Why do these views of Hobbiton and the memories of the films bring such emotions to an 80 year old man ? Perhaps the wish that such a place, filled with peaceful Shire folk trully exists somewhere on this earth. If it did, I'd give anything to be there.

My husband and I are planning a trip to New Zealand in February, I’m such a huge LOTR fan, I’m dying to get there. I know I will weep! 🫠 But we are very confused about the itinerary. Can you please recommend a tour company?

Sorry I missed this comment. Excited for your upcoming trip! We booked the tickets here: www.hobbitontours.com/experiences/. The tours are all operated from the set, so no need to select a tour company. Just book the tickets and enjoy :)

They have now built in behind a couple of the doors so you can explore a couple of the hobbit holes now. I live very close so looking forward o going to check them out with some friends.

NZ in general is a wonderful country to see. When you’re done with this, head to Milford Sound or to Queenstown.

Hobbiton Movie Set is amazing

What a wonderful video! I was thinking of going there, my self! but I was concerned by the fact that the site said construction was going on. Did you guys find that the construction impacted your experience?.❤

I’d still recommend going. There was some construction going on when we were there in March, but it was still a great experience. Perhaps someone who has been there more recently could comment on the current state. It honestly surpassed our expectations!

Hi Shonda. We shoot on an iPhone 14 Pro. The quality is pretty good and it’s nice because we always have it with us.

So on the website they have the prices, is that in NZD? Currently booking from the US and I’m so confused the reviews say that people paid $90 or $78 but when I go on the website it says $158! 😭 just need some clarification, thanks 🙏🏽

Hello, I think that is priced in NZD since with the current exchange that is about 90 USD. I heard they were adjusting their prices when the renovations were complete.

The tree was a bit harsh. I always thought it was real.

To truly appreciate the set, forget the movies. Read the Hobbit , than The Lord of The Rings. Then visit the set. The movies are a distant second to the magic of the books.

Both are wonderful. Ive read all the books twice. The movies helped me appreciate the books and books made me enjoy the movies. (And hate some of the changes but I digress)
