
Selenium is found in large quantities in the Brazilian Nut or also called Coquito of Brazil, with a single piece a day of this dry fruit is achieved the recommended daily consumption.
Also important are foods rich in iodine that are found primarily in fish, seafood and seaweed.
Zinc is found in asparagus, potatoes, peanuts and cashew nuts.
Alkaline foods in vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts especially almonds.
