Im a driver for pepsi. Truly one of the worst companies in America, some of the lowest pay in the industry and everyone hates eachother that works there. I'm not surprised you were treated like that.

I was a route driver for PepsiCo on the frito lay side for 23 years then I retired. That company lacks common sense and they are always messing with their drivers. Best day of my career was the day I retired.
Hope you put PEPSI CO on your no more list.....

I went through this same thing this week at Pepsi Fort Myers. 5 hours to unload 2 trucks, and of course Uber refuses to pay detention. I'm done with dry van and moving back to flatbed where drivers get treated with respect.

That's been my experience since entering the open deck market. Of course there's a few exceptions, but overall, it's a totally different experience at shippers/receivers versus dry van. The only way I'd do dry van again is if its drop and hook.
Note to self, never pull that load again. Delivered to Pepsi in Tampa, they have a little parking outside of the gate. But they have the same attitude that Orlando has. Same set up also, they’re built for day cab trucks, not road trucks……😢😢

I think your right about the shipper refusing to pay detention when you go off their property. When the warehouse is full; they'll try to take your load and put it on outgoing trucks in one step; by handling the freight one time and no storage; they save time and space which equals money. Its all about them saving money. If the trucks to be loaded aren't there yet; guess who has to wait!
As a truck driver, your time is everyone else’s to waste.
Gotta stand your ground.
Seems to me, the solution to all this excessive waiting is to pre-negotiate an extremely high detention price. I'd suggest truckers as a group start to require $250 per hour for detention beyond whatever time would be reasonable to wait and be unloaded.
@losoj30
5 ай бұрын
They would just reduce the rate..
If you're way down the road they don't have to pay detention, so they say go down there to wait.

I am so frustrated watching this video, this brings back so many bad deliveries. You are handling this a whole lot more calmly then I would. I know the best thing to do is to remain calm but wow. I guess they do that so that your geo mapping doesn’t show that you are there, that’s how they get away with not paying detention.
The truck driving community really needs to come together to rate or shame these facilities that treat hard working folks this way. That’s how you fight back. One bad experience here or there is questionable, but when lots of bad reviews get out there with details…it’s obviously a warning to stay away. That will drive the price up and viola, management will have to sink or swim.
Pepsi, Pepsi, Pepsi ….well that’s behind you now….. today is a new day so I hope you have a great day and stay safe out there !!!!!

You had more fun than I did in the Keys. Over a 3 hour delay...trailer overturned on US 1 and spilled his fuel. Had to use the Card Sound bypass but you would have been happy to see how everyone seemed to merge properly in multiple forced detours. "According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 10 a.m. at mile marker 111, on the Miami-Dade County end of the 18 Mile Stretch of U.S. 1 that leads to Key Largo from Florida City on the mainland. Troopers diverted traffic to Card Sound Road, the only other road that connects the mainland to the Keys, according to a sheriff’s office alert. No injuries were reported, and the road was expected to reopen once fuel from the truck was cleaned up."

Woah, never been this early to a post. This looks spicy!
Much respect for you drivers out there on the roads getting the job done... I worked for a freight broker here in the Atlanta area for a short time. He was the absolute cheapest guy I have ever met. Every load was lowball to the drivers. Had an odd load and I was assisting the driver with directions (this was before really good GPS ans map programs). I was assisting routing the driver the best way to the drop off becaust it was up in the mountains of North Georgia. I got written up for helping because it was not my job to help drivers with directions. I think I stayed working for him for 6 months and could not take his nonsense. Be safe out there drivers.
Just unbelievable Pepsi get it together.

Yes, some of those security guards really seem to believe they have actual power and that it stretches beyond the terrain they're supposed to be security for. Had a head-to-head with one when a subcontractor ordered something and gave the construction site as the delivery address. I temporarily parked my truck on the public road where it didn't block any traffic, yet I had this Security clown come running up to me and "ordering" me to remove my truck and telling me I didn't have "permission" to unload the order. Now I'm always polite, because politeness gets things done faster and with less fuss, but that guy kept irritating me, so I told him I was on the public road and that his "authority" ended at the gate and asked the subcontractor what he wanted me to do. He decided to parlay with the construction site manager and then asked me if I could deliver his order at the collection spot the construction site used instead. No problem for me. The thing is that if the security guy had stayed polite and explained both to me and the subcontractor that the rule was that orders were to be delivered at a collection spot, there wouldn't have been a problem to begin with. Something like a week later, oh irony, I parked my truck in the exact same spot to unload and deliver an order to a company across the road. I don't know if that same security guy was on duty, because if had been, he must have been almost popping a fuse.

you stated the reason but did not think about it Geotracking They do not want to pay for detention or their bad policies.. So, make you move far enough that you cannot be paid detention at all.. Which means videos like this need sent to FMCSA and that congressman to make the la changes
Seeing this video makes me want to take this case of pepsi I bought the other day and throw it back at their facilities! I definitely won’t be drinking any of their products in the future. If I can help it. If they don’t care about the people driving their products around, they most likely care less about their product!🤷🏾♂️

Really miss that that part of trucking 😢
You in my neck of the woods. Who said you can't make money in Florida. Those Pepsi loads are premium. Been there plenty of times. Always get in contact with the foreman. But average wait times can be 2-4hrs depending on who brokered the load. They do their own freight first period.

That was a bunch of bs, glad you could make it work. / I'm now working for a company that builds apps for the cellphone and Internet service. Please let me know if you want to investigate this opportunity further.
I worked for a company that charged $200 an hour after 2 hours, based on the minute we arrived. If they wouldn't pay, the buyer would not buy from them anymore. Losing a multi-million dollar account shuts down a business real quick.
The irony is a few videos back I believe it was Coke that called the sheriff's on you when you were docked at their place. Not for parking but standing your ground. They came and told you to have a nice day and left. Had two squad cars. lol
Great Job Bro
That’s why you always call the receiver. I call every shipper and receiver.
They are something else. That’s why I don’t drink Pop or Soda which ever you want to call it. I have the patience as a Jack Rabbit.
Does this bring back the memories. One of the prerequisites on being a truck driver is patience, and a sense of humor. Been through the same issue on a few occasions. You have these large companies, large warehouses, and no place to park. It’s a joke! Can’t unload, and can’t find a place to get some sleep. You just roll with the punches. LOL!!
It’s sad how some places have no consideration for anyone other than themselves!!! T&Ps for staying cool with these situations as always hopefully you’ll find something to get back home to the family!!!

Try delivering in northeast Dallas, reserving a spot at the only truckstop nearby (flying J) with reserve parking 20 miles north of there thinking you have peace of mind that your paid for spot is held. Then you limp over to the flying j (totally exhausted), and a bunch of dudes filled it up the reserves who didn't even pay. Then the manager refuses to kick anyone out for not paying and puts the blame on you saying it's your responsibility to find parking. Then you gotta drive 60 miles to the terminal at almost midnight half asleep almost wrecking. (Not to mention getting paid for like 6 hours of driving and not the rest of the 14hrs that you were acting as a security guard for the company's equipment. And you wonder why there's a lot of crazy truckers out here that loose their mind and do stupid stuff. Hard to be a professional when you're treated like a dog.
