The Ninja 300 was the bike that first turned me on to the Ninja look. I'm 6', 220, so the 300 felt a bit small for me. I finally went with the 2015 Versys in white, kind of an SUV of bikes. I think the white bike looks awesome and stands out in traffic. Had my Versys almost a year now, so I need to post a video review soon. Your exhaust sounds great. Stay cool.

The Versys is a nice bike. I had considered it for a while but I'm not really into the bigger touring bikes. I have ridden the CB500X and loved it. I wonder how much I would like the Versys. Thanks man.

Hey wats shaking lol.......I wanted to ask what do you think a good size sprockets for front and rear I'm not looking into acceleration I want more top speed since I commute a lot on highway.....and aslo you should try an install a quick shifter it perfect for shifting ......I'm about to install a full carbon fiber fairings too cant wait .....

Your bike sounds great, the sliders look great too! I don't like a lot of stickers everywhere either! Go with Red! ;)

nice video. did you trim your seat. It looks like you did for some odd reason. I got a 300 se also but i bought another oem seat so i can trim since im about 5'3. hopefully i can get half my food down as im on my tippy toes.

+Blink My seat is stock. I have heard of people shaving seats to lose an inch or two. You can also get lowering kits that raise the clip ons and lower the seat height but moving the bikes position on the triple tree. You might also be able to get a lowering link for the back end. Do remember that lowering a bike can change its handling so do your research. I hope that helps.

So I'm an R6 rider, but kept wondering about these bikes. Had an 08 250R and didn't care for it. Yesterday I bought the '14 ABS model and LOVE it. Gotta get that backpack now 😜

For the K and N its washable Every 3-4 months you just have to wash it and oil it And you good to go with it

Oil filter for this modle IS disposable only, air filter is already a re-usable type!

How did you wire the heated grips? Purchased them from the link in your video and now im sitting here with no idea how to wire them.. lol i took everything off the bike..seat, fenders, tail fenders ... i also have the grips grounded on a screw but i just have no idea where to hook up the red wire, what wire should i directly solder onto?

+Zlurz Each wire should have a little loop at the end. Those loops are then connected to the battery tenders. There should be no soldering required.

K&N Filter is worth it. I've been thinking about a bigger rear sprocket for more pull. it lowers top speed but I've never hit the limiter in 6th gear so I probably won't miss much

Hmm, not a bad idea. I think it could work if you never did any freeway riding. If you are just doing city riding it might be worth the loss in the top end. Plus, better to stunt with. ;)

Great video! Thanks for sharing the details of your setup! You mentioned a winter grip mod, I understand the foam grips, but do you have electric heated grips under them? Just curious if I understood that correctly as it appeared you mentioned wiring. Do you recall your break-in of the bike? How painful was that to do? I understand it is 4K rpm for the first 500 miles and then up to 6K rpm for the next 500 miles. Did you deviate or stick to the owners manual recommendation? I just purchased a new 2015 ABS model and let me tell you, having a hard time doing 37 MPH getting to work which is a 20 mile one way trip! Taking all the back roads, but a lot of them are 45-50 mph. After I hit 1000 Mi. I can get on the freeway and do 70 MPH! I strap my lunchbox onto the back with bungee cords currently but would like to do the fender elimination closeout and integrated turn signal / brake light but will lose my hooks that I attach my bungees to so will have to figure out a work around for that.

+Chuck Roberson Yeah, I have the Oxford touring heated grips underneath the foam expanding grips. It really wasn't that bad. I focused more on varying the revs then what speed I was at. After the first 600 miles I went straight to freeway and just keep continually varying the revs as I rode until about 1200 miles. That is actually one of the reason I haven't gotten rid of the fender yet, another is rain. Some fender eliminator kits do have tie downs but you have to hunt for them. Another option is a tank or tail bag. Otherwise you will hair have to get creative. Hope that helps man. Got to love this bike.

That is what the dealer told me as well, not to go crazy, but to vary the rpm's. Is 5 MPH higher or lower sufficient? And for how many minutes at a time before changing? I was looking at this as a solution to carrying and securing my hard case lunch box plus it will give me a little extra room as I also wear a back pack, and things get a little tight. www.ebay.com/itm/201209666909?item=201209666909&viewitem=&vxp=mtr I also like the better designed windscreen. Can you tell me what the small sliders you have at the rear of your bike are? I would like to get a set along with a rear wheel stand and you mentioned the ones you got will work with the stand. Okay, and any recommendations on stands? Just asking since you have had your bike for a minute. Thanks for the insight. Any favorite parts dealers you prefer, or just shop the interwebs?

The sliders are Shogun slider from revzilla. The screen and rack look good. I don't have a stand cause I never really work on my own bikes unless it is just a bolt on mod and don't room anyway. As far as break in. Don't worry about it. Just be natural and everything will be fine. There is no hard and fast rule. K&N filters you don't replace, they are washable so you just wash it and re-oil it. Only time you replace it is if it gets damaged. so 50 - 70 $ only once and you add a little more performance.

The bike has always been white, or has always had white fairings, I should say. At one point it had grey and red decals all over it but I stripped those off right after getting the bike. Although, if you did want to change the color of the bike, you could always just paint your fairings or order fairings in your chosen color. Hope that helps man.

+Alexis Robles The exhaust was replaced after an accident and the dealer held onto it. I still have the original windshield but it is pretty battered.

hey bro did you replace your mid pipe before putting in the r77? or the r77 is just a plug and play?

Unfortunately, he stopped making videos long ago and doesn't respond to my knowledge. The r77 should only require 3 bolts installment. Replacing your mid pipe shouldn't be a requirement

It is a Yoshimura R-77 full carbon slip on.

Are you not planning to get a fender eliminator?? And was the reflective tapes on your wheels oem??

Yeah, the bike came with the reflective tape on the wheels. I was going to take them off at first but then decided against it. I want to get a fender eliminator kit with an integrated tail light. Unfortunately, I use this bike for commuting which means that I ride in the rain from time to time. Without the fender, things get messy really quick. If this was not a commuting bike, a fender eliminator kit would have been the first mod on the bike.

Front is stock and back is a stock comparable tire. So, nothing special.

I used a blow dryer to heat them up and slowly peal them off. Its a long process but easy enough.

Why did you not like the 15 tooth sprocket? I was thinking about getting a bigger one on my ninja 250 just so I don't ride on the freeway at 1100 to 1200 rpms. Did your rpms change when you got the 15 tooth sprocket? or should I just go with the stock sprocket?

I felt like the 15 tooth front sprocket robbed the bike of too much torque. I think on a larger bike, it wouldn't be an issue, but here, you really feel it. Here is a link to a few videos I made about it. goo.gl/IMEHlv

+Nate Nelson Depends on who you ask. I personally think it's fine. I have done it every day for at least an hour a day for over two years now. Everything is still running fine.

That exhaust is just under 1000$ in Australia. Damn. Didn’t expect a slip on to cost that much but probably going to be the first thing I get. That or the frame sliders

Yeah, unfortunately we have tons of long straight roads out here. The back tire can get pretty fast in the middle some times.

+Ad Mortem Oh, haha. Like what walteriffic has. I have looked into them before but it would take some fiddling with my current setup. I haven't see a need for it yet so I haven't gotten one. Maybe in the future if I do a lot of long trips.

If you ever decide to get a performance air filter you will need to consider a fuel/air controller for your bike and those tend to be pricey. If you don't get one your bike may run very lean and it won't be at its max potential.

I agree.

I think swapping a sprocket out for one with more teeth makes its accelerate slower but gives it a higher top speed. That would suck! Where as Swapping it out for one with less teeth would make it quicker off the line but slower on the top end. That's what I would do considering that I'm always going 0-60 and love taking off like a spooked chipmunk, at the proper times. I'm not into seeing how fast I can go. You can do 145 mph. in an old mustang.
