Very cool groove! I have the SL MarkIII. I can get a beat going, but when I go to add synth or other soundsto my beat, the drum beat just changes to a synth making the same rhythm. I can for the life of me figure out how to chain sounds together. What button combination do you press when your done with a sound, then start to add another midi sound to the song?

Fuck yeah man, awesome groove. You have that special ear for something unique and catchy. Would love to see you add in deeper bass lines and weave in and out of emotional peaks and valleys as the music professes. I just bought one of these on eBay new in the box for $94.99.

Don't worry man. It's pretty standard with some extras that go a really long way. If you're gonna get this keyboard, why not stick with Lite for a while.

whati learned is that you have to try one at a time For example, just spend 1-3 days on abelton alone, study tutorials and learn all it can do. Then pick the midi of your choice and figure it out for a couple weeks Then start adding plug ins it takes awhile to learn before you can pick up and play

Just dip in and out every once and a while, you don't have to commit to learning it all at once. I was trying to learn how to use it for a while and I didn't get it, but I bought a midi controller that came with live and it kinda just made sense after that

Is that a custom skin for ableton?

Would love to see a tutorial on how you did this. Meaning how is it that you get your sounds recorded and then they just play continuously after, rinse repeat for the different layers. And, can you do something like in garageband? I'm a newbie on this stuff and right now I am learning on GB, and I am also considering buying this midi controller. Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm fairly certain you can't do anything like this in garageband. Ableton has a session view which is specifically meant for live performance like this.

The launch key will work fine as a midi controller in any daw but for live loop beat making and having prepared sets to be played live that’s an ableton exclusive. Novation hardware is really geared towards ableton users and it unlocks its full potential. Hope I could help, Cheers!

The session view is ableton exclusive ! If u get the launchkey mini then u get ableton live lite for free as a free daw ! You can do it ! Btw garageband is a Awesome daw and you could help it out too

How do all these videos manage to have no latency issues? Even with a brand new laptop, Ableton 11 and brand new Launchkey mini (using the midi-USB cable it came with) there is no way I'd be able to live-mix/play anything due to the length of delay/latency. (Any one have any advice on this issue?)

The controller is setup to work with ableton live session view out of the box, add you instruments to each track and you just tap one of the pads to start recording to it and tap it again to end the recording and it will loop. hope I could help, cheers!
