Before retirement,I used to always get hit up for random drug tests,they knew I didn’t smoke or drink.

I have a load on me now picked up in Michigan and delivers Wednesday in Auburndale FL. Receiver has shut down and pushed the appointment out until further notice! It's a blessing for me I will get $175 a day layover and will sit at the house waiting. Company driver of course

I got a message on my ELD from my dispatcher that I had to route to a terminal to take a class. I got held up at the shipper and wound up getting to the terminal a few hours after the class time. Turns out the class was a random drug test and thankfully they waited for me to arrive. I was really angry that they did it sneaky like that, and it could have been really bad if I was delayed any longer.

Because they did not tell you…specifically that you had been selected for a random drug test - you being late to your class would not have been a violation. They protected your timing. A lot of carriers do that. It suppose to be a surprise!

Too many people do drugs and carry synthetic urine in their vehicle. They're trying to eliminate them. They should do the hair follicle test, easier to catch drug users because theres really no way to cheat the system.

Knew a buddy who failed his drug test, he had to spend almost 1,000$ to do the steps program I think it is. It was a giant pain and hard to find a company to hire him, this was before the clearing house tho so I don’t know how it would go now.

Thanks for the video Justin , when I worked for CFI my number would pop up and they would give me call for a random drug test and they gave you 2 hours to get the place giving the drug test , everytime I was near our terminal in Laredo, Tx so it worked out fine , Stay Safe.

28 years in healthcare and I spent 19 in Occupational Medicine. I worked with DOT compliance for local trucking companies. Your NIDA drug test and random BAT are so important. I also worked close with a MRO (medical review officer) on positive results. In my years working around DOT I was amazed at how many people were positive unfortunately. But @ 80k pounds fully loaded…you want the people who bust their butts for us (DOT drivers) to be safe on the roadways. Thanks for what you do 👏👏👏

Yeah, company I worked for sent me to take a drug screen, I had covid symptoms. They would not allow me inside. I went to hospital is snowqualmie and was positive. So 5 days I take off again. Well a month passed and nothing. So I change companies, take their drug screen, pass it. And I quit the other company, and day 1 at new company I get a call that I refused a drug screen.... I'm like what?? Sure enough, the previous company put it on my clearinghouse house. And I never did refuse, as I passed one for another company. So, basically I'd have to admit I did, pay money to take a class... and get my privlage to operate a CMV again.. No thanks, I'm driving now, DOT got me a month ago, and it's just the same citation as a out of service. Best part is the boss I have now, pays it lol. He dont care, heck i dodnt even have to take a test for this local job. So, screw the DOT.. I won't admit I done something wrong, when I didn't.

Back in the 90's I was leased to a carrier when they called for a drug test they would not load you until you tested. One time I had to borrow a car to get to the test site big pain in the butt. They were very serious about it and no excuses.

Driving forklifts here in Australia we get random drug and alcohol testing once a month , some places every 2 or 3 months , some places if you drop/smash a pallet or if you run into another forklift by accident .

My company was weird about their tests. One time I was sent to Dallas on a relay from Oklahoma City (I usually went to Amarillo) so I was like ok whatever. Get to the terminal and the guard tells me I got to do a random. I had just used the restroom not even 10 minutes prior. Safety guy wasn't too happy having to wait an extra 45 minutes before I could go again despite chugging a liter of water. Second time I got a call at home at 8:00 am from Omaha and not from my dispatcher. So I answer it and it's Safety telling be to go to Concentra before I go to the truck. So much more convenient.

Concentra is the devil. The one I went to all the time before I moved across the country would tell me every year that I needed a sleep test, my PCP would email the doc at Concentra and basically tell him to go fuck himself. After the second year, my PCP scheduled the email ahead of time for a day before my test and then I never had the problem again.

Check your steering "stops" and see if you can get a little more steering radius . Production factories under the Paccar brand {{KW and Pete} are notorious for adjusting the stops on the short side of things.

Hendersonville was the town I would go thru on the way to Brevard College circa 1984. Every Sunday we would have to go to H'ville to buy alcohol. Went back a couple years ago and was lost with all the development.

You can do paper logs with a new truck if you’re within 170 miles or 150 air miles from the shippers address. It’s call the air miles exempt.

I don’t think you understand that rule. The driver must ALWAYS be working within a 150 air miles radius of the starting location, which also cannot change. An appropriate application would be an LTL local driver or CDL beverage delivery driver that goes home every day and have a local route within 150 miles of the company’s home base. You can’t switch from ELD to paper logs back and forth and you have to have additional start of work day and end of work day time keeping requirements in order to use the 150 air mile exemption. This rule in fact tethers the driver to 150 air miles from the home base or dispatched yard, with the exception of RARE trips that can be longer, but there is a limit to how many trips you can have, I don’t think even once a week is allowed. Read more on the FMCSA website.

jesus my company gives us 4 hours after notification to get to the location they tell us to go to 24 hours would be a dream.

Drug test on the airline was different. When your number came up, the test clerk was at the gate when you arrived, gave you the paper work and you has to go direct to the test facility without stopping anywhere in between.

My only worry is if you do come down here to Georgia or Florida and not getting a load out. High winds tipping you over. Unfortunately it looks to hit right over Simpsonville this weekend and prayers it's just a low tropical storm then.

The company I drive for just sends me a message to stop at a terminal and call safety. That way, I'm at a collection site when I'm told I've been selected for a random drug test so I can get it done right then. My company pays $25 for a clean drug test.

I wonder if he ever gets tired of talking!😂

Once notified to report for testing, a CDL driver must report to the collection site immediately...not 24 hours, not in a week, not when it is a good time, not when you are home... AS SOON AS NOTIFIED.

49 CFR Part 40 describes the role of consortiums and how tests are to be administered 49 CFR Part 382 describes the tests and when and how they are to be administered Test are administered right after coming on-duty or just prior to going off duty….if your consortium is giving you a week to take a random test…they are NOT in compliance with PART 40…I’d be looking for another consortium…

@@weroscarface6917 to be honest, what I do is put the hand warmer on the bottle attached with the rubber band. It has a temp gage on the side of the bottle. Once it's correct temperature, I will place the bottle and warmer still attached under my scrotum between the upper thighs and it holds it in place perfectly and then u just get it once in the stall and pour it in the cup.

We he got pulled over then put out is Service because his Hearing aids Battery were dead. So he red tagged him then he hired in with us and I be darn he was clean in the Clearing House. Well after it was all said and Done. We received a $2500 fine and he received a $900.00 dollar fine.

Never had any employer give advance notice for a random. I’d come onto our yard and be told then to go get one done.

One of my former students at another company got hurt. He was at home for several months had to have surgery. When he got better and was ready to go back to work the company requested he go through orientation again since he had been out so long. He did and they claimed he failed his drug test and sent him home. He is in his 60s and swares he don’t use drugs. A week later he goes to work for another company and does just fine. And the other company never reported his failed drug test. Well like a year goes by and a recruiter reaches out to him by mistake. He says I would love to come back but y’all sent me home last time on a botched test. A couple days goes by an the head of safety which is also the company lawyer calls. And long story short they paid him 5500.00 dollars and told him sorry and that was that. 😂

I live in Greenville SC, any one know how I can get my CDL if I work a full time job on 12 hour shifts?? I would love to have it as a back up or if maybe a new career comes around.

I am running Hot Shot with a CDL and I am diabetic. I work 3 days a week - my choice. I can find more loads for less than TT loads and they are all within 500 miles with rates that net a decent profit If I need to deadhead as a F350 gets almost double mpg than a Kenworth. I am doing the Savannah/Greenville/Atlanta triangle and usually get two of the three legs if not all three or a back and forth in a day. I have an oddball ATL to Eastman GA tomorrow with a 7am pu and a before 1pm delivery. Easy one to make happen and I am 2 hours from the house. I have to do an annual physical and I get the drug test every year and submit the results to Labcorp as they do my Randoms. In the past 4 years I have had only one random outside of the yearly and no alcohol tests.

I haven't heard from my friend on FB who lives in Naples had evacuation zone. Seen alot of photos of 20ft flood waters and building damage also internet outages. Pictures of no water in the ocean like when Katrina hit. Stay safe out there hear the oil is going to skyrocket from the hurricane. Also sharks swimming in local roads and highway.
