I'm so in love with this Country. It basically IS middle earth. You can imagine how the hobbits and elves really live there. It's just perfect

I'm going to save up my money to go see the locations when I turn 35. I have 3 years to save up for it.

I have to go there!! Does anyone else feel like The Lord of the rings world and the hobbit world feels fairly real in a way!

Now I know where I wanna go as one of my first world tour vacations. Growing up I would hear this and that from LOTR and the hobbit a while ago. It’s these types of places that opens my eyes more to how big a beautiful the sights of the world are. Can’t wait to reach the day where I absorb and look back to today when I thought “one day”

Been there! Definitely worth the cost and the trip! Absolutely beautiful, every shot a scene to remember

Damn, I actually though some of the backdrops was CGI as it looked so freaking gorgeous in the movie.... Nope, just one of the most gorgeous countries in the world... Man I have to go there on vacation one time. The first Hobbit movie was pretty much a perfect experience at the cinema for me, I can't wait for the next one, it is going to be epic.

I don't dispute that New Zealand has absolutely incredible beautiful landscapes for Middle Earth, but if you really want to visit Hobbiton, visit a small village in the Cotswold. There you'll find the Shire, where crafts known to the Hobbits are still practiced today. That's where Tolkien drew inspiration for Hobbits.

Agreed. West Midlands was a great inspiration for his books. Since writing those books there’s been more development. That’s why the movies were filmed in New Zealand

So happy to visit NZ, thank God i've made it..

I went to NZ last summer for these films and it does very like a peaceful country! Something nice about Middle East being tucked away all the way in NZ rather than somewhere more commercial.

For some reason the above comment reminds me that what Middle Earth _really_ needed was a Middle Earth Peace Process (preferably with the Fellowship being one negotiating team, and Saruman, the Ringwraiths, and the Mouth of Sauron comprising the other).

Wonderful place, l hope to see that with my own eyes.

I lived there for just over one year as a child and will always call myself Kiwi at heart. New Zealand was full of nice, kind, non judging people who where just amazing to be with. (on top of the amazing and perfect landscapes) I've been back a few times and sometimes I wish i were Kiwi by blood ;) You're a lucky person TheRCove ;)

God's beautiful creation... someday... I will live there.

The only places i will ever travel is New Zealand and Canada (Canada only to see my brother who moved there) ... New Zealand seems to be the place i long to be now, it is too beautiful to not move there, i hope i can one day. I hope man does not ruin it.

i cant believe some of these places are real… Especially Twizel. No houses, buildings, pollution… They just let it be. absolutely beautiful

The landscapes and sceneries are Very real from the naked eye and beyond With the mountain Tops and Lakes and rivers are phanomenol. Our country our showcase to the world so far away From New Zealand With Love.

I just hope that people will not destroy this paradise like others places! : (
