His special skill is catching the ball, I have him as my rookie of the year already, I think a lot of people under value this guy, a lot of players play better on the field and are faster and all that then what the combine shows. It's much harder to get your adrenaline going doing a workout like the combine then in a football field.

Mayers is just as effective in the pass as he is in the run having him in the game doesn't tip off the defense what yiur doing. You also need to remember Notra Dame didn't have any other real weapons and the other team knew the ball was going to him but he still whooped their ass. Now he is on the same offense as Davante Adams he will tear apart Defenses and be a great red zone target

Biased because ima a Notre Dame Fan, but the kid is legitimately the best TE ive seen come out of ND. And were supposedly a TE University. I have the 2.01 in my dynasty draft this year and i think thats the perfect spot to take him. Be careful if u want to wait to draft this kid cus your league mates are probably on the hunt for that new TE

Mayer has the same athletic profile as Mark Andrews. So is that a top 15 pick? Maybe not, but an easy 1st rounder

I have a hard time wanting him more then 4-5 other TE'S personally. I think he has higher floor then most of them though. He reminds me of what Hayden Hurst was for the Bengals last yr. Not the 1st rnd pick I want personally

it's not just that Notre Dame thought he was a superstar (which he was at the college level) but our WRs and QBs were flawed last year. Our starting QB was overrated and got hurt which brought in Pyne who was above average but didn't have arm strength. So we didn't really have a "deep ball" passing game. This took one of our starting WRs Lenzy who is a deep threat out of alot of plays. The guy we usually throw screens and pop passes and stuff too was Styles who had the drops VERY BAD last year and was in his own head. This lead to our offense basically being the running game and Mayer. The "Baby Gronk" nickname isn't fair but its more about his style of play early in his career when he was a very physical after the catch runner. Also late in the year despite us forcing the ball to Mayer he was getting doubled alot and still producing.

I'm so torn with this position. The balance of Mayer, the athleticism of Kincad, & the Frankenstein monster that is Washington. My heart gravitates towards Washington, but how long is the development curve

Look up Panthers TE Ian Thomas and there's your answer. He's taller than Ian Thomas by 3", but they feel so similar. They both are huge and raw, both have major issues with drops and pretty much suck at route running. I wouldn't touch this guy with a ten foot pole in the first or second round.

I dont agree with Michael being called a baby Anything, you guys are missing the point of the nickname tho.. He PLAYS as big as Gronk. His arm length really assists his blocking ability, he is able to capitalize on every single formation he was put in. In line, push passes, pass blocking, Everywhere. And so was Gronk lol. He got the name because hes reliable, not easily taken down at all. I feel like you guys havent watched many of his games because his block shedding is insane, there are so many instances of not 1, not 2, not 3, but sometimes 4 or 5 people had to take a crack at him to take him down. For as tall and heavy as he is, he IS quick. For his size, hes actually very elusive. And when we, the Raiders, picked him up we knew he was going to be a blocking TE his first year with plenty of pass packages for him too, but he will be a Consistent pass/run blocker. Overall i think you guys tried to play it safe and really didnt give this man his flowers 💯 It was a Steal getting Michael where we did and i promise you, he will out perform Dalton in his rookie year. Mark this comment because barring injury, no rookie TE will out perform him.

Michael Mayer= Jason Whitten .These guys are too Fantasy . As a Football player Michael Mayer makes your entire team better !!!!!!!! The ability to sustain blocks in the passing and running game is huge for dominant rushing attack and is a complement to WR1’s like Adams and Backs like JJ. Now the 50/50 clutch ability compliments Adams and rookie O’Connell ( who’s biggest knock is he can be over aggressive, so give him Adams and Mayer who can win those 50/50 balls, Jimmy has his TE now and both QBs love the middle of the field) . What he brings as a tightend helps the QB game management and keep the Defense OFF the field. A complete player who isn’t the prolific modern WR convert but a guy who will WIN YOU GAMES like Jason Witten, Mark Bavarro and GRONK as a clutch reliable guy who’s skills make the whole team better on both sides!!! Bill Walsh 101 🔥🔥🔥 I see a perennial Probowler and WINNER! Maybe not a top fantasy pick but a guy who will WIN YOU NFL games teams need to plan for!!!🔥🔥🔥

@@shawncrawford3146 I should have said Mayer has the potential to be Bavaro 2.0 I watched a bunch of Notre Dame games the past couple of years and I’ve seen him make plays the remind me of that. He’d carry players for yards like MB. I think that Gronk Jr. is not a good comparison because Gronk was a freak of nature. Bavaro wasn’t that kind of athlete, but he could put his hand in the dirt, run a great route, and then be physical after the catch. That’s what I see at least. I don’t think anyone should be compared to anyone because each person is their own, but he shows me similarities.

At what point in history did college production at a division one school become irrelevant?? He is “baby Gronk”! Emphasis on baby of course. He will play around 260 and dominate LB AND safeties. The QB will get in trouble sometimes when he’s not WIDE OPEN but his hands will make up for it. This is an example of paralysis through analysis. He’s just a player. He won’t wow you in the open field but a guy who gets six on third and five is worth his weight in gold. Ask Dallas (Witten). Funny showing the fumbled play twice. Are you guys Chief fans lol……???? Eagles fans???? He won’t last till 30-31 anyway.
