One of the greatest bands ever. Can't go wrong with any of their songs.

This is my favorite song by them with a great message. Great southern rock band from the 60's-80's. It is very sad what happened to this band in losing so many members in a plane crash in 1977. They had lots of great songs such as "Sweet Home Alabama", "Call Me The Breeze", "Tuesday's Gone", "That Smell", "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew", "What's Your Name", "Gimme Three Steps", "Saturday Night Special" etc.

Ronnie Van Zant was a poet .

The lyrics to this song might seem a bit plain, but the message it delivers is so clear that the values in life can be achieved without going overboard. The way Ronnie Van Zant sings it, just makes it that more profound.

Their sound is distinctive that's why you hear Freebird. Tool sounds like Tool, Zeppelin sounds like Zeppelin. Classic

The last performance you should see is Freebird, 1977 Oakland, California. This was months before the plane crash. The drummer and the Oakland is not the original drummer.
