The other TEs weren’t THE focal point of their offenses. Mayer is the main guy that every defense has to plan for. He draws the best defensive players and double coverage all day.

Sadly, the media used that against him, bc he was too slow to create separation that is why he had so many contested catches… 😂😂😂 do these Ass holes actually watch football??? He had the highest contested catch percentage, while having the highest number of chances… he caught them bc he is exceptionally talented. They were contested bc he was always double covered, & at times triple & quadruple covered at times!!! Oh yea, he still caught those balls too… 😂😂😂 He is the latest victim of, I got sick of covering this guy so I want to find someone else. Time will tell us who the real deal is!

Beauty of Mayer is his hands and usage of his body. He doesn't need a ton of separation cause he effectively boxes out defenders with his body and has the hands to not body catch. Simms missed it on this one.

Not great separation but GREAT IN CLOSE QUARTERS so does it matter

Don't need my TE running Wr routes need him being big in the end zone and blocking out a defender or catching something over the top
