One of the really special things about Floor's performance of this song is that she manages to actually keep up with the song's tempo, which as I'm sure you're aware is quite fast for the style of singing she's using. She has to trade away some weight and resonance in her vocal approach for speed, but I think it's worth it here.

In the end that was what made them famous in the beginning with Tarja. And this performance is maybe the closest to Tarja style that Floor ever did.

Another epic performance by Nightwish. And another great reaction by you maggie! Oh yes and the windmill too, mustn't forget the windmill!! Love it!

The opener of my favourite Nightwish album, the first song I've ever heard by them and one of my favourites to this day. Introduced me to the one-in-a-million voice of Tarja and it was super great to see that Floor does it justice.

Stargazers was the first Nightwish song I ever listened to, way back in 1999. It was great with Tarja back in the day, but it takes on a whole new dimension with Floor!

It's a real Nightwish classic. Beautiful :-)

Maggie, are you seeking honorary Dutch citizenship with that windmill? It was epic!

Maggie, try also the version with Tarja. Floor is doing an amazing job, but still she couldn't sing this song as high as Tarja did. There is a recording from 2010 I guess of Tarja doing the song with her band.

YOU are the one who started to "Whine" in a thread about Floor, that the reactor should also look at Tarja, and You are the one who, even though you claim to "Adore Floor", do not seem to know that Floor's range goes all the way up to E6, and that she can comfortably sing up to D6, so that she easily could have sung this song a few notes higher. So I conclude that both the "whining" and the "stupidity" are completely on your side. To round of: I have no problem whatsoever with you adoring Floor, Tarja, or Anette, or whoever, for that matter. I wish you lots of enjoyment with that.

I've noticed those gorgeous trills a LOT from her, always perfectly placed, and most often when she uses the more classical style. Have you ventured into her 2019 episodes on Beste Zangers? I can't recall at the moment (on mobile) but if not, definitely go in order of release. The first episode, when the only thing almost anyone knows about her is as a metal front woman, and she launches the season in opera - plus trills. ❤️❤️

She sings this about 30 minutes or so AFTER having done the growling of "Yours is an Empty Hope"...

This one is an old Tarja song. When she was dismissed from the band, the second singer could not do justice to this operatic style song. Nice windmill Maggie! How is your neck? Ghost Love Score is the one you are trying to remember.

I would like to see more reactions to the quality of the drummer. He is most forgotten part of the band but being the backbone.....

Hi Maggie, Nightwish Army Pennsylvania Division checking in. You are correct. I listen to a lot of Nightwish and I often hear snippets of themes intertwined in many Nightwish songs. It's part of Tuomas' genius that he offers these bits of familiar themes to keep the listener comfortable when listening to a new composition.

Have you checked out Wintersun yet!? This is Kai Hahto's former band, where he often gives a hell of a beating on his drums 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Sons of winter and stars, is a song that takes you on an epic journey for almost 14 minutes 🥰🥰🥰🥰 ENJOY 🇩🇰

Floor, with her imposing appearance on this stage, gives me the impression of a dark Snow White and the Four Dwarfs.

The windmill never gets old 😍

What I think is great is that over the last few years, Floor and Nightwish seem to have brought some people into Metal.

Crewish doing their excellent job with the synced explosions and flames! Lyrics, deep. Opera style with trills. Almost rapping. Emppu and Marko sparring. Echoes of other songs, make you sort of remember and enjoy.

I love ur reactions But especially loved when U did the windmill ( when u were like headbanging in a circular movement) that was awesome!!

Love this version as much as your reaction.

I couldn't imagine how hard it would be singing any form of Opera in a Rock or Metal band with so much noise and distraction when it seems like your competing with the other noises from the instruments and stage effects like flames and fireworks etc. Usually when singing Opera its more of a controlled enviroment when the Opera singer has tottal control of their surroundings unless your caught out in a full on Orchestra that maybe a little bit different but still not easy.

In-ear monitors make a world of difference, allowing each member to hear a tuned mix of everything, and can boost their own signal to hear themselves better in the mix if they choose

Hi Maggie, the reason this was off the setlist for over 10 years was due to the fact that is was written for Tarja and when Anette joined there was no way this could be performed with the operatic style of singing.

I'd be interested in your opinion of her vocal agility and power, since typically these are opposites in the opera world. I'm thinking about those trills and this passage,; Oracle of the Delfian Domine Witness of Adam's frailty Seer of the master prophecy The stellar world her betrothed

"You want to hear others read it out.." I am then thinking, then try singing it in that style, in that tempo and still making it sound good and being able to hear the words.. Dutch people just have a talent with speaking because their own language is so.. ehm... yea.. And a note for our times best composer.. Tuomas is just something else.

Who cares about Tarja when Floor does it like her and much much more. Such diversity and power in her voice is unique. Nobody does it better. Best female vocalist in metal no doubt...

hi there! Maggie, please, just for you, try this song with Tarja, then decide what suits better for this exact song. I love them both - do not get me wrong, but this exact song I used to listen with Tarja's opera sound, and you can admit, Tarja is better in that, as far as Floor is better in everything else and in most other songs I enjoy Floor more) And yes, one of the favorite Nightwish songs
