Skil is making really good power tools now. People are catching on
The halo light is awesome lol. Love the fact the batteries double as a power bank too.
If I was a homeowner and looking for a solid cordless tool line skil would definitely be my 1st choice! Thanks for the video Vince!

Definitely want to see more of that saw, I got skils 12v line last year and it’s been fantastic, but sometimes I could use a bit more power
I hope that these will come in combo kits hopefully every one of those because I have a need for them. Thanks Vince, great job keep’m coming
If I wasn't on Milwaukee and DeWalt platform of tools I would probably go with Skill they've been making great corded tools I imagine they make great battery operated tools. Love the 10" miter saw I picked up a few months ago. VCG CONSTRUCTION 🚧 God bless 🙏
Can't say enough about Skil. Turned several of our fleet mechanics onto the 12 volt line first part of the year when Lowe's had the 12v five tool kit on clearance for 50% off. They have used the crap out of these tools no complaints. Me personally I am a big fan of the 12v line vs 20v they have, compact and powerful.

@@VCGConstruction Milwaukee updated the 2767 1/2" impact and ruined it. (Torque Test Channel did a video and confirmed the design change) Shame on Milwaukee. Please do a video and put them on blast. Can't believe they played this game.
I built my deck last year and was looking into tool brands that were affordable and good. Skil definitely delivered and built my deck in a jiffy! I'm sticking to Skil as a DIY homeowner!
Thx! The fan cooling is good feature
If Chervon rolls out stack battery technology to Skil - then I'm all in. I would like to see how the BRUSHLESS 20V 1/4 IN. HEX COMPACT IMPACT DRIVER Model #: ID6739B-10 stacks up against other compact 20V drills on the market in terms of power.
DIY, !!!! from what I'm seeing from skill last couple of years I wouldn't think twice about using them daily.

Hello 👋 VCG I really like the saw. It's a unique looking design. I think a testing review video would be a good idea. Very cool stuff. Thanks Vince.
We got a really good deal for a skill impact driver and a drill driver set from Lowe's for like 129 a couple months back had to pick that up
I like the Skil tools I started out with and still use. But you do have to be sure to check the model number when you buy. I thought I got a deal on their brushless hammer drill and the chuck was trashed after about 5 uses. I took it back to lowes and they wouldn't exchange it for what they had in store because it wasn't the same model number. When I looked it up it turned out the be the red headed step child model they sell for less.
I like the light and the USB
Thanks for the video

SKIL doin some pretty cool stuff. Halo light is awesome love mine on the HILTI Nuron. The light bar on the hammer drill looks insane! Lol that’s gotta be a industry first to have a light on the bottom that intense. Let’s see what these things can do on a TTR! 😃👍

Will you please do axreview of the circular saw? I have Makita's 12v 3 3/8" circular saw and love it. I use it for lattice all the time. However, I'm open to other options.
I’m a Ryobi HP guy, but I’ve become very intrigued by Skil lately

Awesome go Skil 🤙🏻
The light ring seems to be a great idea, ngl.

I started off with skil tools and have several, was thinking about upgrading. Where would you compare their new pwr core20 drill and impactor against Milwaukee?
I picked up skils 12volt 5 piece combo for $100 this past winter very impressed with it. Not no Milwaukee but it gets the job done for a great price. Thanks for the videos Goomba.

I like that Halo light, and the USB charger. Out here in North Carolina doing hurricane season the power goes out that USB charger can charge my phone plus Skil has pretty good tools. I'm definitely a DIY guy. I have a couple of Black and Decker trash tools, and 1 Craftsman. My son is an apprentice and went in for Makita. He's convincing me I need higher quality than my Black and Decker. I have a Lowe's only 2 miles from home, and don't see any reason I shouldn't go with Kobalt 24v, unless I'm missing something? Good enough for my needs, convenient for me, and close to home. I'd consider DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita etc, just to show off that I can afford it, but I don't care about that anymore.

I like direction they are going in they're tool design. The halo light on the 90 degree impact is amazing. Trigger is meh. Hopefully this new line has better low speed control.
Where can i find the iw6739 here in Montreal Quebec?
The skill products look solid. Just don't think as a homeowner I can replace my ryobi as ryobi offered everything. The triple source (18v) inverter, 6 battery super charger, 18gauge nailer, hammer drill, impact.. I wanted to go with the red brand but just can't justify it as my ryobi drill from 15? Years ago still works , the Nicad one.
I think we need to look at Chervon and say they are here to compete. The fact that they are putting more effort in Skil says it all. TTi should really be concerned. I don’t care what people say about Milwaukee delivering better quality, when it comes to price and going all out on brushless tech, chervon is the true pioneer
@engineer_alv
Жыл бұрын
I like how Chervon seems to clearly differentiate between their brands. Skil doesn't look like Kobalt and Kobalt doesn't look like Flex. And if you happen to shop at Menards their Masterforce tools don't look like the other brands, save for the halo light. OTOH, the line between Ryobi and Ridgid seems almost non-existent anymore and they creep on their specs way too often. Even their plastics look 90% the same just different paint.

What I really wanna see from pwrcore20 is a bigger battery! My brushless recip saw and a line trimmer eat up 5Ah like crazy, they are really good powerfull tools, but many of them demand a higher capacity battery
Have Skil also released a new generation of a 'combo kit' including a "drill/driver/hammer drill and an Impact Driver with a couple of batteries and a charger" as yet....?? If yes... what's the model no. ....?
I love my 12v skil stuff but was slightly unimpressed with some of the earlier 20v lineup. This got me excited. If they can keep expanding, I'll gladly jump on board with the 20v stuff. Id love to see the size of the new 20v drill and impact compared to the 12v model since the 12v are not the most compact out there.

Hello again Vince and Vcg Thank you for another Great Video 👍 A couple of questions for you. 1) if you mention this, I will apologize in advance. How long does it take to charge the battery. From dead to full charge. 2) When you used either drill or impact wrench, how often did you accidentally reverse the drill or impact wrench? That the issue I had with the M12 kit. Otherwise, the M12 is great. 3) And last question I promise. How heavy did it feel. Could you see yourself using it for a twelve hours shift? Again thank you 😊

Circular saw. Depth gauge, bevel cut gauge, base plate durability. These features and there functionality are clutch for me when deciding a purchase. Milwaukee circular saw depth gauge lock messes me up. Great saw but "push down" to unlock the depth. Don't feel right

Skil didn't come up with these features they're just early adopters, but it's still a very good indication. They are paying close attention to the industry; while others are sitting on their hands. I don't think they'll be pro, but they'll probably throw their weight around the prosumer market; lookout Ryobi.
Both the impacts fs do it up😂

That’s great to know. If you have a second, I have a question. I’m an old cabinet furniture maker. At one point I had to sell my tools due to financial reasons and for years after, I’ve been using Ryobi(I know) what comical brand with many tools would you recommend for a strong diy-er/hobbyist in his 60’s if he wanted to change brands and battery platform. I value your advice alot
@normferguson2769
Жыл бұрын
If you are a hobbyist the Ryobi will suit you well. I have had their drill and jig saw for over 20 years and and still using them occasionally. If you are driving screws half the day then Dewalt or Milwaukee will be a better choice. They are built a little stronger to last the daily work place. Shop sales for additional batteries to match your selected brand. No-name brands off Amazon are just as good per my experience.

I really like Makita. All of thier tools from my experience are very well made and built to last. They are on the pricier side, but the quality is worth it. I am an electrician and use thier impact, drill/driver, sawzall, skilsaw, right angle drill, and led lights everyday and they are fantastic! I also love thier 18v weed eater and 36v (18x2) blower!
@l00nybin

@@GrizzlyBear6364 do you have their hydraulic impulse driver? I use the M18 and M12 Surge drivers a lot, and have considered switching to Makita, but that impulse driver would be a must for my ears if it's as good as my M18 Surge.
In this part of the world a SKIL 4Ah is 80$, more expensive than my M18 5Ah LOL. *That said, their tools are amazing and not just for the price

@l00nybin

If you do a considerable amount of your work inside, then the M12.and M18 Surge hydraulic drivers that Milwaukee offers are going to seduce you with how quiet they are and still have the power you need. I'm just a DIY guy, but my hearing is important to me, so I use my Surge drivers for a lot of stuff. For a profession in the trades, Milwaukee is going to have a larger variety of tools that will fit your needs.
Skil is Kilwaukee!!!!
12v circular saw would have been cool.
I've been a fan of Skil's new benchtop tools for some time, but I must confess I have been exceptionally disappointed in their cordless line; not because they lack features, durability, or power, but because they've been so blase' about expanding their product line. Yes, Skil is no DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, or even Flex, but the last major tool release we got was the rear-handle XP saw and detail sander, and those were spaced out over the course of a whole year! I want to replace my disappointing, cheapo lime green machines, but until Skil can give me the tools I need (just a cordless trim router would be enough to get me to start jumping ship), I am going to need to take a pass. Finger's crossed they have something more to show at STAFDA than just these compacts.
usb got me so bad , trying to get some extra batteries from skill
If you are working at a job site for 8 hours and use your drills enough to run the battery down to zero then I would expect you to have at least one spare on a charger somewhere. Skil is not my first choice by a long shot. I am locked on to the Dewalt 18/20V and Milwaukee 18/20V and have about 5 chargers and 10 batteries for each. This is not boding well for your credence among those who use power tools daily. Please think of your fan base before the promotional interests.

I definitely disagree. What if a tool is purchased that is seldom or never used? I think the better advice would be is to purchase the cheapest tools possible, as long as they are comparable and when they break, that means it's time to move on to better tools. If a tool purchased is an expensive one, and gets seldom used, in my book that is a waste of money.
Ridgid subs are better.
