😭it made me happy how much two people in Romania enjoyed our boys of Southern Rock who's roots are half way around the world just 45 minutes from me in Florida. Simple, polite, family, God is the laid back Southern way.

This is my favorite song by this group with a great message. Great southern rock band from the 60's-80's. It is very sad what happened to this band in losing so many members in a plane crash in 1977. They had lots of great songs such as "Sweet Home Alabama", "Free Bird", "Call Me The Breeze", "Tuesday's Gone", "That Smell", "The Ballad Of Curtis Loew", "What's Your Name", "Gimme Three Steps", "Saturday Night Special" etc.

In 1977 we were devastated when the band were in a plane crash with only a few survivors. I was in high school in Atlanta,Ga., south near where Lynard Skynyrd originated from. They're from the wetlands of Florida near Jacksonville, though their 1st mainstream hit is "Sweet Home Alabama", which has a lighter feeling than this masterpiece. Love the reaction and good luck for many views.

You 2 have such sweet souls ❤❤❤. I cry right along with you 😢😢😢. I lost my wife of only 6 years in 1981 due to complications from the birth of our son. She was 25 years old and we both loved Lynyrd Skynyrd. She passed away 3 weeks after he was born. I am so sure she would have played this song for him. I had done it for her. He is 43 years old now and he is an amazing person and son. Play this song for your son and it might touch his ❤. Hope so for you him. Bless you both. And yes in the end love is the only thing that matters. Not riches or fame. I was born in 1953 and when I came of age people were so much kinder caring than they are now. Sad situation 😢😢😢 i wjsh the best for everyone ❤❤❤.

You both should check out Shinedown's cover/tribute to this band with this song the best way I can describe it is Nightwish's tribute to Pink Floyds High Hopes it is that good and I cannot recommend it enough!!Great reaction.

I couldn’t agree more with your recommendation. Both versions (the original and Shinedown’s cover) are absolutely beautifully done. To me the original is focusing on a great message and emotes a down home sensibility. The Shinedown cover really expands on the emotional context of the original’s message.

...and, again: don't ever feel embarrassed for tearing up or crying over a beautiful experience....that's what it was made for: to touch your heart and soul!! 💛💛💛 So meaningful and not a very important quality in our times, now. I'm glad that I am old enough to remember when just being the best human you could be was important, above all, and character meant so much. Now: it's how much you own, or have, and character has fallen by the wayside.

The story of this band is amazing. They truly were just coming into a phase where they were going to be writing their best stuff with guitarist Steve Gaines new in band and singer/ song writer Ronnie Van Zant about to stop the extreme alcohol abuse in band and so on. They were just trying to get to end of tour they were on and plane crash took Ronnie, Steve Gaines, Steve's sister Cassie , who was back up singer. Their deaths along with others on the crash was tragedy that still shakes the fan base to this day. The album released a week prior to crash had new tunes that were just steeping it up a notch. Steve's first album with the band. React to anything by this band and enjoy that it was made.

The original lineup lasted for 4 years and yes I know all about their plane crash in Columbia, MS in 1977. I went to HS right down the road. The Beatles were the first "pop" band and Led Zeppelin, as great as they were, stole a lot of stuff from delta blues artists. I do love Zeppelin but Skynyrd's music is just more timeless. Maybe because it's %100 original.

great to hear this song get much deserved attention. This whole album was like the soundtrack to highshcol back in the 70's. Can you believe it? I am now 65 and from Texas but was never a "country" fan. My generation had SO many options .. but this Souther Rock helped bridge the gap. Wore this album out. Great memories. Some things are timeless. You mentioned Charlie Daniels. Maybe he wrote it but I have no recollection of anyone else ever preforming this than Lynard Skynard. Never too late to learn something new. I have to go back and finish. So excited to hear this I just had to check in.

Great reaction 👍 Saw them in London 1975 supporting The Who,and they completely blew them away and got a standing ovation from the crowd.......Great band.
