just remember, "wha" is pronounced as "fa", and hobbiton is not in Hamilton but instead on the country side of Matatmata....

A very insightful and accurate portrayal of the potential tourism potential of NZ. Thank you sir, and I don't begrudge the accent or pronunciation of place names. At least you said "Kia Ora" correctly! I have hosted many hundreds of overseas travelers over the last 30-plus years and have traveled extensively during my 59 years of living here. Criticism is easy, as Kiwis are naturally self-conscious and get tunnel-vision on any overseas commentary. Your production, when I strip the noise away, is stunning. And wonderful.

Just remember that with Maori words, WH is pronounced like F, roll your Rs, and vowels are long, so if you have a British accent, A is like in 'cart', E is like in 'bed', I is more like 'eee', O is like in 'bored', and U is like 'ooo'

yup! I tend to ask those who are usually on visas because chances are, they've seen more than me lol I have traveled south island a few times now, and even tho I'm Kiwi, I still have a lot to learn about our beautiful country haha

It's the old saying - Don't leave town till you've seen the country. I've done tip to toe and left to right of NZ still some places I haven't seen or been to but I gave it a bloody good crack several times

A whole town in Northern France , named LE QUENSOY has many of its streets renamed after New Zealand due to the liberation of it during WW1.That makes me very proud of our little Nation Peter, what we did to help rid the world of tyranny in the 1940s. Having visited northern France and Monte Cassino, Crete is on the list of places to visit. Thank you for your kind words.

1 year ago I arrived in Wanaka where I worked on a sheep station for about 4 months and afterwards travelling all around NZ from the bottom all the way up to Cape Reinga. Man I miss this time in this great country with great people! Much love from Switzerland

New Zealand is the only overseas destination that I would ever consider visiting. It has so many similarities to the southern states of Australia, where I have lived all my life. It wouldn't take me long to become accustomed to being there.

I hope you get here and enjoy your visit. I am a New Zealander and have lived on the South Island all my life. My husband and I Iike to travel, but now with covid we are not wanting to travel overseas these days so we are buying a caravan and are going to take a year - 18 months to travel around New Zealand, spending as much time as we want to in the places that we love and to visit places we have not yet been to. We are both older people, but couldn't be more excited than two 20 year olds embarking on their first O.E. Come this November we're off!

The country which is EXACTLY on the other side of the world is Ireland. If you could tunnel through the center of the earth from the South Island you would emerge in Ireland. Ireland looks very like New Zealand...same latitude but on exactly the opposite side of the globe.

Awesome footage!! Makes me very proud and fortunate to be a New Zealander. Pronunciation isn't great but it would be the equivalent of me trying to speak Spanish or French to give it perspective so I can look past that. Anyone travelling to New Zealand take the time to meet some local Tangata Whenua (people of the land) if you want to hear correct Te reo (Maori) spoken
I've been to NZ and I must say the nature there is breathtakingly beautiful. Love everything about it. Loved the fish and chips. Hope to go there again

The east coast of the South Island did not get much coverage here because everybody flocks to the touristy west. Some of the most scenic areas can be found on the east - Kaikoura, Dunedin /O"tey"go peninsula, Akaroa .. all the way down to Invercargill.

@@woodywoodpecker1473 yep. It doesn't go into as many details as other NZ travel videos, but it does better recommendations of sites. For example most of them recommend Auckland as a major place to visit, whereas as an Aucklander myself I wouldn't recommend visiting Auckland because the expenses are high and there isn't much to *do* here (see the sky tower - if you are adamant go sky jumping but not worth the cost imo), Rangitoto for a dormant volcano hike, and the beaches are literally all I'd recommend about Auckland). This video however only mentions it briefly saying you could bungee jump "but you could do that almost anywhere" and doesn't have Auckland as a place to go which shows me that they have better travel recommendations than a lot of other travel guide videos

New Zealand, or what I like to call it, The Promised Land. I have family scattered all over (Auckland, Napier, Coromandel, Dunedin), whom I plan to move in with once I finish college. I can't wait to set foot on New Zealand soil, the coastline is breathtaking!
