Ninja 300 One Year 15K Mile Review

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I have had the Kawasaki Ninja 300 as my daily driver for just over a year now. I commute, go on long trips, grocery shop and go everywhere on this Ninja 300. I thought After one year of ownership and 15 thousand miles under my belt, it was time to share with you my full review of the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

    Taking the MSF course in a little over a month from now. I plan on getting a Ninja 300 as my first bike. I don't care about trying to keep up with bigger bikes because none of my friends ride anyway. I'll upgrade whenever I feel the need to.

    ThisLifeRiding I really hope I pass. I've only been on a motorcycle once. Safe to say that ride lasted about 30 seconds. Laid down a 600cc. I've probably watched over 200 hours of motovlogs, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've even physically touched a motorcycle. Definitely nervous

    New 2015 Ninja 300 SE with 36000 on her. Feels great. 1000cc would never use even half of the power. 650cc felt like a bit to much bike for the city. 300 cc just right. This 300 is my main ride, so with fuel costs, insurance and maintenance costs, I feel this is the sweet spot. Happy riding! 🏍

    Sh9683 that is the most ignorant thing I've heard. I've been riding for 20 years ABS has saved my life on a few occasions. Why would you want to lock up your brakes front or back.

  • @PacAnimal

    @PacAnimal

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@sh9683 Sure, you can learn to emergency brake without ABS. Unlike a car, however, you can't "pump" the brakes to swerve and brake manually. If you lock the front tire, you go down. All this means is that in an emergency situation, if you don't have ABS, you can't brake as hard as the one who does. So you might hit stuff. Have fun.

    Great honest review. I've got a 2016 ninja 300 ABS KRT edition and love it. 7500 miles on her, daily the bike. This thing handles great. Previously had an 05 ninja ex250, put 20k on that trusty little thing. Only downside was cold winter starts and freeway riding.

    I'm 6' and it's still comfortable. This is my 3rd year with mine and still no regrets. The only downside is that other riders have their own assumptions about the small engine, but if you let them take it for a spin, they have nothing to say. Exhaust upgrade is a must even if it's just a slip-on. I recommend yoshimura. Got mine after the first year, wish I would have picked it up sooner.

    What do you mean worth?? I have four street bikes…..but I’m sort of an addict when it comes to motor vehicles. Bikes are fun, relaxing, therapeutic, addicting and expensive. Don’t forget dangerous. They are not as forgiving as cars with regards to mistakes. They are cheap on gas, expensive on tires and maintenance, (unless you do your own work) I guess I would have to ask, what do you want out of it??

    Ok so here is my take on the ninja 300. I have 3 bikes as a new rider in about one year. Believe it or not. And you will definitely not believe what I will say now but here it is. The ninja 300 is more fun, rides better and is a better all round bike then my other two bikes. 1. 2007 suzuki gs 500 2. Cbr 650 r Why? The gs is a unbelievable bike but lack flikable, refinement and smooth engine, transmission. The new cbr, it is very committed riding position and is down right Scary. I ride sensibly and cbr is made to go fast not slow thus it feels as it struggles when I ride at posted speeds or less. So the ninja feels home no matter what way it is used. When I ride the ninja 300, there is always a smile on my face.

Nice review , I came across your vid looking for touring wind screens . I'm 6'2" and put down 638 miles last ride and bought a Saddleman seat first chance lol it love this little machine too !

    +randy duke Thanks for the input on gearing. There always new things to try on that front. I like the Zero Gravity touring windshield. It keeps most of the buffeting off the body. The air stream hits me on the forehead. I am 5'8" so it will probably hit you on the chin. Thanks for watching and the comment.

    I started on a 250, rode it hard for a few weeks and got a 660. It's not a super sport but the extra power is greatly appreciated. A 300 is a great Bike all around, they're quite agile in corners, a little more power from the line and out of corners would be nice but that's probably about it.

    Good idea. My first bike was a Honda shadow 1100 cruiser. It was way to big and way to powerful for a beginner bike. Once I switched to the smaller Ninja 300, I started to learn much faster. I think I learned more in just a few month on a small bike what it took me a year to learn on the cruiser. Congratulations on the new bike man. Thanks for the comment.

    Very helpful review! Confirmed pretty much all of my research. Question for you: Do you think ABS would help your confidence in the brakes? There's a lot of debate on ABS on smaller bikes.

  • @ThisLifeRiding

    @ThisLifeRiding

    8 жыл бұрын

    +Nick McClure I think that ABS would completely remove all of my concerns over braking. The problem is not that the brakes can't lock up the wheels, its that they lock up to easily. I think that ABS would remove that problem. I would highly recommend getting the Ninja 300 with ABS.

    I just purchased a 2014 Ninja 300 a few days ago, downgraded from a Ninja 636 so its a transition but I am loving the bike. I am in AZ also, awesome to see familiar places in your videos. One question would be do you feel you ever have to crouch forward on the freeway? I was on the I-10 earlier and felt like I was getting thrown around (my person not bike) ALOT more than I did on the 636. I tried leaning forward a little but it felt awkward. Do you ever end up crouching into it?

    I have the Ninja's rejected sister, the z300, which is the exact same but naked, and I agree with everything you said ! I still want to try bigger bikes just to see for myself, but I'm afraid it won't be as good as my trusty 300... I'm 5ft8 and it fits great, not too small, not too big, it's very agile and can handle freeway as well as mountain roads like a boss (I live in the french Alps), the only downside is the breaking system, a bit too weak for sure.

    Took me over an hour to get all the decals off mine. I say the same thing, wth are the signal indicators smoked? They didn't smoke the neutral. I've never even noticed the slipper clutch, i've locked the rear coming in hot to corners just from the downshift alone. It's smooth as glass and the lever pull is so light you can use 1 finger. I love mine. Good review

    +christiantaylor17 Thanks man. Between the three or four major motorcycle dealers here in the valley, I like Go AZ the best. They have amazing customer service. They walked me through the buying process and I felt very taken care of. They lend me a bike every time mine is in the shop and most of the associates know me by name and what I ride. They are just that cool. If they have a demo they always let you test ride the bike before you buy. I would suggest seeing if you can get a couple of quotes from other dealers just so you have a little negotiating leverage but they will probably give you a pretty good deal. This is not the best time to buy, simply because this is the time of year everyone is buying bikes so you won't get the best deal but if they have any of last years models left(unlikely) you could get a great deal. Let us know how its goes man. Its always exciting getting a new bike.

    I plan on getting a ninja 650 or 400I’m 6 foot 275 pounds. I live in the mountains and most riding is highway or thruway. I want to get one with a slipper clutch and abs. It’ll be my first big boy bike. I have a juiced ebike with some mods that allow me to go 35 mph. It’s a heavy bike so I’ve gotten really good at counter steering and counter balancing around corners. I also have a lot of experience driving with traffic, even on my ebike I have to drive like everyone’s trying to kill me.

    Really liked your video I sold my CBR600RR this summer after being paralyzed from a motocross accident. I now have a Harley Davidson 883 and just sold my Ducati 748 really intrigued by the ninja 300. I mean yeah it's fun to go 0-60 in 3 seconds on a super sport but I really just love to cruise do some wheelies and have a good time doing my passion. Thinking highly of purchasing one these this summer also something my dad would enjoy my father isn't into the inline 4 motors. Reply to this comment I live off the 101 and cactus and usually ride alone always looking for people to ride with. Beautiful bike very professional video! - Wyatt

    +ArizonaDesertRat426x Hey dude. Thats pretty cool. Sorry to hear about you accident. I like the Ninja 300 quite a bit. It is a blast to just mess around on and not have to worry about getting in trouble. I think your father might like it as well. The Ninja 300 can do wheelies but it is not the best. You might also consider a DR-Z400 or another supermoto or dual sport. They have a much easier time with the wheelies. Either way, the Ninja 300 is a great bike. Thanks for watching.

I've done a bunch of things, exhaust, lowering kit, steering damper and some more knick knacks. my only problem with its is the dang seat is so fricken uncomfortable and hard. might need some more breaking in but who knows lol definitely a great get around town bike when I'm not chugging gas with the truck, or trying to race people in the honda.

    Nice man. A couple of options for the seat. You can either order a new one from someone like seat concepts or get some memory foam and redo it yourself. Either way, there are some more comfortable options out there if you are willing to invest. I still have the stock seat myself. It doesn't bother me. I have a lot of padding in the trunk though, if you know what I mean.

    Yeah, I think it is just kinda how we think here in the US. In European countries, small bikes make sense because of how the roads are made. Here in the US, we just have so much space and everyone likes big things. Speed and power is emphasized over maneuverability.

    Should I buy new or used? New (2016-2018) I could buy at 3k which is exactly my budget, I’ll be the only owner, good insurance, but I’ll only own it probably only a little less than a year.. (budget is around $3000-$3600) but I’ve had my eye on the 650r, yet I can only find a good amount of them (used) for about $3500-$4000. But with the 650r I would keep that a very long time until I’m able to afford my Harley Iron 883.. I’d have that extra power, I’d be able to grow into it, the power on the 650r is a bit subtle.. (have had very minor experience with my uncle’s R6, parking lot stuff) will be on the freeway a good amount, will be using for frequent trips every 3 ish months, Vegas to LA/San Diego 2-4 hour long rides.. main transportation, mainly will be commuting. Thanks in advance 😘
