I got that little saw and it is a beast with a Diablo blade. Had to break down some old pickets from fencing that I removed and it did not skip a beat. Light and powerful. Next in line is the 7 1/4 circular saw. Thanks for the reviews.
I'm an older lady that wants to start making things and decided on this saw - thank you for reinforcing the fact I made the right decision. Easy to use!
I like skil , I'm invested in it. I'm only hoping they don't get griddy like the big 3 and start hiking up prices.
Nice product from skil. I have always loved their power tools. The reviews this guy has done have not steered me wrong.

Thanks for the comment Matt! Glad I helped
Skil is picking up their game. Actually, Chervon as a whole is picking up their game with both Skil and Flex. My wife bought a corded 4 1/2" circ saw a couple of years ago, which I considered to be cute but useless. Yes, she has her own collection of tools. I have several 7 1/4" saws from Bosch, Skill, Ridgid, Metabo, and Sears era Craftsman, so I never imagined I would ever use a baby saw for anything. Two weeks ago I had to eat my words and borrow her baby saw to make a cut inside an installed cabinet. That made me remember... it's good to have options.

Right on MaginusUSA. This is why I never sell tools. If I needed it once I may need it again someday. At $130 for the kit I’d say it’s cheap enough to buy for that occasional use. Thanks for the comment!

I have this saw , I find it really good, it comes with a tile blade in my country too, which works well, The first time I used it I thought the dept was not set correctly as it cut 3/4 ply so easy, I have used it a couple of times on 3/4 mahogany too
I have the DeWalt 20v 4 1/2" circ. saw and its a little beast , I'd love to see a Head to Head with that Skil ..... 👍🖖
Good review. Thanks for the insight

Thanks Bill
Only complaint is the 90 degree is off. I had to use a square to line up and get a straight cut. You cannot adjust like other circular saws. I just have been spoiled cause my Hitachi/Metabo are on point and always squared to the plate.
Very nice review, Mike. It pains me to see all that clean lumber sawed into chunks. Thanks to a friend, I have one of these now. This will be great for small repairs we have to make around the chicken coop and the pens.
Coming out - just in time for Christmas!

Thanks for watching Rob!
Hey Mike! Great review! We've been using the new 4.5in saw as well, and really like it. We'd like to feature your channel on ours. If you're alright with that, just reply and let us know! I'd like to include this video in our show this week. Thanks again! Subbed!
Chervon always finding reasons for people to get back to their brands. I went from Flex to Kobalt and now investing on Skil for the compact line. Just so that you know, skil will give you an idea of what Flex has in store in the future.

I have no experience with Flex but we’ll be checking them out soon enough I’m sure. Skil compact 12V drill vid should be out latest next Monday. I’ve been giving those drills hell. Should be a good one. Thanks for watching Hammer!
It must have much more power with the 5Ah battery. Not because of the capacity, but because of the double bank of cells inside which are connected in parallel, giving 2 times more current than a single bank battery. And more current translates into more torque.
Very interesting saw. Looks like it will hold up for many different uses. However, I bought a 4 1/2-inch, corded saw, about 5 years ago and used it once for a specific job. It set on the shelf until this summer when I gave it away. Too much trouble when I have other saws that I use all the time and will do the same job.

Your right James I think tight spaces and overhead are where this would be best suited. That said the weight is minimal and once you get accustomed the new handle position it’s quick and easy to use. The more I was using it the more I liked it. Seems these little saws are gaining in popularity too. Thanks for watching!
So I'm surprised this is on their PWR 20v line and not the PWR 12v line. I have the Skil 12v jigsaw which I really like.

I received that 12v jigsaw in the mail from Skil today! I’ve got a large project and we’ll definitely see how good it is. Video should drop in a few weeks. Thanks for watching!
Seems nice you think skil is making a comeback? I still have one circle saw from the 70s still kicking!

They’re definitely trying Michael. I’ll be testing the new compact drills all week. So far I’m fairly impressed and they’re pretty inexpensive.
it'd been nice to see max bevel depth. can it rip/crosscut a 2x4 w/a bevel?
@ProjectsForAllReviews

Straight cut depth is 1 5/8. Depth at 45 is about an inch so just barely cuts a 2x4 at 90 degrees. Thanks for watching!

I'm thinking about getting the 5 1/2 brushless because it has a deeper cut and its shorter. but its a 12v system with a 4amp battery. Do you think this 20v setup is better ?
@ProjectsForAllReviews
Жыл бұрын
I have very little experience with 12v circular saws actually. I’ve always figured the more power the better. It would make a good topic and test for a video though because I’d like to know also. Thanks for the comment!

@@ProjectsForAllReviews Thank You for the reply. I think, if i were to get this 20v saw. i would have to add some sort of extension to the dust port to keep saw dust out of the motor vents. but its brushless so it might not even matter.
great video as always, hope you can make a review of the new 20V hammer drill and impact driver. 😁

I’d like to do the whole line for both 12v and 20v. The battery system is only worth the investment if all the tools are good. Thanks for watching!

@@ProjectsForAllReviews thanks man I got the 20v hammer drill and nervous whether I should switch to ryobi for the deeper line of tools
Is it to much to ask that skil tosses in a bag or case with their tools, I mean come on is that to much to ask for
Any ideas how I can pick this up in the UK?

Not sure Pritesh. At the moment they are released but not available in the US either. I find cool stuff from the UK on eBay here from time to time so that might be your best bet. Good luck!

How many real hours of use with that battery?
@ProjectsForAllReviews
11 ай бұрын
Not many hours on this tool but I do still use it often. IMO it’s best suited for quick cuts. It’s light and fast and easy to handle but for a ton of cutting or sheets I’m more likely to grab a full size circ saw. Thanks for watching Juan!
It looks barely larger than the 3-3/8-inch 10.8/12V cicular saws from Makita and Bosch.

Blades only 1 1/8 larger so yeah not much bigger thank those. Been using it a lot since the vid and I’m still impressed. Thanks for watching!
